Yeah, everything from the events to the clothing and specific rules is all different. Sure, they have a similar basis, but as a female gymnast, I'd probably be better at parcour than male gymnastics.
*graceful I love the differences between these words, so I hope you won't be offended if I define them? Actually an example of "gracious" would be if you weren't offended, and said "thank you for your help." When we have every right to be angry or offended by a situation, but instead, we choose to react with kindness; that's being a Gracious person. "Graceful" is how you would describe these amazing gymnasts, a ballet dancer, or even a model. Yes, I love how clear the difference in style and approach of the two disciplines becomes when they try each others. The ladies are taught to be graceful, fluid, and almost effortless looking. The blokes are taught to be powerhouses and use brute strength and force to execute a move.
The men have zero thoracic flexibility and have heavily muscled upper bodies. The women have very flexible backs and are not very muscled in the upper body

Major difference just biologically speaking.. even if they trained its going to be harder and less elegant for men to do the same routines due to their center of gravity they'd also sacrifice muscle growth for that flexibility which is something that they can't really lose as most of their routines are specifically upper body based so there's a trade off just from the muscle mass limits how flexible they can be plus their center of gravity being higher.
Big thing to consider is that men are normally less flexible than women and have a higher center of mass than women do. It’s really cool to see the differences in “specialty” between women and men displayed in gymnastics
@@ryans2024The first step is to acknowledge your issue. Although I don’t think that trait in particular is that bad so long as they don’t insult other people in any way.
You can really tell that center of mass difference between the men and women Men are really top heavy, so you really have to flick your legs hard to go around. Imagine a wheel, but the axle is way off-center. It's great for high jumps, pole vaulting etc, not great for flips and cart wheels In comparison, women look like they're in slow motion. The center of gravity is around the butt and much closer to the center of their height. To return to the wheel analogy, it's like the axle is properly centered, so they just glide around it smoothly.
Biologically women are most flexible than men cause of estrogen while testosterone increases everything from size and mass of the muscle to the male skeletal.
It’s so funny to me how women’s and men’s are both called “gymnastics” while they’re totally different from eachother. It’s like calling javelin throw and shot put “the same thing” because you throw something in both. While men and women trained totally differently because some people decided women shouldn’t get buff upper bodies and men shouldn’t look highly elegant.
Most people do not understand the mechanical differences in the male and female bodies. The difference in hip motion and movement alone causes most of these differences.
Also, most people don't understand the difference between trained and untrained. Those men were able to improve quickly at those routines because everyone in the video is a gymnast. If you take any random woman off the street, they would perform at they guy's level or worse. That is because a trained person is very different from an untrained person. If those men and women were given the same routines to practice their entire gymnast careers, they would perform at the same level.
@EctoPhantasmagoria yes but there'd still be some level of difference in the balance and/or how it's achieved/performed. It varies. But training can get you to that point. However some of these maneuvers even if trained, are harder to achieve
How would you know? That first girl is taller than him thats why it was a bit easier (and her training of course) but shes taller than him. The first girl and second girl arent the same people. Id say the guys probably between 5’5 and 5’7 which is average female height. The girls probably more around 5’10-5’11. Not all guys are taller than all girls lol
@@Jennie-ln9yx what? No thats not true at all. Thats based off a genetics. Thats not even an average. On average people are proportional. That had nothing to do with gender.
@@Jennie-ln9yx also the guy is not taller. I’ve explained it 10 times now. Watch where his arms end and where his torso ends. Then watch the females. She has longer arms and a longer torso. Your arm length says a loottt about your height. The longer the arms, the taller the person in most cases.
Hahah sometimes I feel like women are built slinkily like a cat and guys are built more rigid like dogs. Like when you try to pick up a cat and it’s all floppy is how fluidly these girls were moving. I’m sure there’s loads of exceptions but that’s just what this video made me think of
Not going to lie, if you see my dumb ass trying this, go ahead and get the c-collar ready and get the ambulance on its way. What these ladies do is nothing short of amazing and they make it look so easy as they casually just flip with out their hands touching the ground.
fun fact! women are better at balancing because women's core (which balances you) is more centered in the body and men's core is more higher up in the chest!
A good example of the difference in men and women's physiology. Men are generally stronger and more athletic, but lack the level of dexterity and flexibility that women possess.
@@helvete_ingres4717 Dexterity describes physical agility and gracefulness. It is often used in the context of hand movements, but it can be applied to any context that requires quick and flexible body movements. Thus, OP's use of the word "dexterity" is correct. The misunderstanding is pretty funny, though.
@@SouperWy That was never in question, my comment dealt with the accuracy of the op comment. At no point is anyone's center of balance on their shoulders... at least no one with legs.
It's not a matter of whether or not men can do what women can do. It would be the same if women were asked to do for the first time the movements that men have been trained to do.

'making it look easy' is a result of..training something for a long time. Consider that you would have the same impression if you watched women try men's gymnastics - but much more strongly, I think. If male gymnasts (idk what level) making pretty decent attempts at difficult moves from 'women's gymnastics' looks to you like 'fighting for their lives' I have to wonder what you'd make of a video like this one you can see on youtube, 'girls try men's gymnastics ft. shawn johnson' from the channel tc2. In it, you see a female OLYMPIC gymnast looking ridiculous trying to skin the cat on still rings with bent knees (a very basic move, I can do it for reps with straight legs, much harder). See my experience of watching that video is different to yours watching this: I assume these 'accurate' and 'fluid' moves you cannot do yurself. I see the girls in this video incl. an OLYMPIC gymnast unable to do things that I, a guy who could barely do push-ups a year ago and hadn't touched rings a few months ago, can do for REPS (no diss to the girls on the channel, they have tons of videos of stuff I can't do - I was just shocked to see how weak a female elite gymnast was)
@@helvete_ingres4717 kinda like skating; men can do a lot more tricks but it still looks like they’re struggling with the routine while women look like they’re born with this talent. I admire the grace of said routines vs the difficulty of them but it is men who do set the standard in these sports.
@@joad8537 you think male professional figure skaters look like they're 'struggling' (idk how to argue against 'it looks like this to me', it's subjective) yet you acknowledge the things they do are more difficult (calling them 'tricks') - I don't think a female figure skater will ever do a quadruple axel, male skaters have done that. Could say the same of basically anything you see a male gymnast do in competition, on rings on floor, whatever. You 'think gymnastics and skating are better represented by women' even though you acknowledge men are basically..better at them? It really shouldn't look like men are 'struggling' in sports b/c the male body really is much better optimised for movement (at least the 'gross' kind, as in gross motor skills ie. pretty much everything in sports) - narrow pelvis means legs pump like pistons not this awkward waddling motion of the female hip/thigh joint - , run faster, jump higher, all that good stuff. Speaking of 'struggling', did you look at the video i mentioned? I want you to look at that female OLYMPIC gymnast (idk what her event was) on the gymnastics rings and tell me where is the 'accuracy', 'fluidity' or 'pure beauty'. You just buy into this romanticising of women and put it onto sports
I think it’s completely fine that men and women gymnastics are different. They’ve got different levels of flexibility, balance, and core strength, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We don’t need to force them to be the same. Coexistence isn’t trying to copy the other person, it’s accepting and adapting to our differences.
I think it would be great if anyone was allowed to do any sport in any style, and let people pick what they're interested in. There is no reason to "force" people to all do the same sports, yes, but that's not happening. In reality, the "force" is applied to the SEPERATION of the genders. That's not good either, and its actually happening. Have you thought of the trio of concepts "Have to, May, and Can't"? Forcing someone to do something and forcing someone NOT to do something are both bad. ALLOWING someone the CHOICE is good.

The reason why these categories are different is because men’s gymnastics is to show power and strength with the ring hold and table spins. Women’s gymnastics is to show case flexibility and dancer like movements
Strength too from women
The big reason is that women and men balance very differently in certain situations. That’s why they have different routines.

I love the differences between these words, so I hope you won't be offended if I define them?
Actually an example of "gracious" would be if you weren't offended, and said "thank you for your help." When we have every right to be angry or offended by a situation, but instead, we choose to react with kindness; that's being a Gracious person.
"Graceful" is how you would describe these amazing gymnasts, a ballet dancer, or even a model.
"Her grace, poise, and elegance inspired everyone she knew, so that all of her friends became more graceful just by spending time with her."
I hope you don't mind. And yes, you're right! These gymnasts are incredible 💪
@@bodyofhope k
Yes, I love how clear the difference in style and approach of the two disciplines becomes when they try each others. The ladies are taught to be graceful, fluid, and almost effortless looking. The blokes are taught to be powerhouses and use brute strength and force to execute a move.
"Someone spot him" got me 😭😂😂
The men have zero thoracic flexibility and have heavily muscled upper bodies. The women have very flexible backs and are not very muscled in the upper body
Really liking this series of trying the other gender gymnastics techniques and how clearly it shows the different applications of power and control between the two.
Praying the algorithm will bring me back for them trying men’s gymnastics
doubt they will, they have had like a dozen shorts since this and no reversed roles.
I was thinking the same thing.
Keep coming back for this!

unfortunately, the algorithm is HIDING CONTENT like this.because they are afraid we might "figure out" that men and women ARE different and a man can NOT be a woman or a woman can not be a man
Wow... It's almost like men and women are built completely differently or something
This is not fair, the men need to wear the same clothing as them
Not for flexibility
AYO?!!?
Honestly I agreed
🤨📸
This is nice because a lot of people assume there is no “power” used in women’s gymnastics and it’s just for cute aesthetics. Takes a lot of strength and coordination, their events are just so different.
Well these men have all that power, so this didn’t really make a point about power. More about balance and flexibility differences.
No it took coordination and flexibility, that’s not strength at all, these male gymnastics can throw themselves 6 feet into the air via swinging on a bar

I swear in every challenge that last guy always finds a way to be folding up like a piece of paper😭
Turns out… the people who practice those moves since they’re kids can do them better than those who only just did them for the first time.
Yeah, I thought the same.
There’s this thing called balls. And men really like to keep them intact

Although I don’t think that trait in particular is that bad so long as they don’t insult other people in any way.
Simple. Anatomy. Women are more flexible in MOST cases. Not ALL. But MOST.
You can really tell that center of mass difference between the men and women
Men are really top heavy, so you really have to flick your legs hard to go around.
Imagine a wheel, but the axle is way off-center.
It's great for high jumps, pole vaulting etc, not great for flips and cart wheels
In comparison, women look like they're in slow motion. The center of gravity is around the butt and much closer to the center of their height.
To return to the wheel analogy, it's like the axle is properly centered, so they just glide around it smoothly.
The difference between men and women is so pronounced in gymnastics. Women look angelically artistic while men look unhumanly strong.
That first mount was frickin gorgeous 👌👌
Women are the statue of gripperty
what kills me with these is the guys doing it in loose shorts and tshirts and the girls wearing 1 pieces

Very interesting to see how gravital focus in female figures are very hip centered, the men seem to struggle with that.
Well. To be fair. They train completely differently so the moves are new to them. Also, testicles
Its crazy to see the difference in where men and women's center of gravity is
He folded so elegantly tho 😭

Biologically women are most flexible than men cause of estrogen while testosterone increases everything from size and mass of the muscle to the male skeletal.
It’s so funny to me how women’s and men’s are both called “gymnastics” while they’re totally different from eachother. It’s like calling javelin throw and shot put “the same thing” because you throw something in both. While men and women trained totally differently because some people decided women shouldn’t get buff upper bodies and men shouldn’t look highly elegant.
They play into the natural forms.. also just their center of gravity is vastly different which alone changes many different routines..

Hahaha
I never will understand, why women have to wear underwear while men can wear normal Shorts or leggins... Not only in gymnastics...
"Im too short for this :("
Also, definitely taller than the female gymnasts
How would you know? That first girl is taller than him thats why it was a bit easier (and her training of course) but shes taller than him. The first girl and second girl arent the same people. @@99Em07 the guy is taller, men just have a longer torso than women and women have longer legs.
I would love to try both because my center of gravity is as androgynous as the rest of me lol
I was surprised to learn how thin the beam is. Can't remember numbers now but it's smaller than it looks.

fun fact! women are better at balancing because women's core (which balances you) is more centered in the body and men's core is more higher up in the chest!
A good example of the difference in men and women's physiology. Men are generally stronger and more athletic, but lack the level of dexterity and flexibility that women possess.

It's not a matter of whether or not men can do what women can do. They (the women) are showing movements that they spent months or years training, they (the men) are doing these movements for the first time. The accuracy and fluidity of women in gymnastics is pure beauty. They make it look easy while the men look like they’re fighting for their lives.
Of course they will not do better in hoisting their partners while skating but over all I think gymnastics and skating are better represented by women.
And their future childrens' safety ngl

That girl in pink/purple …phew 😳
