You think apple would just add a switch - on/off voicemail since most people HATE IT. C'mon Apple make it EASY.

I called my carrier they told me how also you can turn it off and on if you download the carrier app from your account, you can go to voicemail turn it off or on, and set it up that’s the only way. there is no other way you cannot do it on the phone itself. It’s got to go through the carrier Apple did this.

Go to settings and click phone and scroll down live voicemail off

You must do it through the carrier (only) their app and your account. You cannot do it through the phone. If anybody tells you otherwise they are lying to you. I called my carrier and I was also called Apple. You cannot do it from the device. Apple did this on purpose. Don’t waste your time. Call your carrier download their app from your account you can do it.
