- Watch this video and discover how South Korea is bringing home cultural assets stored in foreign museums with an innovative project to digitize them for use in real-time 3D environments.
In South Korea, around 230,000 cultural assets were either legally or controversially exported, but various efforts to repatriate them back to the country are underway.
Among these efforts is the idea of digital sharing, a South Korean government-led initiative that leverages digital technology and equipment to replace the complicated and difficult physical repatriation process.
With digital sharing, Korean artwork stored in museums abroad can be exhibited in its home country as a precise digital replica of the original artifact. Interactive 3D content is developed based on the digital replica, providing a realistic and engaging experience for viewers.
In this video, we explore the Digital Homecoming Project for the Korean Cultural Assets at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA).

This is absolutely amazing to see!
Now this is a project I would love to participate on.
Fantastic work. I always wonder what the budget is such impressive projects
Good cultural heritage digitize project
Where's the AI assistant/agent in Unreal Editor? Show us you're joining the 21st century by putting this on the public roadmap. Unity will pass you if you're not working on this.
Nobody cares, it's just a gimmick. Use any of the major LLMs like GPT-4 or Claude Opus, they have an in-depth knowledge of UE.
@@PhilShary I guess you've been living under a rock for the past month
Why should UE share internal strategic data with the public just because you put pressure arguments in a YT comment section?
I'm sure dev team is working on a solution and everything will be publicly aviable when (strategic) time fits. Staying patient and interested should be a good advice 😉

@@rjk1404 because they have a public roadmap. That's extremely useful for potential users in preproduction who are planning their project.
