    It seems the gradient banding is only a problem if you don't use the gradient tool. Using it gives you the powerful Dither option that destroys the banding almost completely. Soooo satisfying. Great tutorial thank you :)

    How do you put the gradient rectangle over a image?

    • @solopress
      @solopress  Před 4 lety +2

      If you want the rectangle over the image you would have to turn the visibility on for the layer containing the rectangle. You could then change the transparency style and opacity settings to determine how the gradient interacts with the image. You could also adjust the opacity in the gradient settings. If you wanted the gradient to be behind the image, move the gradient layer below the image layer. Hope that helps!

    • @solopress

      In the gradient window, there is a symbol that looks like a clock with one hand and a text field next to it that is probably showing '90' . That shows the angle of the gradient. If you change the value to 0 or 180 it will change the gradient to horizontal. Hope that helps

    • @solopress
      @solopress  Před 3 lety

      Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. When you say it adds, do you mean it adds the previous gradient style when you create a new shape? Photoshop will automatically remember the fill and stroke styles from the previously selected shape. You can select the basic gradient from the fill options before you draw your shape and that will fix it. I hope that helps.

    • @DreamimagesNet
      @DreamimagesNet Před 3 lety

      @@solopress It adds to the same shape. It behaves like a painting on the wall, when you apply the paint layer after layer. I found out why. If I select a gradient with transparency it acts like painting, the more I apply darker it gets. if no transparency when it applies as a new gradient.
