Hi Bas, Great teaching once again. To add my 2 cents. Our spirit is the lamp and God's spirit is the oil. The oil does 100% of the work and we just shine because of his grace and fruit in our lives. God calls us to have a relationship with him and our Christian lives should come naturally, not any other way.

Friends I appeal to you in truth and in peace through the true and living word of GOD. The question here seems to be how do we glorify the GOD if we have Grace? Well the scripture states,
Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
      2 Corinthians 3:7‭-‬18 NIV
      bible.com/bible/111/2co.3.7-18.NIV
We were not able to achieve righteousness under the old Covenant( The Law Of Moses) that is why priest and blood sacrifices were needed for the atonement of sin. Jesus came as the eternal sacrifice and the eternal priest. Those who believe he came here to die for our transgressions and was then resurrected, now through faith are saved. That is true of us as believers. The demonstration of faith is not alone, it requires work. What work you say? Since we can not work to earn salvation right? True, but faith requires work to be fulfilled.
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
      James 2:26 NIV
      bible.com/bible/111/jas.2.26.NIV
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless ? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
      James 2:18‭-‬24 NIV
      bible.com/bible/111/jas.2.18-24.NIV
Jesus told his disciples if you love me then you will keep my commandments. Jesus is the faith because no man has seen the father but Jesus the Christ but we have faith ( the evidence of something hope for but no seen) in him that by obeying his commands and believing in his words that we will be found righteous and worthy through his sacrifice and Gods gift of Grace.
Remember we must walk in the spirit.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
      Galatians 5:13‭-‬26 NIV

Romans 2:13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
And regarding anything written by Paul (such as Romans) ...
2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15 And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also *our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, beware lest you be carried away with the error of lawless men and lose your own stability.* 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

The message is so simple and our loving Father had set it up to make it so easy for His children to understand but for some reason people just want it to be a lot more complicated!
I just remembered the scripture in Romans 11:4-7
And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, as it is written:
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
      eyes that could not see
and ears that could not hear,
      to this very day.”

Deshaun Bryant - you are ABSOLUTELY so misguided in your comment as I am speaking from my very own experience being a Christian for 30 years and God in His great mercy brought me to this journey of Grace in the last 4 years which has led me a lot closer than I’ve ever ever been in my whole Christian walk to the Father. I didn’t realise the level of bondage the Institutionalised Church has put on my life with it’s man made traditions and teachings until Christ broke the shackles of religion as I received revelation after revelation after revelation from the Holy Spirit through my 4 year journey as I mined the depth of Father’s love for my life and led me to a life of living in the true freedom of the Spirit. A life of a deeper walk and love with Christ than I’ve never experienced in my whole Christian walk.
As a Christian we’ve been taught to always look at the fruit in everything we do. I can honestly tell you that I bore more fruit in the last 4 years of my “Grace” walk than my last 30 years as a Christian in an Institutionalised Church!
Through this Gospel of Grace, I started to lose my desire to sin and found myself more forgiving and loving than I used to WITHOUT EVEN TRYING! I’ve noticed my thought patterns have changed as well becoming more & more in line with our Lord’s ways.
This compared to the “sin management” system that are being taught in Institutionalised Christianity is DEFINITELY NO CONTEST!
This is because through “Grace”, I have learned that it is really Christ in me who deals with sin. Contrary to popular Christian belief with their sin management system that man can manage sin!
Don’t you know that sin will master you if you’re under the law?
      The law arouses sinful passions!!!
If you make anything taboo, it excites the flesh!!
So brother, I say this with great conviction through the trials and tribulations that have come my way over the years that I wouldn’t trade this Gospel of Grace revealed to me by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to anything less than this TRUE GOOD NEWS!
Brother in Christ, if you believe that people in this forum is being deceived by what you perceive as a false doctrine, then based on my deep conviction and personal experience with “The Lover Of The Human Race” who gave His life for me so that I can truly experience His life and know how wide and long and high and deep Christ’s love is!
THEN I’LL HAPPILY ACCEPT WHAT YOU PERCEIVE AS DECEPTION WITH OPEN ARMS UNTIL CHRIST IS REVEALED IN ME!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Matt5:16
What were the works Jesus did to glorify our Father?
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. Matt9:6-8
And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. Matt 15:32
Jesus caused God to be glorified by the people by His works of faith . As you said God is glorified by His grace to you As we walk in faith of Jesus there will be healings and miracles and these will cause people to glorify God and fulfil Matt 5:16 Not by our efforts but by releasing our God given faith which gives works of grace to the hearer just like Jesus did. I agree God is not glorified by people when we are shut away in a church service or by our behaviour Thanks for your thought provoking video

    1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
I think you are correct on some very important levels, but perhaps just a little imperfect in terms of giving a full explanation (since it is clear we are to do all to the glory of God) of this particular Truth.
Remembering that it is sin which suppresses the glory of God, and that it is upon such suppression wrath is being revealed [Ro 1:18], it makes sense that the Good News (which you are talking about)'s revelation of God's righteousness (from faith to faith), which is the glorification of God (revealing the Truth about God), that is "salvation" from sin (suppressing the Truth/Glory of God) and the just wrath being revealed against sin [Ro 1:16-17].
Our lives glorify God only to the degree that we receive from Him (as a moon has no light of its own to shine but if it is merely exposed to the light of the sun it can appear to have light), but you are correct in saying that nearly all "conventional definitions" of "glorifying God" are inaccurate, and can even stultify God glorifying Himself by His own acts of lavishing His grace on us.
We actually *must* glorify God, or else we will fall under God's wrath; however, the "method" is that of being a "Promise Receiver" just as you say. If we desire to be "glorifiers" of God we must, most importantly, "abide and receive". We cannot reveal a God we do not know.
This is why faith is called "obedience", and unbelief "disobedience" [Jn 3:36 ESV; Ro 1:5; Gal 5:7; 2 Th 1:8]: if we do not receive (the knowledge of God/relationship) through trust in His Good News (being "Promise Receivers"), we will not be people who reveal Him. The level to which our lives end up revealing/glorifying God is limited to the degree God is glorifying *Himself* ("praise of His glorious grace"), which is limited to the degree we do not try to earn but only receive.
I'm not claiming I'm perfect at this (receiving) yet--I'm not (I have problems with fear for various reasons--among them, I was raised by a radical Muslim)--but I've been getting many of the same ideas you seem to be saying just in my own studying the Bible and my experiences with God.

John 17 clearly shows that God is glorified in Christ and Christ in God and God glorified in us as we are in Christ and He is revealed in us. This is apart from our works and only in what Christ has done in us. To God be all the glory for what He has done in us, for us and through us. The through us is of course Himself being manifested in our lives by the demonstration of HIs love, grace and power.......

      @eMj-so9bq Pƙed 5 lety

James Burns- Brother I just need to reiterate the commands of Jesus in the New Covenant found in 1John 3:23-24 as you’ll find that it’s not that complicated. In fact God set it up to be easy for His children!
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
The Greek word for “command” used in the Old Testament is “Nomos”.
The Greek word for “command” used in the New Testament is “Entole”.
As I’m sure you’re aware that we cannot mix the Old and the New Covenant as that would be called spiritual adultery.
      Here are some scriptures regarding Jesus’ command (Entole) in the New Covenant;
      John 13:34
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
      John 15:12-14
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
      John 15:16-17
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit -fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.
      2John 1:4-6
It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
      John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to BELIEVE IN THE ONE HE HAS SENT.”
The biggest issue for us His children is we just want His commands to be harder than what it really is!
So when you hear Jesus’ teaching about keeping His commands, He’s talking about what’s mentioned above.
      God bless!

    • @royborgersen8092
      @royborgersen8092 Pƙed 7 lety +1

Beauty ByTarms Yes, we must repent, we must turn away from sin and live in repentance. 1 John1:9, Acts 2:38, 3:19, 26:18-20.Jesus came to save us FROM sin, not to make us able to live in sin without having to face the consequences of it. Living in repentance is not the same as keeping the law of Moses, we have received grace that teaches us to do it by heart, out of love, Titus 2:11-12. In fact we are called to be a living sacrifice, not living like this world, Romans 11:1-2. To repent is to admit that you deserve to die because of your sins, and that you need a saviour, and turn to God to get power through grace to live a new life after the spirit.
You are living under a new and good law that enables you to live right. The law of Moses was the law of death, punishing sin with death, now we can live by the law of the spirit of life and kill the works of the flesh, Romans 8:1-3. This is a walk in love, and no one is perfect all at once. We will fall in sin sometimes by habit of ignorance, but God is good and teaches us, and forgives us when we repent as we saw in 1 John 1:9. But this is different from living in sin and thinking that it doesn't matter because of grace. The gnostics taught this to the extreme, teaching that it was only the spiritual reality that mattered, and therefore you could sin as much as you like. Paul addressed this heresy, living after the flesh leads to death, you reap what you sow, Gal.6:7-8.

    • @royborgersen8092
      @royborgersen8092 Pƙed 7 lety

Josh D. Rodas You are making it too complicated. It should be easy to understand what Repentance is from what I showed the Bible day about it. Repentance is to turn away from sin and being so serious about it that you are willing to do all you can to stop sinning. Then we will ask God, what must I DO to be saved? And by reading it honestly and not commit the great error of revising away the word, you will know that you must receive forgiveness through faith in what Jesus has done for you, and be baptized in water and spirit to have the power and freedom to overcome sin and be kept in Jesus. All of that starts with admitting that you need to turn away from your sins, and getting enough conviction from the holy Spirit to actually be motivated to do it. By being baptized in water and spirit you will be enabled to have victory over sin. All through the Bible we can read how God gives us the choice between death as a seed of living in sin, and life as a seed of living in the spirit.
Here is the Strongs concordance definition of the word, showing without doubt repentance is the right word to use, but what I have written shows us even better the complete meaning in the word of God, because his word explains itself, Word: metanoew
      Pronounce: met-an-o-eh'-o
      Strongs Number: G3340
Orig: from 3326 and 3539; to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider (morally, feel compunction):--repent. G3326
      Use: TDNT-4:975,636 Verb
      Heb Strong: H5162 H7725
      1) to change one's mind, i.e. to repent
      2) to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

    • @royborgersen8092

Josh D. Rodas You are just twisting the Word, that is dangerous. Scripture explains scripture, that is the most important way to understand the meaning of the word repentance. The scriptures I gave, teaches us simply that repentance is to turn away from a life of sin which is rebellion against God, and to start living a holy life by letting the grace of God teach us to deny ungodliness and fear God, as written in Titus 2:12.

The term "glory" has a great deal to do with recognition. It's not something that can exist in a vacuum. Yes, we CAN glorify God, but this is because glorification is the offering of the recognition of accomplishments. When a king wins a "glorious victory" on the battle field, it is to say that it is a victory that is recognized and widely talked about.
Saying that we can't glorify God is like saying we can't talk about him. When we marvel at his greatness or thank him for his blessings, this is glorification. I don't understand your definition of this term in this line of reasoning.
