My weight loss odyssey has plateaued slightly the past couple weeks but watching Cody’s videos (even when he’s sick and/or baking a cake) continues to motivate me to keep going and trust the process. I’m down 147 pounds as of writing so I need to remember how far I’ve already come and not get down on myself when the scale doesn’t move as fast as it did before. I’m still getting faster and stronger with my workouts so performance continues to improve. Choo choo and congrats on the baby or whatever

Real quick, this week i finished the Chicago half marathon. I've trained for it for 8 months and I just want to say to Cody that this channel is more than just a fitness channel. It happens to be a realistic understanding of both the highs and lows one goes through when it comes to individual health. I've lost over 55 lbs on this journey and I just want to say thank you for posting and motivating all of us. Cody, you have single handely help change my life and perspective of what I want for my self. Not only that, but a couple of job opportunities have fallen in my lab and I'm just grateful for all of it. This year has been a very transformative one to say the least. Also, congrats on the pregnancy to the two of you. Also, shoutout to the community that has been encouraging me along the lay. Choo Choo!!!
Bro, these videos are amazing, I was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor after I got back from Afghanistan, I was medically separated from the army, and the chemo, treatment and mental toll ruined my health, you've really inspired me to get back to being fit, and even started posting videos on here too keep myself accountable ⚔️
I started running in January not being able to run for longer than 30 seconds. Yesterday I ran my first ever 10k in an hour and 2 minutes!!! It’s a really emotional feeling to do things I never thought I’d be able to do. Thanks for your weekly inspo! Happy birthday Kelsey!!
I completed my first half marathon two days ago because of this channel. I signed up four months ago and trained my ass off, starting at only being able to run 3 miles. So proud of myself and love this channel

I noticed you get sick a lot (I do too!) This might sounds really weird, but I’d recommend going to an immunologist and having them run a pnemoccocal antibody blood panel. If your concentrations are low, you might be more susceptible to different common colds and illnesses! If they say you’re low, they’ll give you a pneumococcal vaccine and your levels should go up. Also, I’d recommend getting a Covid booster in 6 months once your resistance starts to dwindle after being sick these past few weeks, just so you don’t get Covid again! You reallyyyy don’t wanna be bringing it around a baby. Breathing treatments could help with any crud left over in your lungs, but I hope you heal up fully soon enough!
I am so happy for y’all!!!! You’ve inspired me to take up running again. Ever since your Ironman video I felt like I had no excuses to not get back into running! Today I ran my first 5K in 10 years. Very happy about it and made me realize that I can get back to it even if it’s slowly. Just hoping that the weather stays nice for longer, not sure how much longer I have to be able to run outdoors here in Toronto. Just gonna keep going! :)
Honestly, so encouraged to see that guy have a heart rate of 193 like that. My heart rate tends to be very high (in the 190's). With some slower zone 2 training I have started to bring it down a bit but even still. I was getting all worked up so I got my heart scanned, and regularly track it, and I am fine. Just nice to be reminded that we are all different and your normal can be much different than the "benchmark". I find 180's I am totally fine, and can still chat easy while running!
I'M FINALLY DOING IT. I've been wanting to be more active and start working out for a good while now. A couple weeks ago I started watching the channel and I bought some running shoes and have been absolutely loving it. I ran 3 miles my first day (terrible idea, I was sore for about 3 days) and now I'm just focusing on keeping my heart rate down for mile long runs until I can do more. Each day I feel more confident and these videos are like rocket fuel. I've been a fan for years, TMG subscriber since it started, it's about time I hop on the train. Choo Choo! P.S. I'm so stoked to see Kelsey get her cake hahaha
just wanted to say i was so happy to see headspace as a sponsor for cody trains!! I've been using headspace for years as an introduction to meditation and its made a huge impact in my life. I was also inspired by the vlogs to start running consistently and I've stuck to my schedule (2 miles 3x per week nothing crazy) for the last month which has been huge for me and my mental health. So great to see the vlogs now shouting out headspace which I love so much. choo choo!
Would love to hear more about how you controlled panic attacks. Exercise helps, meditation helps, but what else did you do to help your mental health? Thank you!
Hey Cody, I just want to say thank you for all the amazing content. Not just on this channel, but on all of your channels. You entertain me every day of the week! I ran my first marathon 5 years ago when I was 18, and then just completely stopped running after that. I think my brain works in the same way as yours (or at least like how you've described it), where I need like a specific goal to motivate me to work out. This channel helped me find that motivation, and at the start of the year I decided to once again start training for a marathon. That marathon was yesterday, and unfortunately it didn't quite go as planned. I don't know if it was a mental thing, but I just simply couldn't run and was unable to complete it. Of course, I was pretty devastated afterwards: I've been training for months, and I think the stress just got to my head these last few weeks. BUT this time I'm not gonna call it quits and forget about running for the next 5 years. Seeing you improve but also struggling with training and motivation are a great reminder that everyone goes through ups and downs in training, and I think that's just what I need right now. So once again thank you - you keep me and a lot of other people going! (choo choo)
For the first time in my life at 42 I did my first run at Banff this past Saturday. I also had covid 2 weeks before the race and thought I couldn't do the run. Thanks for being an inspiration!
cody, after months of watching your videos and feeling more and more inspired, i finally downloaded 'couch to 5k' which is an app from our nhs in the uk that takes you through 9 weeks of excerises to get you to be able to run a 5k. i'm on my second week and i am so proud of myself. i never thought i was a running type of girl, i do 10 mins of yoga everyday and walk to and from places but actual intense exercises? i always thought that they were never for me and it was so unachievable. but that first week of doing short 20 minute exercises made me feel like i can actually do something that i thought i couldnt. i'm now excited to go out and try the next run, this week it is 90 second runs with 2 minute walking intervals, its hard for me but so gratifying when i actually complete it. thank you for uploading these videos showing that exercise isnt just about the activity but how it can fulfil you. choo choo all the way baby!!!

I am currently sidelined from training for the time being recovering from a lower back injury. Getting there day by day and was able to go for a walk without a walking stick for the first time in a week and a half this past Friday. The only thing keeping me motivated is that last year when I had a similar injury, it took me three weeks to even be able to sit and walk comfortably. The difference being that this year I am 10x more active than last year and have really dedicated 2023 to training. I feel better about myself and about life with many less aches and pains.
