In this episode on Tekniq, We will journey through the world on vehicles locally produced from wood to carry wood, and other various materials for commercial purposes.
I think about stuff like that a lot, there are dudes that if you gave them real good tools, they'd completely change the game going off what they're doing with essentially garbage
Don't worry Jase I'm with you dude. "Pimp my Trike" or "Mad Max meets Bali." In Thailand that sort of engineering is called "Thai Style" by the farang. I have also seen a Drag Race Team in Thailand called "Safety 5th" and flip flops are called "Thai Safety Boots". But Thailand like most Asian countries are extreme polluters of this world compared to the west. China is over the top bad. Have a good one. 👍
just look at the wobbly wheels. And the kids riding in this death trap. I mean, a used car for 1000EUR will get you more safety than this. And yeah, you are able to do sth. like this - you a) have to get permits or b) do it illegally and face consequences.

The clutch design of the train's belt drive is impressive and smart, so simple yet effective, i'm stokedd. To engage the clutch just slide the whole engine away from the axle to tighten that belt putting tension on it, ito open the clutch slide the engine forward a bit. Clever.
now this is freedom, in the us we cant even have classic cars as projects on our own property... they just call the county and steal it from you, then scrap it or auction it off... 😔
Go live there if you think it's so great to have no rules. I don't know where you, but I live in Pa. and there are plenty of people with yards full of old cars. If you live were there's an HOA that's your fault.
@@floridaboiwoody As you go further south you see more and more junk in peoples yards. Something breaks, it gets moved to the front porch, then once they give up all hope of fixing it, it goes in the yard. They leave broken vehicles in the driveway till they give up hope of fixing it, then it goes in the yard.
@bigredc222 pretty much. But hey, I would hate to scrap my old truck and then me or a neighbor needs a part from it. I figure old trucks are like money in the bank. If I ever need a few bucks quick I can always scrap it.
I had a 91 F-250 for 25 years, the last ten it mostly sat, I drove less than 1000 miles a year. It was just rusting away from sitting so I finally sold it to a kid. I figured at least it will get used, and for the rare times I need a truck I get one of my friends with a truck to help.
Gotta get me an Indonesian wife, that girl's got skills!! Can you imagine the screaming and shouting if you told a western woman: "Honey, assemble the train, we're going shopping"? 🤣
You have to respect the ingenuity of the human race, and if you don’t just look around in the city, the structures that we build cars and airplanes flying around. Respect.👍🏿💪🏿

I mean... A kid can do what they do.. infact it's what I use to do as a kid in North Carolina 30 years ago.... Only ours didn't look like such death traps.
Amazing what these guys can make. The sleds at the end, I would think using wheels would be easier but probably tricky maneuvering downhill along that path. Cool video
Nope, just wood on metal (or even wood on wood). Lovely thing about wood is it will compress and actually get rather smooth. Add some oil or grease to reduce the friction and it works just fine so long as there isn't too much speed to make a lot of friction and heat.... It's how old wagons did it.
11:50 these downhill wooden scooters are from Northern Philippines, not in Indonesia. We also have motorised railcarts here in the Philippines (same in the previous video clip)
What trips me out is in all these countries and in India dudes do hardcore work in sandals. I don't wear them even in summer. These dudes wear them in molten iron factories.
The sled likely works better because it spreads the weight out so it doesn't just dig into the dirt and mud. There is a reason why loggers used sleds and horse till the advent of big hauling trucks even in the US.
I clicked on this because I thought it would be silly, no joke. But now, I would hire these guys as fabricators if I could. Given resources and equipment they could probably make some baller crap.
When you live in a place with limited or less resources and opportunity, this is what you do, make your own opportunity, learn a skill, use it, share it. I say this because too many times people say they commit crimes simply because they have no opportunity and there is nothing to do.
Some context of where this is, who they are. Especially the wooden cycles. would be extremely useful. Where abouts in Indonesia is the filming taken place.
I would definitely watch the show where these fellas had access to great equipment and materials, and given 3 days to build the ultimate scooter bike.

Enjoy this freedom while you can! Here in Europe we can't even change the exhaust...
Just thinking the same thing, live in the north of Europe where everything is rules rules, agenda 2030, and then more rules.

You men are not messing around. Very impressive.
This is some Mad Max engineering right here.
I had the same idea 😀
Lo, I thought the same thing!
Totally mad max ! Awesome !
The wood scooters are straight out of the Flintstones !
no i dont thonk so
i think there is some bad pigges player
Transporting wood, on wooden sleds, on a wooden rollercoaster.. Amazing!
There is like 1 documentary about them every year for the past 30 years....still going strong.
That rail motor belt drive platform is insanely modular, great engineering
What do they do when a train comes 😮
I love how it's all just kind of sitting there, not even the motor is bolted down.

Same thoughts exactly! 😂😂😂
Those scooters are so unique. Inovative, creative, and has a sense of style. One day I will visit and see these in real life one day.
The extra wheels will just add drag and decrease fuel efficiency , less miles for money.
These scooters are often seen in punk communities. The punk subculture is still alive in Indonesia.

That railcar thingy's got to be the shonkiest transportation device I've ever seen. "Hongda" engine. Obviously.
