      Also, my Dr prescribed me Metformin + Fetermin + Phentermine? Mentioned intermittent fasting as well, which I was happy about that advice, but meds they scare me. I do check my blood, after eating spinach, mushroom eggs scramble this morning 10:30 a.m. I was at (86). 4 hours later not sure what to eat, but open to learn more.... 🙏

    Five steps;
    1. Intermittent fasting
    2. Apple Cider Vinegar before bedtime in water. One tablespoon diluted in water. Cold water is best for me.
    3. Take a walk in the morning before eating breakfast.
    4. Good sleep.
    5. Reduce stress.

      @@Romulan112 Yes and no I just control it with what I eat and intermittent fasting. But my Dr calls diet controlled he wants to check my A1c at least once a year in December 22 it was 5.2 that is for over 2 year now. 🙂

    Hi Kate! Feb2021 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with a A1C of 14.6. I lowered it to 5.8 by May2021 and finally to 5.5 by Nov2021 all with never taking any medication. Your tips and tricks helped a lot so just wanted to say thank you 🙏🏻

      @@Troyboy2121 if you want to bring your blood sugar down quickly, you can do a 3 day water fast….. no meds. Let your doctor first as good measure. Then follow up with only healthy food. Change your eating life and try to only eat home cooked good food.

    Wow! Great information, Kait. I am currently off on stress leave from work - my HgbAIC was highest it has ever been!! We talk alot about stress, but I tell ya, reducing stress, I have learned, is about the environments I am in. All the meditation, breathwork, exercise, etc could not help my body amidst ... Removal of self from the abusive, toxic work environment is what I had to do. Self care is my job right now and so glad I cam across you!! Thank you😊

    Hi Kait I agree with others that your videos are being pushed out more. I just found your videos last month but have been binge watching m any after a 2 week vacation out of the country. My a1c was 6.4 at my physical on 1/30 and I'd gained 35lbs since my physical 12 months prior. I was prescribed metformin which I refuse to take. I prayed talked to my 5 siblings who all but one had the similar yrs prior. To the point I started IF, lowered my carbs cut out all sugary foods and began walking on t by e treadmill for 45 min 5 days a week. I don't eat out during the business weekdays but never have. I've lost 26lbs so far I don't know I w what my a1c is now but I feel better I get better sleep, less stress I'm 55 retiring next year and can't wait to have my a1c tested again. Oh I fast 20 hrs a day on week days and 116-18 on Saturday and Sunday. Your videos are amazing my mother was an insulin dependent diabetic for 33 years she passed at 83 but not from diabetic complications. I wish I knew all over learned in the last 4 months about the disease I'm sure I could've help her get rid of the medication.

    Hi Kait, I discovered your video's just before Christmas and have learned a lot. I think it's the way you present and describe the affects of the things we eat and when we eat them. My NY res was to start to pay attention and change my diet quite a bit. I'm getting close to 60 and have all the symptoms of insulin resistance. I actually changed my diet significantly after Christmas and I can feel the difference already. The longest I can fast for is 12 hours as I am on medication for BP and epilepsy (brain tumour). I had 90% of my left temporal lobe removed 5 and 1/2 years ago and since then just put on weight due to lack of ex and simply eating the wrong foods. I'm on a low Carb's diet now and have locked the fridge between meals to stop the snacking, it's a tricky thing because I don't work now. I'm happy to say that I do feel and look better already. Looking in the mirror I see myself ten years younger!!!

    Hi, KAIT.....Just watched your 5 ways to lower A1C. Loved it. My test in October 'was 11.3. Ate better & test a few days ago reduced that to 9.7. That said, I'm gonna implement your program as my health is becoming atrocious. I have foot neuropathy, sleep apnea, CHF, anemia & COPD just to name a few things. At 86, I might only have a few years left but longevity is a FAMILY TRAIT SO i WANT TO GET BETTER..and BE BETTER! I've subscribed to you & appreciate what you said. Thanks....Paul Maguire 4/30/23

    Hi Kait, Glad you posted this helpful tip. I had a test three months ago and will be following up with another soon. It sits at 5.7 which was disappointing but looking at the other blood tests there's been massive improvement with kidney and liver panels back to normal and when I think about it, it's a good sign that Intermittent fasting, along with prolonged fasting has helped me get where I am. Having had a distal pancreatomy the likelihood of type 3c diabetes is inevitable and my aim was to lessen the impact. Apparently there is a 3 year window when this will occur, I am almost at the three year mark since surgery and I am hoping that with steadfast effort I will be able to keep it under control. I am so grateful this journey has been made easier to achieve with great tips. You are right about electrolytes and what a hassle it is to find one without sugar. Thank you.

    This video was helpful. I have to take better care of myself as type 2 Diabetic. I have really screwed myself up. I live USA in Northern California. Just before Thanksgiving 2022, my right eye went blurry. I went to the ER. and was treated for migraine and high blood pressure. The eye was still blurry. My eye doctor told me, on November 22, 2022, I had a nerve 3 palsy, which my optic nerve went lame. My right eye was down and out. Blurry vision and double vision. I cleared on having no stroke and no anuerysm. The cause was high blood sugar. My A1c was 10. I started going to the doctor again in August 2022 and my A1c was 13. My A1c last month was 8. My eye is healing and my blood sugar is back in normal range with medication, diet, and exercise. I had to do CT imaging scan, for an aneurysm at Renown hospital in Reno Nevada during a huge spike in COVID, RSV, and flu. I got really sick after that. Lesson learned. To the diabetics and prediabetics, stay on course and disciplined. The damage is not good.

      I was diagnosed with diabetes about three months ago. I started intermittent fasting and stopped eating carbs - no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, starchy veg, milk, corn and other grains. I've increased my fat intake which is yum. I've lost 10kg and my fasting blood sugar has dropped from 6.6 to 4.3. It wasn't very hard. You can do it too.

      I know what you mean. I had my doctors appointment on June 4, 2024 and my results of my A1c came back a 6. This really is scary to me and don't want to be a diabetic. I just started going on a low carb diet and now drinking apple cider vinegar hoping this will help. The comments here of people with their results gives me a lot of hope!

    Hi Kait. My A1c is now 5.3 thanks to all the advice and tips you have given. I don't go out to walk as often as I should but I have been running and jumping on the spot every morning for about 5 minutes.
    Eating more protein & fibre. No food other than black and herbal tea after 8.00pm. light breakfast around 8.00am no food till about 14.00pm etc.

    Thank your for your wonderful presentation on A1c. I am 25 years old with 50 years of life experience (meaning I am 75 years old). Couple of months ago, a nurse from SCAN insurance company came to my house to update my health data in their system. She used her equipment to measure my A1c. After the test, she was pleased. My A1c was (if I remember it correctly) around 4.7. At the time, I was doing intermittent fasting where throughout the day I was drinking beet juice (organic beet boiled), Saved its cooked part knowing its oxalate was gone for my meal time with some other vegetable, eggs, sardine., etc.
    After cooling the beet juice, I squeezed lime (not lemon) and added some cream of tartar (for potassium) and some pink salt (for minerals) to it.
    One of my possible downfalls recently knowing I am in clear with Aic, I have indulged myself having a few dates after my first meal of the at about noon, These dates are from Trader Joes not Human Dates. I am possibly over doing it; this background information is for the following question.
    Question: What option are there available to check my A1C?
    Scan has good online (for over the counter) medication and supplies. I may be able to get one of the products hopefully you will recommend. This way, I don't have to go to my PCP to check my A1c.

    I wish to express my deepest gratitude for all the insightful and concise information you provide, which is remarkably easy to comprehend. Your guidance has been instrumental in reducing my A1C from 5.9 to 5.6, as well as improving my cholesterol levels. Having blood tests is always a nerve-wracking experience for me. About one or two months ago, when I didn't hear back from the doctor regarding my results, I was perplexed and filled with apprehension. When I finally contacted my doctor, I was informed that they didn't reach out because all my blood results were in the normal range. I was genuinely taken aback.
    Interestingly, I didn't make drastic changes to my diet, just minor, subtle ones. The most beneficial advice that you provided, I believe, was the encouragement to fast during the night. As a night owl who meets with global clients in the night, it was quite common for me to eat something around 3 am. This was a habit I picked up during my 12 years in the medical field when I worked night shifts and had my meals at such odd hours. Hence, nocturnal eating seemed quite normal to me.
    However, following your advice, I started fasting from around midnight until about 2-3 pm. There are nights when I slightly break my fast, usually with something high in protein, but for the most part, I manage to fast through. If I falter and break a fast, I don't dwell on it negatively, instead, I aim to do better the next time.
    I genuinely feel that this fasting regime, occasional apple cider vinegar, and the strategy of pairing proteins with carbs played a significant role in reducing my A1C. Having achieved this, I now appreciate the healing power of food, and the importance of feeding ourselves correctly, especially for those of us dealing with insulin resistance.
    The wisdom you have shared surpasses any advice I've received from a doctor or dietitian. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation and acknowledge you as a true blessing and a gift from God. I am certain that your guidance is saving many lives, as it has mine. Please continue doing this incredible work. I cannot thank you enough, and I am not certain if I could have made these strides without your support.

Dealing with diabetes is not an easy task and in this insane society who doesn’t educate well people how to eat properly and how to stay healthy. This person wrote from the bottom of her heart how frustrated she was trying to stay healthy. But doctors who should educate their patients to eat and do the right things only offer a bandaid to control diabetes but is not they best interest to cure it… that is not profit for them…. So I am very happy that many are awakening about this muster who it can be control without evil meds… 🤔🤔🤔

      @@bluev2srt Great job! I started body building about 4 months ago. I train heavy 6 days a week and do about 4 hours of cardio weekly. After my huge drop its goes down slowly but I feel the training helps. Also Kait mentions red light therapy a lot. My gym luckily has a red light therapy booth that I stand in for 12 minutes daily. In my opinion it makes a huge difference in my overall health and blood sugar levels!! Keep it up my friend. You're going to reach your goals!

    Love your channel! My glucose reading was 74. I ate an apple and 1/4 cup of macadamia nuts and now it is 115 after 2 hours. Been doing the 22/2 fasting and I have never feel better! The 74 reading spooked me. I really don’t want to go lower than 85.

    Good video Kait. I had a A1C of 13 in 10/2020. Got placed on Metformin and latter Faxiga which lowered it 6.7 after 6 months. Then after going on a low carb diet and starting intermittent fasting it got down to 5.0. Got off the drugs and have been doing well ever since.

      @@MariaSocorro- I take the apple cider vinager a half hour before a meal and then before going to bed. Taking it before meals is supposed to slow down the release of carbs and taking it a night is supposed lower morning blood sugar spikes.

    Hi from DFW,
    I just learned after being sick for a while that I have DKA😢. It has changed my life overnight. My A1C is 14, well that's as high as the hospital could measure 😢😢.
    I am walking and want to try intermittent fasting. I am on a long-term insulin and not sure if I should do a fasting right now.

    my A1c was 9.6. I started drinking AVC and 18-6 intermittent fasting. I stopped high intensity exercise, and started walking. The last blood panel my A1c was 4.6

    My a1C = 5.7 down from 6.1. I have lowered carbs, if, food order, checking blood sugar, quit sugary margaritas, for the most part. I need to drink acv at night, I hate it so much though, and start working out again in the am. Nice video!

    My A1C was tested at 14.0 on 08/22/22 After getting serious about lowering carbs and practicing time restricted eating, my results on 11/30/22 were 7.3. Still high but my daily average blood glucose test have lowered since then and I hope my next A1C is even lower.

      **waynewood,** - My a1c was getting up there as well (7.5), and I went Keto - with the complete ellimination of carbs for an entire year. This, along with ceasing *all sugar* foods. My favorite were the Little Debbie peanut butter wafers where I'd put one packet in my lunchbox, each workday. I stopped sugar in my coffee, along with halting cheap berads and wheat stuffs. I only buy SOLA bread at $5.40 a loaf and what a game changer. I eat french toast every-other day and lunch sandwiches everyday as well.
      After 2 years of researching keto, reports were that "Birchbenders" pancake mix is perfect for keto so, I slam 4 pancakes with butter on my Saturday and Sunday breakfast's. I sometimes cheat with a little jelly or maple syrup on them.
      This is great, because I can eat away and still lose weight with the right foods.
      One comment for me was, "Well, you shouldn't drink alcohol, it raises your sugar."
      Sure, but my response was, "I work it off by chewing and using my jaw muscles alot."
      Then I told him, "Some burn-off alcohol by fighting in bars, but that's not me."
      That bloke hasn't bothered me since....lol
      My a1c is now 5.4, and has stayed there for two years. I'm sure I could get it lower but I like my couple shots of whiskey and beer after work....lol!

      UPDATE: my employer provides a diabetes “assistant” program that supplies a monitor, test strips, and mail in A1C testing. I got my results from the last A1C and I’m down to 6.3! So I get an A1C from my doctor and then a follow up from the program about a month later. So I’ve went from 7.3 to 6.3 in a little over a month!

      @@macaronblanc9522 well, mostly just cut out carbs and sugar and I’m not counting carbs but again I’m not eating many either. No apples, only berries, no potatoes, rice, mostly protein and salads.

      Hi Kait awesome video I just came across your channel. I do all of the things you are talking about here but my insulin is still a bit high and the morningl, number are all over the place, it reads anywhere from 115 to 130 in the mornings sometimes 1.44. My doctor said my metabolisium is slow. I don't have the symptoms of diabetes like, excess thirst, having to go urinate all the time, sugar cravings etc etc. As a matter of fact I don't have a sweet tooth and I eat lowcarb. My first meal is between 12/2.00pm and second at 7 or 8.00 sometimes a little strawberries, blueberrie or a cup of plain tea around 10.00 with a little Xytoil. I hardly feel hungry, I have no gallbladder and I had a complete hysterectomy. I am thinking its my thyroid but my doc said its not and would not give a referal for endocrinologist. I really don't know what else to do, now my BP is going up from worrying.BTW what is the name of the electrolite you are talking about? Sorry about this long comment! God bless!

    August 1st 2022 I started my lifestyle change and gave myself roughly 90 days. Prior to that I was at a horrid 12.3 A1C….almost insulin dependent and didn’t really know I was diabetic until the symptoms started to present themselves. Hence beginning the august goal. Mid November I went to get my blood work again and this time A1C was at a solid 5.9! Started eating much healthier, leafier darker greens, nothing white or only 10 percent at least (white bread, white pasta, white rice etc) started eating whole wheats, black rices, brown rices, brown pastas etc. stopped ALL form of liquid sugar and desserts! No sodas, sugared teas, smoothies! Juices! All gone and just as important I started lifting and doing light cardio 4 times a week. Everything helps ladies and gentlemen. Definitely also started drinking a couple cups of apple cider vinegar with my meals.

      Wow what exactly did you do to go from 7.2 to 5.2 Because I don’t want to take metfomin meds but my A1C is 6.6 and need to bring it down to at least 5.7 quickly so I can avoid damaging my kidneys by having high blood sugar. What did you eat ? And what did you cut out of diet .? If I may ask 😢🙏🙏🙏

      @@maddylove9241 when I wake up I walk my doggy for 1 hr to reduce blood glucose in the morning. Drink 1 litre of water to stay hidrated with apple cider vinegar or a dash of lime. I only drink tea until my first meal of the day. Around 11ish I eat heaps of crusiferous veggies (broccoli, brussel sprouts, sparragus, cauliflower, capsicum, bok choy, green beans, etc) with a greek salad and a fatty cut of meat or three eggs. For meat I eat rid eye, nice beef patties and suasages from my local butcher. Around 200 grams of protein. Always chuck an avocado to the salad. For snacks I eat maccadamias or almonds. If I have a sweet craving I eat half a cup of berries with a bit of thickened cream and a bit of monk fruit. I eat bacon and eggs for dinner with a side of salad and another avocado. Sometimes I fryed some haloumi ot eat a bit of gouda. Not too much. For dessert I have mouthful of peanut butter. Finish with a cup of tea sweeten with monk fruit and a dash of thickened cream. I only cook with olive oil, avodado oil, ghee and butter. I do 20 min calesthenics every second day after work. I only drink on the weekned. Only whiskey with soda and a dash of lime or low carb beers. Only three drinks max. If I had a big wekend I do a 24 hour fast. In my head I think I am making up for the damage. I try to practice social sports like tennis or volleyball on the weekend. I hope this helps

      @@mzquanimonroe that is gestation diabetes. It is way different than the regular one. As soon as you have your baby it will goes away. Just keep a healthy diet… eat good fiber to keep the sugar low and exercise so you can have a good labor… my daughter also had this type of diabetes and that is how she keep her blood sugar under control… just monitoring it in the morning before bkfst and at bed time before bed. Keep a notebook of it and drink a lot of water and stay active… stay away from high carbs diet please… Good luck with your baby… ❤️🙏🥰Shalom 🙏😊

    I’m working towards lowering. I changed my eating habits by removing daily sugar treats and wearing a glucose monitor. Since January 6th. About six weeks. Also watching carbs, the monitor was/is amazing learning tool for seeing what foods impact my blood sugar. I haven’t added intermittent fasting, not quite there. March 1st is install date. I’m hesitate because it works but in the past, I didn’t maintain and the poor habits and weight came back. My literal health at stake and I have the power to avoid getting diabetes.       Fasting is the best way to reverse insulin resistance, but if you are using insulin there is no point. The reason fasting is effective is because it LOWERS insulin and allows your cells to become sensitive to it again. If you use insulin and don’t eat it’s going to cause your blood sugar to drop too low which is why they tell you not to do it.

    Tested at diabetic A1c levels last spring. Cut out artificial sweeteners (Sucralose, etc.) do intermittent fasting occasionally, try to eat when I'm hungry and not eat out of boredom, and also do a low-carb/keto approach to eating most days. My fasting glucose has gone from in the 170s to anywhere from 85 to 120, depending on the day, and the stress level. Actually getting my bloodwork done again next week. Anxious to see how my levels look. I am not a perfect specimen of making the best food choices by a long shot, but I also know that I do not want to spend the rest of my life being a slave to insulin or pharmaceuticals, so I do my best to only fall off the rails occasionally :)

My A1C was NOT as lowered as I thought it would be - 7.4 to 6.9, but he said it was better, and no medications required, so I will just keep working on it. When I make the better food choices, fasting sugar (before lunch) has been in the higher 80s. If I eat crap food, it is up around 105-110 (the day after the suspect eating has occurred). My vitamin D was SIGNIFICANTLY low, so I have started taking that daily, and since doing a lot of keto for several months, my cholesterol was high, but I expected that. I've still got some tweaking to do, but I'll get there!!

    My A1c was 5.7 in October, the first time it's ever been remotely this high. My doctor wasn't concerned, but I'm determined not to get full blown diabetes, especially with the trouble I've been having testing my blood sugar at home. For whatever reason, I don't bleed enough! So I have to get this under control so I don't have to stick myself 14 times to get a single reading.

However, I was disappointed last week when my A1C went up to 5.9 so I'm thinking to increase IF 20/4 window or go omad. I'm a work in progress but determined 😊

    My HbA1c is 5.3. Can you make a video regarding the damage sugar causes to the eyes? My blood sugars are nornal but I'm certain my eyes are more blurry and sensitive to light on days when I consume more sugar than usual

      I just threw away two different brands of berberine into the garbage after reading "other ingredients," like hypomellose, and other toxins, I actually had a reaction, hypomellose is harmful to the eyes in some people....

    Thanks for the easily implemented hacks. Keto and intermittent fasting has been my life style for 8 mo. I'm 73 years old. I checked my hb A1c after 3 wks of keto. I was down to 5.4 from 5.7. I didn't start losing weight till 6 mo. Into keto and IF. I have lost 16 lbs. Will be checking my hba1c every month till I'm sure it's down far enough. My glucose was 111 on my recent blood test.

      Yes... and just forget about the "pre" part. You have diabetes, period.
      But you absolutely can reverse it completely and quickly, in just a few months. I am older, shorter and heavier than you, and dropped my A1C from 6.2 to 5.2 in 14 weeks (3.5 months!) without meds. I hadn't discovered this wonderful coach's videos yet, but did all of her points (found by other excellent CZcams doctors and health people). Her points are solid and proven. Wish you the best! ❤

      keep an eye on it. I had the same results until i became relaxed and stared eating whatever and A1C went up to 9.5

    Thank you so much. I've just recently found out that my sugar has been sometimes a little high and sometimes too high. I've been doing a lot of searches on this naturally so that I don't have to be put on any medication. I go to the fitness center on the bike usually about six days a week. I apparently have been eating a lot more carbs the bad carbs then I should have throughout the years. I am 71 years old I'm going to really work at it.

    👋 Thank you for the great info you made it sound easier than i thought to incorporate some changes. I am a newly diagnosed diabetic. And if i can make some changes that work i will not have to take medicine. Since i usually start eating after 8 and don’t eat after 7 I will start with that as my intermittent fasting time. And i will incorporate a 10 min walk on my break. And incorporate the rest. 😊

    Mine started from 7.9 and diagnosed with diabetese last yr. They diagnosed it during my 3rd miscarriage. But after a few months of careful eating and control with medications, i managed to bring it down to 6.4 currently.

    Ive been on keto for 4-5 month and have trouble getting my BS below 100 , but yesterday after having green tea with my eggs and sausage took a brisk walk maybe only 10min. but 2 hours after that meal BS checked at 93,, felt really great and a bit surprised at that number.

    Lovely video glad watch and get some tips for my mother diabities. She now feels dry mouth, headaches and nausea I thing its her blood pressure being affected by stress. We have to care for my bed bound 33y/o brother who was almost drop from the stairs as paramedics were assisting a lift assist since our apartment complex elevator been broken

    Hi Kait, l enjoyed you’re video. Simple and informative. Taking a tbsp of account before meals lowers my glucose readings. I eat lots of protein before eating any carbs. Yeh number one thing to lower A1c is resistance exercise.

    In October my number had crept up to 6, so have been doing IF most days. Sometimes my numbers were very high by noon. But I just checked before eating, after about about 16 hours and my blood glucose was 75! So happy!

      And the key is to eat fat and protein so a huge spike doesn't occur when you break your fast.

      @@lox3csimiami22 how do you figure out that your A1C was lowered to 5.6? Did you get tested back at the doctors? I'm going to make these changes and looking at how I can check after a month.

      @@patriciah.4365 yes I got retested at the doctors. My doctor wanted me back for a follow up. I’m not in any medication. My doctor wants me managed on diet/exercise, so I’ve changed the way I eat and I walk daily.
