What if your device isn’t showing up?
Be sure you have it plugged into the motherboard and not a USB strip. On MacOSX, it will automatically install a driver and will be in your Audio/MIDI setup. On PC, you have to install the Drivers and reboot with the device plugged in to initialize.
My focursrite 2i2 2nd gen not appears on studio one 5. How could I solve it ?
It be in the Start page under Configure Audio Devices. If its not there, then the drivers need to be installed on the computer with the DAW closed.

When you brought up the second window for the focusrite, it was unclear why you did that, what it did to match the two numbers up, and what’s going to happen if I don’t do that

You can also right click on your speaker icon in the right bottom corner of windows, open up the Volume Mixer. Then click on the interface device you want to edit the properties on. The advanced tab will allow you to change the sample rate and bit depth.
