BANGKOK, THAILAND - Bangkok has a huge variety of delicious international food including amazing Indian restaurants. Today we’re going on a food tour to eat some of the best South Indian food in Bangkok - from small canteens to fine dining, these are some of the best South Indian restaurants in Bangkok.
Sri Ganesha Restaurant (goo.gl/maps/5KNhqQfwJ35rwJdz5), Prices - About 100 - 150 THB per plate. Located on the ground floor of Sukhumvit Suites, Sri Ganesha Restaurant is a vegetarian South Indian restaurant that specializes in things like idlis, dosas, and uthappam. Their dishes are fantastic and the chutneys are superb.
Sugam Restaurant (g.page/Sugamrestaurant?share), Price - 189 THB per person ($5.78 USD) - Probably my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Bangkok is Sugam Restaurant which serves pure vegetarian Tamil Nadu style South Indian food. They serve everyday, but on Saturdays they have an 18 food varieties thali served on a banana leaf. It was amazing to hang out with Mr. Vijay and his family, and to eat epic South Indian food.
JHOL Coastal Indian Cuisine (g.page/Jholbkk?share), Price - About 1,500 - 2,500 THB per person - Finally to complete this best South Indian food tour in Bangkok I went to Jhol, an upper end modern Indian restaurant serving coastal Indian food - mostly South Indian. The quality of the ingredients and the balance of spice and masalas is outstanding - another one of the best restaurants in Bangkok.
And that completes the best of South Indian food restaurants in Bangkok!

I ran into Mark just as he was wrapping up at the first location, Sri Ganesha Restaurant. I've walked by that building almost every day and never realized there was an Indian restaurant inside. Will definitely check it out myself. Mark was super nice and didn't mind talking for a few minutes about his experiences and what he was up to that day. Thanks Mark for putting out this video and sharing your love for Indian food with us!

The most well-known Indian monument in India, the Taj Mahal is not Indian. It was built on the orders of Mughal colonialists. One of the most important pieces of legislation still enforceable in India is the Indian Penal Code 1860. It was given Royal Assent by Queen Victoria and was first enforced in India by His Excellency the Right Honourable Charles Canning, 1st Earl Canning, KG, GCB, KSI, PC, Governor-General of India. So why do you feel it is so strange that your bloggers are busy promoting pizza and Starbucks coffee? There's also the story that it was the Italian architect Geronimo Veroneo, who is believed to have lived in Agra for many years and died in Lahore in 1640 was the architect who designed the Taj Mahal.

This episode has been a spectacular culinary journey to the kind of Indian dishes that I personally love. Most of the Indian folks don't usually eat the typical North Indian style restaurant food that you usually find everywhere. So, nice to see you are brining that phenomenon out in the open. Also, it is amazingly satisfying to see you enjoy every bite of your food. God bless!

Exactly! More East, NE & West India food please!
And those Indian restaurants (be it operated by Indian, Pakistani, Nepali or Bangladeshi)! FFS!!! Stop adding that orange food color in every other second dish. You guys have single handedly created a stereotype image for Indian food being orange in colour & being heavy!!

You can make a very simple potato sabzi at home. Boil and peel potatoes and shallow fry them in oil with a little turmeric and cayenne or red chillie powder. Once the potatoes become light brown and crusty then remove them. Add some more oil to the pan. Now add black mustard seeds let them splutter then add chopped onions. Saute the onions on a low flame till they become translucent or even a little brown. Then add tomatoes and salt, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chili powder. Stir the tomatoes till they become pulpy and then add the potatoes , saute it properly and cover and cook for a few minutes on a low heat. Uncover and then add a handful chopped fresh cilantro. The curry is ready. You can eat this with roti or rice.

  • @brahminangirasgotraraniselvisu

I am South Indian from State Tamil Nadu born in Villupuram. Very impressed to see you know so much about South Indian food! I have seen your food vlogs when you were in East India,
New Delhi, Mumbai and Kerala! My favourite South Indian dish is Dosa with coconut chutney. My favourite North Indian dish is paneer! Now I make my own home made fresh paneer which is very easy to make at home.
How to make fresh home made paneer: 1 liter fresh milk, boil the milk. Then add 1 fresh lime juice or 1 big fresh lemon juice. From the moment you add the lime juice, milk starts to crumble which is fresh home made paneer. When most of the moisture has thinkend, empty rest of the moisture and put the fresh paneer in cloth or on plate. Fresh paneer is ready! It is only 5 minutes!
