Honestly, I´m 35 and I would NEVER wanna be 25 again. No way in hell, nonono. It gets SO MUCH BETTER. 30s are lit. The confusion and the messiness is out of the window. You come into your own. I would not want to trade that in ever ever. I also now look younger than I did at 25 somehow. Survived the burnout, anxiety lessened. It shows.

@@raphaelmotta7630 Yo, time draaaaagged on when I was in my twenties. It took me AGES to get to 30. And then I blinked and 5 years passed. You simply stop fretting and just allow yourself to have what you want. You learn to love yourself enough to give in to your dreams and your purpose. Purpose is an unraveling. Not a sudden insight that you then follow for the rest of your life. It only gets better. Promise.

I'm turning 21 this summer and because of the pandemic I had to go back to living with my parents and it really doesn't feel like I'm not a teenager anymore (apart from my inner self who is way more mature than just 3 years ago 😅)

i think there was a big difference in dear 25 vs dear 30. when she was younger it was a lot more anxiety about the future (which is understandable because im at that stage right now) and, im just assuming, now it just feels more like, "life is always changing and progressing and im curious as to what is waiting for me and whether its good or bad, i accept that". and that's a really amazing way to look at that future.

I’m only 16 but I’m so afraid of getting older (I make this face everytime I think about ageing) and turning thirty to me sounds kind of terrifying because you are supposed to be an adult by then and I can’t imagine me being having a stable job and an own apartment or even buying my own house and all that stuff... so this video made me really emotional
It’s so hard to understand how when I watch 30 year old dodie react to this, I will be 21. I’ve been watching her and listening to her since I was 12. I truly feel like we’ve grown up together even though we’ve never met. Dodie’s music has helped me through so much and I hope it will always be that way :)

2) i learned to drive in an auto car first for a while and then learned on a manual car once i'd figured out the driving basics, would recommend!
3) i live in australia where we almost don't have covid anymore and life is very much back to normal. i hope this gives you hope :)

How the heck are you so loving of your future and past self??? I'm too afraid to accept who I've been because there's a lot of pain there, and I'm too worried that future me won't be someone I'm proud of..... It's truly amazing how you can be so free and accepting to say I love you to yourself in such a way.

I just turned 30 a few weeks ago... I moved to LA not long after turning 26. I felt this burst of reflective feelings after watching this vid, so don't mind me.. The last 5 years had the hardest losses and the largest gains in understanding about quality of life. I think you'll have a better time than I did, entering a wounded but healing country. You'll continue to take on that new difficult thing as the newest, most difficult thing... You go on living through it all, and it's just a lovely mess of awful and beautiful. You'll begin to appreciate the hard times more than resent or depress them. You begin to be more grateful and graceful than you've been before. This is a very different world than it was. Age 25-30 has been monumental. 30 doesn't feel real still, but it often feels about right.
Looking back at 20 year old her and Dodie now is a trip. So many times when I’ve been scared, sobbing and afraid of growing up I come back and watch you. You’ve been the soundtrack to so many people’s lives and childhoods, especially mine. I love you, you’re like a big sister I’ve never met. It would be insane to one day meet you :,)

It's crazy that all our cells are replaced on its entirety every 7 years. You'll be almost an entire different person. Im now in my 30s, and 20s year old me feel like another person that Im embarrased he ever existed. Whenever I talk about him I refer to him as a 3rd person. I wonder if that happens to anyone else.

hey there, I just wanted to answer to this bc my younger me would relate to this A LOT. For me I found that I can make up for the time I felt I lost. Just because I am legally grown up, doesn't mean I can't do childish things. That doesn't bring the time back, but those positive feelings aren't just tied to that time. So I just thought I'd let you know that you can still feel free like a kid even though being an adult. You'll never know what your future brings and it may not all be great, but it may not all be awful as well. :)

I am turning 20 this year, but please do not be scared. Embrace right now, even though it isn't ideal. You are growing and becoming an amazing human being. Every day you can choose not to become a "boring" adult and you can create your own life.
i feel this- i’m 18 and have finally moved out of my parents house to live with my aunt in another city. i spent the last five years just wishing and hoping for the time i’m at right now, and i feel like i let life happen without me. you can still be a kid! from the people i’ve met, one dear lovely friend is 55 this year and he is very much a kid. enjoying life the way he always has, the way his parents taught him and the way he has taught his kids. i hope you’ll be able to come back to this at 20 and not feel like you haven’t had a chance to live yet.
take the little things that bring you joy and peace and love them with all your heart until they become the big things. i bought glow stars for my room and i see them every night to remind me that i’m still a kid, but a kid with freedom now :)

I always love these. I'm about five years older than you (I turn 30 in November, what??!!?) and despite being different people it always feels like I'm watching back to myself five years ago. Funny, that. Time does feel a little faster, but it's just as unfathomable how much happened in five years time. People I was close with then I barely speak to now. People from high school I've picked up again as pen pals. Career changes. Moving apartments. I got a second cat! I figured out I'm queer! Still trying to write a book, still not very good at it, but that's alright. I'm less apologetic for the bits of myself and my life that I love, now, which is nice. I swear when lockdown ends I'm actually going to use the museum membership pass my mom bought me years ago.

a few weeks ago i read a diary entry that i wrote when i was 14, it was all about how i didn’t want to grow up and i want to be stuck at 18. Now that i’m 20, i am so excited to grow up. the fact that my fears have changed into appreciating how time moves forward gives me so much hope. when i was 17, life was great. now that i’m 20, life is also great but in a different way. i’m looking forward to when i’m 25, 30, 35, and seeing what other things will make me happy later :)
