    Forest, I’m logic, pro guy and appreciate the content that you offer for logic. I’m sure studio one is a great DAW but at this point in my journey doesn’t make sense to make a switch. Enjoy your teaching style carry-on, brother.

      @@yzw536more Logic videos coming but it simply comes down to I enjoy working on studio one and feel overall it is in fact a superior DAW to Logic. That being said I will continue Logic content on this channel and have a separate place for studio one content.

    Hi Forest. I'm a Logic / Apple guy, but I'm curious what you'll showcase on your other channel as well. Will it be about operating Studio One only, or will you show songwriting/ production workflow and tips also? And what music styles will you cover? I'm mostly into pop/rock and love some modern pop (rock?) country like Keith Urban. By the way, I just started your Logic course two days ago. Diving back into the music making realm. Good luck with all your new video content here on CZcams, I'm really looking forward to it!

      @@forestwhitehead I absolutely love it but, they are definitely behind on several features that many other DAW’s have had for a long time. The Live 12 Update (once officially released) will pretty much have me locked in for life haha.

    Logic Pro X!
    Or a great video Idea would be to hear your thoughts on the differences between Logic vs Studio one.
    Im a huge Logic Pro guy, But I have been seeing a trend pop up with Studio one. Im curious to know why?
    Whats so different or whats better about it, than Logic. :)

    Forest, the information you offer here crosses all DAW lines in my opinion. I primarily use Cubase. I have used Protools as well as other DAW platforms. What I have learned is that the best DAW is the one you know and use the best. At the end of every project the finished product is a WAV file. I will take a look at the new channel now to keep up with what you have going on.

    • @forestwhitehead
      @forestwhitehead  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You are right! All comes down to a wav file. But some beginners want to see the process in an environment they are familiar with. Thanks for watching!

    I've been a Logic guy for over 20 years, but I've worked with presonus a couple times and have tried out S1. I'm still really curious about it. There are tons of features I like, but every time I need to get something done I end up back in Logic. The same goes for Luna, which I like a lot and is the closest thing to what I learned when I first started recording, but I hate trying to figure out how to do something I already know so well in Logic.
    And I can't seem to get away from Drummer. Haven't found a better way you rough out drum parts that feel organic.

    • @forestwhitehead
      @forestwhitehead  Před 7 měsíci

      Logic pulled me away from Pro Tools years ago for all the reasons you listed above. But there were some audio editing and comping features i missed in the Pro Tools workflow. I feel Studio One has the best of both worlds.. Midi editing like Logic and great audio editing like Pro Tools so I end up wanting to work in Studio One most the time now. I will continue to create Logic content for this channel. Thanks for your comment. Superior drummer has GREAT starter patterns as far as a drum VST. Check it out!

    • @thejasontlewis
      @thejasontlewis Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks. I never really got started with ProTools because I was getting into digital recording when ProTools was tethered to buying hardware and you could get more for your money from Motu and others if you weren't working in a pro studio. I started out with Digital Performer, but moved to Logic and then when Apple bought it I just kept going. So many features added over the years for the same monetary investment.
      I have Superior Drummer but honestly haven't dug too deeply into it. I'll have to spend more time with it. @@forestwhitehead

      @@forestwhitehead Would make a great video. And it's a great tool for production. Because it's hands on. Goes much quicker than with a DAW. But only for production, certainly not good for mixing.

      @@forestwhitehead Studio one is pretty much the younger cousin to Cubase. I was on logic, then studio one but ultimately I prefer Cubase Pro. Studio One is cool though. I still look at what they are doing with the DAW from time to time. I’ll subscribe to your second channel as well. Happy New Year to you!
