- A little follow-up to my "Poor Man's Moving Head Totem" video: Option 2 with the ADJ LTS-6 Tripod/Light stand & also some new American DJ Vizi LED Spots. Enjoy!
Here's the Poor Man's Moving Head Totem video - • Do It From Scratch - P... - Věda a technologie
Just got the ADJ vizi spot LED... wow so nice !! SOOO happy
Awesome! I totally understand why you called this the poor man totem. But I think this is the better way of putting Moving heads up. The Moving Heads have now gotten smaller and lighter. So now this way is better. I am gonna try this one my moving heads.
sweet idea....Gonna have to pick up a couple of LTS-6's for sure!
Yes I do and didn't even think of that. You are right, that would work too. I feel the only trouble is would be the weight of the crank stand itself. They are too heavy for me!
Man that looks good!
nice approach with the visi LED bracket, whatever works!! haha
Great informative and fun video ADJ lighting is very exciting and i love the tripod effect good job
American DJ makes the LTS-6 and the Visi LED Spot :) SO, get this stuff at your local (or internet) American DJ dealer :)
i like your small slips "the only thing cooler than two Vizi LED spots, are TWO Vizi LED spots" ;)
Innovative....nice vid Bri!!
I think it's a great answer for thoes of us who just can't haul big pieces of box truss
Brilliant, I prefer the tripod & scrim king setup over the box truss totem. And its smaller and more compact when not in use.
wow love the new ideas dj mikemike
AKA BRIANSREDD u r going gear crazy for us....i love it :) ok i would like to see mabey some other lighting using the same type of stand like mikemike did with the revo 3 you could do with other lights also if you could use an o-clamp to atach other lights to the side if not using a moving head also brian you should sell or do something with the t-bar of the lts-6 so it would be cool if you could use an o-clamp and atach the t-bar under thestand for lights ect
Ahhh... Love it...
love the idea bri my only problem is i have one american dj electra (halogen) was was if you think this idea could some how work for the electra or any scanner.
You could always pay some friends to hold your moving heads. You could uplight them to get the full effect.
Great video I want to know, how to mount inno pocket Spot moving head.
@The1DJGray Yeah this is kind of a teaser :) I'm running them right now and learning the ins-and-outs at the moment so I can give a decent overview :)
Ya, Brian can you do a vid on the vizi. Like an in depth look. Thanks
DJ Brian the 3rd
Nice work if you ask me ! :)
It's probably not stable enough for the VISI stuff to go too high, but great for other fixtures like the X-Move LED or other effects like Revo moonflowers, etc
im really liking this idea. no need for some global truss lol.
I Was wondering how this sort of concept could work for scanners as well. Maybe I'll stare at the parts available and a scanner for a while to see what I come up with
i like that thank you were can i get them from
hmm 30 lbs may be pushing it with the LTS-6 system. I JUST ordered the parts for my 3rd Tripod Totem concept. This next option may work better for heavier fixtures. Stay tuned!
This is a smart idea, i think i might do the same type of mount with my 2 scanners, would you recomend that?
What size are the screws that come with the moving head...I cant find longer ones...please help
At about 4:12 into the video you show a bracket that has what looks like self retaining wingnut screws... is that something that came with that bracket or where can you find those.... I've googled my fingers to the bone and can't find them.
It looked like the tripods were wiggling towards the end. Is this movement very noticeable in person and does it increase the higher you take the stand? I can tell those vizi's have more torque than the x-moves. Thanks for the vid.

Could somebody please tell me, how long is the T-Bar?
would it work with an odyssey ltp-2
@uptownxpress That's just good thinking Stefan! Do you want me to do the video on it or are you already on top of it?
This is a great idea!! Hey Brian, how much do your fixtures weigh? I have a pair of Chauvet QSpot 250's, they weigh like 30lbs. Do you think I could pop those 2 bad boys up on tripods?
My moving head has 2 brackets and they`re on the sides rather than the centre. Has anyone been able to do this with moving heads like this?
@uptownxpress Oh it'll work. Just looked at it. You will have to use a different bolt than the wing nut provided, but I have one I got with the LTS-6 that works perfect. Let me shower so I look presentable and I'll get on that. You'll see a video in about 2 hours demonstrating it :)
@uptownxpress OK video #3 uploading now!
im interested in the other idea you have brian. so for this idea you have to have a LTS-6 stand?
ha ha i had exactly the same idea nice to c it works :)
he brian i have a small sowing box with multie small boxes in it for scroews and nuts
@briansredd Ok that makes two of us.
do you know how to set up a damn camera?
nope
nope there were 3 people 1st lol
