@@housegarrett yep. you gotta keep in mind that when he made that promise, goku was kind of dumb since he had lived by himself in the mountains. hell, at the time, Goku could barely tell the difference between a man and a woman.

Talking about meeting parents or grand parents when they were young, my adopted grand dad who taught me about God and how to respect women, who was an old white dude born in the 30s. I don't think we would've liked each other, especially from the 30s he was around when racism was "an acceptable thing" and me dating a girl of a different race would've been a interesting conversation.

Second, the quote doesn't really look at it from the other side. Often times in order to keep freedom, you have to not be at peace. So actually, you can very easily separate peace from freedom.

Trunks I love ya your one of my favs but dude you really screwed to pooch on telling them about the androids not only did you not tell them what they looked like but then you tried use the excuse that you were a baby, yes you were baby when they killed everyone, but you went with Gohan to fight them when you were a teen and then when you achieved SSJ after Gohan died and you fought them so you had enough time to specifically describe how they look like, and now there is another android you missed.
