Currently been chronically dissociated for three years now. Ironic because I have been a fan of dodie since i was a kid and saw this video years before it happened to me. Without Dodie I would have no idea what I am currently going through and would probably have lost myself to suic*de a long time ago. Its because I had Dodie to educate me on what DD was and how she handled it that saved my life.

It is a symptom and professional guidance should be sought out, or it may adversely affect your whole life as it has mine. BE KIND TO YOUR MIND!

I was reading your book: Secrets for the Mad, and I remember reading the chapter where you talked about your experience with an unhealthy relationship. I was in one myself but the love-bombing and my need to believe that it the person I loved wasn't actually doing such horrible things to me, kept me from facing how bad the relationship actually was. However, when you recounted your experience, especially when you talked about his anger and controlling behaviour, it resonated so hard with me because I was going through the same thing... and I think it was one of the first times I seriously questioned whether something was wrong. It's been a few months, but things got pretry bad and I finally got the courage to leave him for good. Trying to heal from almost 4 years of that now. But I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. It really helped me.
