Tremors,The Goonies,Big Trouble In Little China,The Warriors,Lost Boys were all my guilty pleasures as a wee boy. I'm 40 next year and I still love them all. Absolute cult classics. RIP Fred Ward
Man, of all the Tremors movies Tremors 1 is by far the most awesome. That movie is definitely a perfect mix of horror, comedy, action all blended perfectly. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward(RIP Fred Ward) were perfect. I have watched Tremors probably over 20 times since the early 90s when i lived in Puerto Rico. A true cult classic, it never gets old, a masterpiece.
While I agree that the first is the best, as it usually is with most films, Tremors 3:Back to Perfection... was also very well done. But yes the original had a perfect blend of everything. Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon were such a great duo. Bert Gummer was another perfect example of a perfectly casted actor. Michael Gross was brilliant as Bert. Tremors was just a fun movie, with a perfect mix of everything.
Tremors is actually a masterpiece of filmmaking where everything came together perfectly. The script, cinematography, casting, special effects, sound design, score, everything. I hope people realise this more and more. Glad you were able to get Bacon on for this.
I was 4 years old when I watched Tremors on a VHS. Since english isn't my main language and I couldn't read very well at that time, I've tried so hard to figure what they were saying LMAO. I loved it very much, I've watched so many times that movie that the lady who rented us the VHS gifted it to me ahaha. It holds up very well until this date. It's crafted marvelously and I'm impressed how the time has been very gentle with this movie. Thanks to all the crew who made this movie possible.
blown away that it is considered cult. everyone I knew would be glued to the TV throughout the 90s, every single time it aired. It was an event to see with your entire family.
I was born in 1991 and my best friend born in 1990, we absolutely love tremors, its hilarious for us because we can relate, we were both kinda cowboys in our younger days and we both share the chemistry of Val and earl (RIP Fred Ward)
@@emperortrevornorton3119that’s not true at all.. we had Burt in the first movie.. we wouldn’t have gotten Grady however who in my opinion isn’t Val but he’s a great character in his own right
This is way to cool seeing Kevin doing interviews in 2020. What I find strange is, where is Fred Ward? Afterall, he did stick it out for 1 sequale. I wanna hear from him. lol Edit: 2024. RIP Fred Ward two years after this was posted it became a bit of a surprise he passed in 2022.
I'm glad that you found something to help you through your difficult times. Cancer can be and is a very scary diagnosis. Finding something that can help you laugh, even forget if only for 90 minutes is a great help. Keep fighting! Keep smiling and laughing! Your in my prayers. I recently got a medical diagnosis myself. My Mom had emphysema, severe COPD, and I learned I now have it myself. I took care of her for many years and she was my best friend. The last three years she was bedridden. We used to spend some nights watching 📼📼Video📼Tape📼📼 rentals. She loved horror movies. Freddy, Jason, Chucky, etc. Tremors helps me now as well. Tremors was Mom's perfect example of a fun movie. Watching it reminds me of how much fun those movie nights were. God Bless and take care.
Hahahah same here! And I always loved wearing boots, jeans, and either red shirts or denim work shirts so I could look just like Val😂😂. I was born in ‘96. So the first 2 Tremors were still somewhat fresh. And every game my friends and me played outside usually had something or another to do with Tremors😂😂 Amazing to think this movie was a bomb.
My kids are ten and twelve, and they love Tremors. We've seen them all. Too bad the TV series with Kevin Bacon never happened. He should be in the next movie (if they make one).
I loved this movie from moment one. The cast gave top notch performances. Seen this movie 20 times at least Probably more LOL. Excellent writing. Never seen Footloose but became fan of Mr Bacon because of this movie.
I remember when it came out and I never saw it…until yesterday, on CZcams. What an idiot I was for being a snob about it! I was so surprised, it’s great! Now I really wish I would have taken advantage of seeing it in the theater. Honestly, there are a bunch of great movies out there that didn’t get the credit they deserved, Tremors is high on that list. Love this movie, and Kevin Bacon is an icon of an actor! Terrific interview!
Kevin my brother I love your work even in the movies that bombed, you an awsome actor... And Yes Tremors is one of my favorite movies of my life.... KEEP up the excelent work....
I just watched there new one Shrieker Island and it was amazing! I really hope they bring back Michael Gross as Burt Gummer for one last one, where they can have him go out with a really big bang. Maybe have him with an even bigger gun like in a tank. With a couple of big really big explosions. Over all I did feel sad with the way they ended it in the last one, it was done well but didn't feel like a proper ending for poor Burt. Shriekers Island just felt so well put together and I think if they did one more they would have alot of fans going to see it. I hope there's more advertisement for it because I honestly didn't hear about Shrieker Island till I saw it for sale at walmart. Guys if you did want to see another Tremors movie make sure to comment on as many video's and websites as you can find so that we can hopefully convince them to do one last movie. Thank you everyone in the creation of these wonderful movies and for all the hard work you guys have put into the making of these movies.
You must have worked on that picture because the movie was terrible.. in a good way don’t get me wrong my mom and I enjoyed it but it definitely falls more in the cheesey goofy side the series had been heading in more of a way for Michael gross to secure a bag while playing a character he loved
Tremors is always been a gem in my heart, and I'm so happy Kevin Bacon was a part of it, he added so much life to Val, relationship between the two I wanted them to touch on more of it in the second and third movie but other than that it was a great series if you stop at 3, Michael Gross deserved a better send off
My dad showed me Tremors in the early 90s when I was 3 or 4 and I was hooked from then on. As soon as I'd see a new sequel at the rental store, I'd immediately ask my parents if we could watch it. I've kept up with the franchise all these years later and to see where it's gone after the first bombed at the box office is a feat in itself. As long as they keep making them, I'll continue to watch them. The only one I'd consider a 'low point' was 4. The rest have been phenomenal for what they are. I'll always love these movies and I hope they make more. Maybe we'll get lucky and see Val take on the worms one more time.
I was born in 1986, tremors and jurassic park will still always beat any monster movie untill directors learn that the characters matter. Not just fancy cgi. Make characters great again!
I still love Tremors and most of the sequels- though the first is the best. It's funny how most actors don't watch their own films at all and get so surprised when fans quote their favorite lines. Lol it's not like I expect Kevin Bacon to watch Tremors 100 times, but it still is funny. I can't count how many times I've seen this movie. I think the casting and writing were perfect! I don't know why critics didn't like it- I think they're wrong most of the tine anyway. I'm also surprised it didn't do better in the cinemas but I'm glad the people involved in this movie know how much the fans love it.
It's shift in popularity is easy to explain our social network at the time was word of mouth at school. A few of us saw this film and realized it's brilliance and told everybody and anybody that would listen. Those that heard continued the rental word of mouth cycle and it exploded or viral as we say today. We even played and pretended to be the characters creating our own desperate island scenarios in celebration of its fun zany brilliance. The marketing adults and studio heads had no idea the diamond in a rough they had created but we eventually figured it out for them, and the rest is they say is history!
I think that Tremors appeals top those of us in "Flyover Country", is that our day to day lives are filled with enough Hard Work, Drama, Sacrifice, and Heartbreak, and other "Real Stuff" that we have to just "Get Through", that a film like Tremors is just Pure Entertainment, that needs no Understanding, Analysis, or really any Deep Thought, to "peel" away the Layers and Nuance, like an onion to "Truly Understand" what the film is "saying". It's a pleasant and enjoyable "Escape" from day to day life, and simply that. There is Plenty in our everyday lives that we can cry, and be Unhappy About, and we(Actually Anybody/Everybody) can sure as Hell use the escapism that Tremors offers up, quite nicely. It requires no "Deep Thought or Angst Filled Analysis" to understand and enjoy. Tremors Ain't That Deep, well made, with a Fine Ensemble Cast, Plus it's just Good Old Fashioned Fun
Kevin's interview disappointed me...you need to know TREMORS was an awesome movie. Dennis and I saw it on Syfy, our first movie together. I loved creature movies and it surprised me he liked it, too! It wound up our favorite movie throughout our 23 year marriage. But more credit needs to be given to other characters, as it was the combination of them that made this movie the awesome one it was and still is!!!
As much as I'd love to see Val's role reprised ... It's really hard to imagine "Tremors" without Michael Gross ... Kevin Bacon is probably one of the only actors who could make it work.

The problem I have It was stated by many people he thought the movie was a joke, you would think after Tremors he would have been happy to do the second film.He thought it was beneath him to do a film like this. I was looking forward to seeing him In Tremors two.I think he highly underestimated this film now Its a classic....and to talk about It 20 plus years later Is just a joke. If he had done these movies he would have been collecting earnings every time Its bought or watched on tv..He kind of blew It maybe I'm wrong..........
It seems to me that he wants something that’s just beyond him. He’s a fine actor, but he wants to be whatever that next level is. I can admire that from a professional standpoint, but he indeed comes off kind of petty about his work that wasn’t deemed a blockbuster. I agree, I wanted to see him in the second, but Fred Ward was awesome in it! I think Kevin is now seeing Tremors in a different light and wanting back on that wagon. Frankly I’m glad the reboot TV series didn’t happen
He decided to do Apollo 13 instead, which I think is impossible to disagree with. Nominated for 9 Oscars (won 2) and starred Tom Hanks with a director by the name of Ron Howard. I love Tremors and wished Val (and Earl and Rhonda and Heather) would have returned many times but if he picked Tremors 2 over Apollo 13, he would have been a bona fide moron.
Tremors 1 is BELIVABLE. And I desagree is not scary. First time I saw it I was afraid the characters would be eaten by something under the floor. I like it the first time I saw it. I guess if it had been in the cinema/theather - I would enjoy it the same.
Tremors couldn't have shown Kevin's Acting Ability any better. It's kind of fitting that a Cult Movie like Tremors came along when he needed it the most.....It Bombed initially, so what. Tremors did something that NONE of the Utter and Absolute Drek that comes out of Hollyweird currently. It withstood the test of time, and, in fact, became, like Good Wine, Better With Age, while the current onslaught of Abysmal Remakes, Ridiculous Sequels, Prequels, Adaptations, and other Poor Excuses that can only point out the Absolute LACK of Talent and Imagination. If the current Nit Wits had an original thought, which I will argue is "Literally Impossible", they'd run away screaming, with their hair on fire, never to be seen again. That is just how Bereft Of Originality, today's Films have become. When a Schlock Cinematic, "Misplaced Placenta" like Barbie is such a Hit, it tells you just how Hungry and Desperate that modern audiences are for anything even vaguely resembling Original And Entertaining Films.
Well I know why, because it was CENTERED on the heartland and about regular people, and representation means a lot. The only bad thing about Tremors was the editing for television..."I repeat, there are two more mother humpers"
Life is a journey with a lot of "timing" thrown in. I'm sure if his last few movies after Footloose didn't bomb. He wouldn't even have been approached with the Tremors job. He needed a job to add some $$$ to the bank account and told his Agent the same. And the rest is history.
"Tremors" is still one of his best movies and it holds up beautifully. Show's you that you never know... :P
He says that now but he treated it like it was his worst film ever because he didn't make $1000000 on it

Tremors is JAWS on land. Great movie in it's own right, but people shouldn't have any trouble describing it. :)
Stop using autofocus for interviews and stop down your lens. Very distracting.
Kevin Bacon is in my 2 favorite horror movies Friday 13th and Tremors lets not talk about Hollow Man even though I liked it
I wish universal would just start over at tremors 5. That’s when it became unwatchable.
Well I know why, because it was CENTERED on the heartland and about regular people, and representation means a lot. The only bad thing about Tremors was the editing for television..."I repeat, there are two more mother humpers"
Il primo avuto un successo per me finisce al terzo, il resto non conta
I understand his decision but if he would of knew the cult following for tremors...we love them bad or good..
all of them are bad. But do is Jaws. We still enjoy them all
Life is a journey with a lot of "timing" thrown in. I'm sure if his last few movies after Footloose didn't bomb. He wouldn't even have been approached with the Tremors job. He needed a job to add some $$$ to the bank account and told his Agent the same. And the rest is history.
Babylon 5 changed the game on tv as far as cgi effects round the same time Tremors came out...🤔
No need to be ashamed, KB.
