I hope you all enjoy, this was so fun to make! Comment who you think won this challenge 💪🏼
This is a funny story but when i was younger i did the same thing! I slept in a middle split and i was down in the morning 😂

Feels like gymnastics is all about pain
Pretty much sums it up
Yeah😭 it basically is I can confirm as a gymnast
No its fun 😂😂😂
It’s fun but yeah agree ive been a gymnast for 8 years i know it all
Your exactly right 😭
I love the sounds of disgust each time the other person manages to get further, especially the shoulder one lol
I think you tied. Sophia won flexibility, Ian won strength, and you all tied on the twists so that's a tie overall. Great job and fun video!
The results make sense because women's gymnastics focuses more on leg and back flexibility (beam leaps/choreography), whereas men's gymnastics focuses much more on strength and shoulder flexibility (rings/parallel bars). So I always expect a female gymnast to have more leg and back flexibility, and the male gymnast to have more upper body strength and shoulder flexibility. The acrobatic elements can go either way. Traditional thinking suggests that men have an advantage here because the sport requires more difficult elements to train on vault and floor. However, Simone Biles has been systematically destroying this theory for years. People like Jake Jarman and Kenzo Shirai are anomalies. So I agree that this is likely to end in a tie and I'm glad it did. Very entertaining.
Nah, I ain’t reading all that😂😂
@@portiataylor9719then don't 😑
20yrs dance teacher here. The wall split is massively less pressure on joints that only bend one way (your knees.)
makes sense because gravity is pulling parallel to your legs instead of perpendicular on the floor
me with my 2 years of gymnastics i did 6 years ago thinking im the shit tho
"I'm smiling, but yes it hurts"
Their chemistry was so good!!
The way he was holding her on the Parrell bars 🫣
That was so much fun to watch! It’s amazing to see some of the skills that are used in gymnastics. You really challenge yourselves and push your physical limits in very entertaining ways. 😅
"I got the dog in me" 😂
🎵"Why must I feel like that?
Why must I chase the cat?
Nothin but the dog in me"🎶
😆
You are all the best gym dorks. Love it. 😊
😂😂 love this
Definitely brings a whole new meaning to "no pain, no gain!" Kudos to the three of you!
I've seen Sophia's channel before, and she's really talented! I'd love to see her back on your channel in the future.
Me too!
I love this competition, really highlights the difference between male and female gymnastics disciplines. Also - really really good sporting when she was trying the parallel bar tricks! Super responsive and reassuring spots that didn’t take away from her strength display! I’m honestly impressed with the both of your efforts at the other side of the sport, well done!
2:51 THAT FLIP THO 😮
Good sportsmanship is the winner here. Both were cheering each other on. And these two have really good chemistry.
Impossible to declare a winner in that competition.... both very talented flexible and strong as well as being beautiful and gracious!
At the end around the 15:00 mark, does anyone else notice the girl in the back bouncing on a snowboard?
The toes on point made me subscribe. That’s a swimmer stretch as well, and it's so brutal.
Amazing Ian! You are so talented and you are an absolute beast! Love these long form videos and challenges!
Thanks a ton!
Enjoyed the video!! You both are so talented!! ❤️
Love this! Fun to watch and lots of funny moments
this is the first real collab and it was awesome i loved this video.
You left him shocked and speechless at the end 😂
i watch your shorts all the time, and you and all your friends have such amazing and shining personalities. this is the first long video i’ve watched of yours and i was genuinely so surprised how much more your personality shines (even though that probably sounds really stupid)
Love these long vedioes Ian.. keep making more 😊
As long as you’re having fun you’re both winners.
Idk which part hurt the most to watch 😳😂 also I vote for a REMATCH TWISTING CHALLENGE we need to settle this once and for all😎
I think we all know who won… 😤
@@ianguntherI know. I feel kinda bad for you
Don't worry, I'll be fine carrying the weight of victory on my shoulders. I’ll try not to let it get to my head
You need to get @MovementbyDavid into the gym with you he would crush most of these challenges!
Congratulations on passing over 1 million subscribers!
I think Ian won. You two have a nice friendship.
I love her laugh!
Just watching Ian pop his shoulders out of socket makes my arms hurt just watching there is no way I would ever even try that and walking on your feet bent like that hurts thinking about it too great job Sophialand on that one for real.
that's just skinning the cat, its not very hard
I find it weird how women's and men's gymnastics aren't just women and men doing gymnastics, they're basically different sports. And women's gymnastics conceptually interests me far more, and though I don't do gymnastics anyway I wonder how annoying it would be if I wanted to the _women's_ kind of gymnastics but was made to do the _men's_ kind, or the other way around.
Off topic but applause for the editing, had me cracking up 😅🤣😂
Love this channel sm
What’s stunning is how much of gymnastics relies on the constant adaptability and growth of the athlete… I mean, granted, I’m not super athletic, so maybe I’m just underestimating other sports, but it seems like for the most part, other sports go along the lines of: get strong, learn to do your job, stay strong, get as good as you can at a job that stays roughly the same throughout your career. Whereas gymnastics, it’s like “okay… I’m strong, and I’m good at this set of skills… now let’s spend my entire career constantly learning more and more things to do the job… and only really stop (or just slow down) if/when my body can’t take it any more” 😂 👏 the endurance through it all, and the crazy stuff you guys can continuously learn to do with your bodies is mind blowing to me. Great video! ❤
This really shows how sweat a guy you are Ian ! So humble
I DID NOT KNOW UNTIL TODAY IAN MADE FULL LENGTH VIDEOS OR ID BE A FREQUENT VIEWER SO I WILL BE WATCHING NOW
Yea, same!! Time to binge
Ian big brothered the support on rings. I'm sure he can hold that pike support for 30+ seconds
Forgot to mention about the ring position difference between them as well. Ian ftw!
I am on a color guard team (kinda a mix of dance and gymnastics and equipment stuff) and we do the exact same thing of going through a video frame by frame to count rotations lol
Sleeping in a middle split?! That’s insane!!
GUNTHY! Go all out for the 2024 Olympics you can do it and you want to. Just get in the gym upgrade your routines focus you can do it
Ok i actually started following Sophia from her videos with an Italian youtuber i follow. This is amazing 🤣🤣
You should Anna mcnulty to a flexibility challenge her wall splits are to the ground
Is no one gunna talk about how cute that are together❤❤
Have you ever noticed that most gymnasts that have their splits often had their splits or were close the very first time they tried? Thats my experience when I coached gymnastics.
I don't have mine yet and I can only do it sometimes
I used to do gymnastics for 4 years but then i stopped cuz my body was just hurting
U should do a tutorial how to do shoulder thing
Pretty sure you are both winners!
6:59 try doing this but your whole foot is flat in the ground I believe that's more harder than doing this and doing a tip toe
I like how he’s cheering her on at the end.
ya'll impress the hell outta me.
Ohmigawsh @sophialandgymnastics - I only just realized you are S Campana of the Italian National team!!! Prima d'ora ti ho sentito parlare solo in Italiano!! I forgot you were American lol 🤯🤩🥰 (LOVED seeing the Sophia Campana Cup btw, very impressed!) 💖
he is so funny 😂 and he is pretty talented in bars❤
As a gymnast who trains 6 hours a week I can approve that gymnastics is one hell of a sport!
Back when I was in middle school and full of misplaced confidence, I thought I could do a front flip off a springboard, since I could do a rollie pollie on the floor and figured it was exactly the same.
I ran up and did the forward flip. Or I tried to because my knees clocked me in the head and knocked my glasses off, and then I near landed on my head (albeit on the mat) and nearly gave myself a concussion
Let's just say the PE teacher had an eye on me for the rest of the year and banned me from forward flipping unless on the floor
😂 I have spent years trying to gain flexibility. I've gotten better but still can't get the oversight.
In shoulder stretch my arms goes flat elbow to wrist lol
I actually used to sleep in a spilt 😭
U haven't checked anna mcnultys wall splits then. Plz do a collab with her
Ian wins cause he was twisting forwards, imo. Also he tried everything with full commitment.
During planche she reminded me of Khoi young for the “like a man” then the buff one for Asher. No offense to them but that was funny.
Stone-cold tie in my opinion.
It’s great to see a girl vs boy challenge that’s not just a girl dominating with flexibility *cough Jack Payne cough*
Jack Payne is kinda annoying
@@Cloudyy______________77777fr
the strenght chellenges were mainly skills only used in male gymnastics xD For what event do female gymnasts need an iron cross or planches (or just their triceps in general) xD
Visually Sophia twisted faster with less height. But not sure.
This video is so fun and wholesome, I love the respect they each have for the other person and sport ✨
Ian definitely won!
i think you guys tied mabe you can do a remach!?
my tendons.... my ligaments.... my muscles it hurts so bad
No gymnast is an island, all are equal in competition.
i know basically nothing about gymnastics - in the twist challenge, why does ian start further from the foam and move forward vs. sophia starting right next to the foam? is it because they are different weights and the trampoline is different tensions at different spots or something?
I would walk on my toes like that all the time now I can run on them and jump
Does anyone know what the shoulder flexibility exercise is called?
Gymnasts and ballet dancers terrify me.
Its a tie, we need round 2.
Bro is identical to AJ Rossman
soooooo flexxxableeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ayo Carlos reference
Where was this
Thats a tie. When is round 2?
Hmmm. Men’s gymnastics utilizes a lot of strength and women’s uses lots of flexibility. I gotta say that sleeping in middle split paid off for Ian and gave him the win!!
3:47 her face 😭😭😭😭😭
Gymnasts (n.)
-an athlete with the uncanny capability of defying gravity.
And biomechanics.
this just looks painful... keep it up
How come you guys have the same socks?
Cause twinzies
You had to have seen this on the girls side growing up. They always did this lol. Cheer side too
Ian wins ALL!!!
Bro the toe thing was so hard to watch as a ballerina we do that daily and we even have pointe shoes made for that-
Put in and two tubs of handball resin on each of your hands, and then do tricks day one of asking
4:42
Lan Gunther
its cause hes double jointed
Do adorable 😊
💀 9:19
Ian wins
So cool
I kinda ship
"Gymnastics is all about strength & flexibility". Me? I have none. The quote was made my husband who was a gymnast 50 years ago. He still works out everyday & has a 29" waist. I have enjoyed watching Ian in a couple of videos. So much fun you are having. You both are winners!
