    Very well spoken guy. Perspective on patience, culture and race is consistent w other expats. Status levels and perceptions often based on media since they have so limited personal exposure. Glad he doesnt take it personal but understands the culture.

    • @r3ggie617
      @r3ggie617 Před 8 měsíci +2

      Definitely not taking it personal at all. Sometimes it just a matter of sharing culture and being open to reciprocating that desire to learn. I have humbled quite a bit living here and I feel like when I go back home, it will change my outlook on western society.
      Leaving home teaches some of the greatest lessons we can learn as an adult.

    I am Mexican American and my husband Filipino American. Though we were both raised in the USA, our homes were very much culture centered. For example, I was not allowed to speak English in my home as respect to my parents homeland. In our 11 years together and now living in the Philippines, we are still learning so much about our cultural differences and being patient is KEY! There is still so much I am learning, now especially that I am in his home country. I also face a form of racism interactions especially because of colorism..my daughter is brown like her father and I can't go a day without comments about why she does not have my color :( I am proud of my daughter because she always answers "Its ok po, I don't mind what people say because I know I am beautiful and I am proud to be both Mexican and Filipino no matter what other people say or think ." My daughter is 8 years old, we are very proud of her!!!

    Yeah I agree with him, 1 of our toxic value of Filipino is we have this big inferiority complex that we have little to lack of pride in ourselves because in our culture, being humble is very very important to our lives.
    We really don't like someone who has a superiority complex, cocky attitude who thinks they own the land. Respect is a big big big thing here especially elders.
    Another thing is Crab mentality that if someone has gotten their success if life, we tend to be envy of it and try to pull that person down.
    Half filipinas are really beautiful and we kind of envy of it because pure Filipino physical trait is very different from them like they have a mixed facial feature from other races that is totally unique.
    in the end, the culture has a pros and cons in all over the world, nothing is perfect.

    I'm Filipino but i don't agree that any foreigner HAS ro support the Filipino family here, especially if they're only dating. no one is in no way in obligation to support someone's family unless he or she does it out of the goodness of the heart. no one should be forced to pay for the family's needs or expenses. that's just called TAKING ADVANTAGE.

    Unfortunately, Pinoy beauty preferences fall more into the mestiza type - half-Filipino, half-caucasian. Though there has been a growing interest towards the "black beauty," Morena type of beauty in society, it is still small, compared to what the majority prefers to as what is pretty and beautiful. (Case in point: the last two Misses Universe the Philippines have had.)

I’ll either say that , or some other time 😂😂but as you know, never promise a Filipino something, they never forget 🤣🤣 - my Filipino neighbor told me that 🤣🤣

    Speaking of traffic, the Philippines does do one thing hugely better than America. They separate traffic control from police law enforcement. So traffic stops don't involve a cop trying to make everyone into a criminal that they can arrest.
    Traffic improves tremendously when parking rules are enforced.
    I would like to see better moving violation enforcement, especially motorbikes, single or with side cars. And crack down more on fixer licenses.
