Oh my oh my! This is one of the best cello concertos ever composed! Absolutely love the last movement! What a divine moment, what a joy!
Vivaldi always sounds SO MODERN to me for some reason. When I first heard Vivaldi when I was 14, it was his "Four Seasons: Winter", and I thought it from was a modern composer because it sounds so modern.

He was a man ahead of his time. One of those people who are never truly appreciated until they are dead.
I was 7 when I first heard his compositions. I’m 32 now, they still blow me away, don’t feel the need for drugs. Lol.
@@shrekogreson7580I think it is because Vivaldi discovered many modern ideas in his time but due to the intellectual restrictions of the time he did not develop them.
for example, the spontaneous transmission and flow of notes in sixteenth notes so typical of hard rock and metal. Vivaldi uses this resource in many compositions such as the four seasons, the follia and this one.
The 3/8 meter so typical of Boogie wogie, jazz and other irregular rhythms was also discovered in the Baroque and Vivaldi used it in some compositions, but he never used it for the reasons described above, intellectual restrictions

No, it isn’t. That sound is produced by two baroque instruments: the archlute and the theorbo

Nope, he is playing on a baroque cello in baroque tuning. The lower bridge, lower tension of the strings, as well as using gut strings, brings a whole different tone to the inatrument.
