The camera shows the life of doves from courting and rearing their young, through congregating into large flocks, and migrating to warmer winter climates.
Produced by Missouri Dept. of Conservation (1959).
Im here because i found a nest outside on my balcony in San Marcos tx. The babies finally hatched and i was curious when they feed them. This was so useful and i once found another bird outside my door, and now i know it was the mother switching places with the male.
I'm sad they don't make documentaries like this anymore; actually crying while writing this! 😭
Wonderful video. I wish they still made them like this. Just calm talk based on facts. No profanity, no political agenda, no overdramatized narration. I’m thankful to have happened upon this. I love Doves 🕊 ❤️
I have one that regularly visits my balcony. A welcome guest!
This took a real 1959 turn!
What a wonderful documentary! I have always loved Mourning Doves and now I have learned even more about them! Thank you so much for posting this video!
Thanks for posting this video.
I love doves #DoveLove
doves, birds of love
Thanks for posting this for posterity. Great info!
I don't know or how to react on anyone's opinions, but this is my favorite bird ,American passenger pigeons were scattered around all over north America once outnumbered. They were totally instinct so morning doves are very close related to American passenger pigeons. Perhaps one day mourning doves will be extinct as well if we don't protect them by over hunting them. In Canada they are not hunted ,and in some parts of United states it's been hunted a lot .Please save the beautiful gorgeous peaceful bird mourning doves.
they're my favorite bird too, I can even make the same sound they do when they sing.
"323 will wear this band for the rest of his life" 323: Gee thanks.
323 MAY YOU LIVE LONG AND COO HARD

sad ending
+Zeitgeist TTD Life always has a sad ending if you think death is sad.
It's the cycle of life; get over it.
Aren't you full of wisdom to share!
Death comes to all, whether by gun or nature...
This is not what I was looking for :(
I had a mourning nest in my front yard but i think thr hawk got them ... ghid year they are in my back yard nesting ...
My, my. People hunting.
And the biologist smoking in his office as well.
Snowflakes everywhere are melting.
I am looking g for a bird often featured (sound) on the TV show "All Saints". It has a very throaty cry, sort of like when DR. puts that wooden stick in your mouth and tells you to say aaaahhhhh! Only 10.000 times louder and very annoying. The All Saints show is made in Australia. Can anyone help me?
Love 🐦 🦜 🦚 🪶 🦢 chicken
SO AWESOME CZcams I HEAR THIS COOING EVERY MORN...SOUNDING SO SAD ONLY TO FIND OUT HE'S LOOKING FOR LOVE...YOU MEAN AFTER YOU SHOT HIM
🐣🐤🕊️
No better way to spend a lovely morning than out on a hunt. The sweetest sight in nature is dead and dying birds strewn about the landscape.
I agree 100%
Wonderful documentary on the life of mourning doves ! But to hunt them ? Appalling ! Horrible !
Don't watch then snow flake
"The Story of The Mourning Dove and How to Properly Shoot Them" should be the title. What a sick way to pass the time.
+Ellie B. That's true but it's necessary for population control
+Constellar Diamond yeah, doves breed like rabbits
@@Sheikah_Architect dove baby life is 65-75% chance of alive
Dove bird have more predators : big bird, fox, cat, human= 0 bird left
Human predators: big cat,big animal, nature but 4% chance= 0 human left
They taste good. Grow a pair.
I'm only okay for hunting for food. But I love mourning doves so I'm biased. T_T it hurts me.... why not hunt pigeons instead? lmao jk.
Hardly worth it, a tiny bit of meat for the expense of a shotgun shell, not to mention spreading lead in the surrounding environment.
I hate hunters
Why? The money that hunters spend is where they got the money to make documentary's like this and purchase the land for conservation and habitat improvement and that helps land owners know what they need to do to improve their own land. If anti hunters really cared about wildlife they would spent their money to buy land for the purpose of making a wildlife refuge but they don't...but the money from the hunters goes towards that land use too!
Just for the pleasure of killing an animal we provide a license to some weird people. It’s a beautiful video but certainly a sad one.
Don't watch then didly wad
