Good evenings from 🇨🇦,got a 2002 explorer slipping on 2/ 3 shift. Work ford dealership . Code p732 and o775,,worked on the solenoids, cleaning, no real difference. I had a another's used one, installed but winter hit, waiting for spring. Watching videos like yours, thanks, much appreciation. Going also pull the survoes, after learning their problems. I got a quote of 2000 with tax for a rebuild. The explorer is in very great shape for being here in Nova Scotia. Thanks for the imformative video have a great week.

Great video, i would recommend doing this shift kit while its down tho.. first time i pulled mine only problem was a bad overdrive sprag, replaced it and the torque converter.. ran perfect exactly one year then wouldnt move one morning.. the flow control valve in the pump was stuck open.. if i would have bought the shift kit the first time, it would have came with the new updated flow control valve and I wouldnt have to pull it again.. but this time, i took the time to do the full rebuild..

I’ve got a ford ranger here in Australia and it’s $5500 to get a rebuild. I own 3 cars and that is not an option right now. I have gone through two now after installing one from a wrecker for 3.8K . I’m heartbroken. So I have one out the car and I’m going to tackle it step by step. Cheers for vid I need a mountain of info

I have a 2003 Ford explorer and it's slipping in 3rd gear and it drive in 3rd. That looks like your intermediate servo. I personally believe you can Rheem those out without those guides. Reamers are basically self-aligning. If you can try it out inside you might even be able to do it without taking the transmission apart

My then 1991 Ford Explorer auto transmission began leaking ATF badly while about 500 miles from home. Stopped off at an Aamco shop and was told it needed a rebuild. Spent $2,600 for the rebuild. Interestingly, there was no engine braking in 1st gear before and after the rebuild? About 6,000 miles later it began to drip ATF, the same situation as last time when about a few hundred miles after the dripping started it began losing ATF at about a pint per 50 miles. I should have just driven the Explorer to a wrecking yard and bought a new car! I sold the '91 Explorer to a mechanic for $500. Good for 4Wheeling if nothing else.

  • @Romans-xy5wn

The purpose of a rebuild is to add updates. The reason a rebuild is better than a reman is because of the updates but money is everything if you can afford them you’ll have a better transmission then factory

Cloyes! Suppose to be better than oem. But still rattled, then I put a trans authority trans in the son of a gun well wouldn’t you know it it has torque converter valve body or service issue still? Getting flashing od and check trans…. Unbelievable only vehicle I’ve ever seen you can’t actually Fix no matter how much money you throw at it 😂

Can you tell me if the 40" rise I've seen published for this lift means 40" from the floor, or is it that the lift platform goes up 40" from where it began, which would mean that adding that plus the height of the platform itself would mean it being like 44" or 45" from the floor?

@@bucksgarage1 l was being silly and hope you weren't offended, I always thought to do some video of doing repairs that no one has made but i shy away from it because I've never done one, I've never like being recorded on old video recorders, like VHS, it never sounds like what you hear yourself as, and made you look different, but it's a lot better these days but I'm still traumatize from the past to do one now.
