      To be fair, Johnson was a timebomb by that point. There were flood spores inside his body from the events of CE, they just had difficulty infesting him due to his screwed up nervous system and the sheer age of the infection forms. Though I doubt he would of been a patient zero, if he was going to infect people, he would of already done it in the aftermath of Operation: First Strike, or after the events of Halo: 2, when he returned to earth. It would be interesting to know if those two remaining rescued Precursors (and their seeds) would be aware of the actions of their modern-day Flood/Gravemind/Primordial's consciousness. Will the seeds, once spawned in their new galaxy, reconnect to the Milky Way's Flood consciousness but remain independent in their actions/philosophies (i.e. bringing joy though complex life-building vs revenge on all life with misery in unity), or will they mentally merge/assimilate and just become new Flood in their new galaxy? Would they even have a choice? And what would they do with that choice? Perpetuate the Flood or come back and rescue their creations in the Milky Way?

    • @42skynet31
      @42skynet31 Před 2 lety +11

      The flood we know from the Milkyway were created from what were essentially corrupted Precursor corpses. That were guided by the Primordials desire to enact revenge against the Forerunners and all that they hold dear because of the slaughter against the Precursors.
      However the Librarian did said that the two survivors of Path Kethona held no anger for the forerunners that wanted to save them and just wanted to die in peace. Also the flowers that were emerging from their corpses were clean (of genetic memory) and of any corruption (unlike the Precursor dust in the milkyway). Therefore the Precursors that would emerge from the Flowers that are transported with the Eden would not undergo the same development as the flood. They will probably just emerge as the same Precursors before their extinction. At least that is what i took away from Point of Light.

    I went through a Chakas/Spark deep dive (as much as is possible on Halopedia) sometime last year. Somehow I entirely missed the whole Bastion thing haha. (Mini edit: I just checked and Halopedia STILL isn't up to date with the Point of Light information neither on Spark's page nor on Ace of Spades page. Shame.) I really like his story a lot, and even though I think most people would be turned off by its twists and turns, having it all laid out in one place is fun.
    I'll continue to say that I think it'd be awesome to have a game that followed the Ace of Spades. But rather than being totally linear, make it a space sim where the salvagers have to work, con, and fight their way across the galaxy to make ends meet. Of course, that all depends on what time period you'd use. It could just be a standard endless space sim if it's before their meeting with Chakas, with few story implications. Sort of Freelancer or even early Elite vibes. Or they could certainly just have a fairly linear game following the events of their time with Chakas.
    Personally, I feel this period with Chakas would serve well as an extended tutorial that leaves you with a FORERUNNER UPGRADED SHIP?! Hello?? And at that point, you'd pick up with the crew as they flit around looking for clues about the Spirit of Fire, doing odd jobs with their crazy ship and dodging ONI attention as best as they can. Intersperse free roaming though cities and colonies with story bits told at Forerunner installations, and perhaps culminating at the Ark or somewhere afterward, depending on what happens in Infinite. Gameplay could even be MechWarrior-esque as you have to carefully manage your resources over time to ensure that you can get to the next story point and back safely.
    Anyway. It'll never happen. But I want it haha.

  • @Joni_Tarvainen
    @Joni_Tarvainen Před 3 měsíci +1

    This raises questions regarding on Flood itself for me, like for example since we know that Gravemind is able to gain the knowledge of the previous Gaveminds, which essentially means there's only been only Gravemind. This would mean that once Flood becomes evolved enough to form one, they should have all the knowledge from the previous Gravminds, whom had assimilated Forerunners and are the precurcors. So the question becomes "How come Flood doesn't start to manufacture Forerunner weapons, Star-roads and all that overpowered Precursor & Forerunner stuff in order to win the eternal war?
