I met a Gambian guy here in Jamaica. He was very humble and respectful and He told me how their Old Folks are honoured in Gambian, unlike in Jamaica.
I was in the Gambia some years ago. I liked it very much. Very nice people, lot of reggae music and you can hear the adhan (islamic call to prayer) five times a day all over town.
Im s Jamaican American married to s Gambian i fell in love with the country and its people i can’t wait to go back
My Country Gambia 🇬🇲 Is Likkle Jamaica 🇯🇲 We Love Our Jamaican Brothers And Sisters 🙏🏿🖤 Karla Is Definitely Enjoying...Murphy You Are Welcome To Gambia, It's Your Home Brother... 🙏🏿🖤

🇯🇲 Gambia, "Little Jamaica", the smallest country in Africa is appro 3 % bigger than Jamaica.
Gambians, nothing but utter love & respect for yard people.
Much love to all for their peaceful election & transfer of power.....Jamaica love.
Thank you for having me on your show Xavier. I enjoyed our interview.
🇯🇲 Nice interview Kay: very eloquent with anecdotes & generalized issues.
However, doesn't react well to constructive analysis on her Utube channel.
Can be rather unforgiving when her mistakes are pin-pointed & repulsed by any & every opposing views.
Wish her well on her journey to maturity.
You did great Karla one love
@@FREETHINKER_99 thanks Bob Bless up!!

When I first went Gambia if you close your eyes and land in certain areas in the Gambia you will think you are in Jamaica. Music, dreadlocks even people speaking patois. She is 💯 in her descriptions

Sounds like “little JA” , glad Klara enjoys living in Gambia loving the availability of JA food in the many restaurants. Respect to Gambians for embracing Jamaicans.

Koala nut is Bizzy in Jamaica. We use it for tea and to treat poison in Jamaica. Bizzy tea with condensed milk and a little nutmeg is really good. I am old school Jamaican. 🇯🇲🇨🇦💞
I never knew that about bissy
Carla is now a Gambian i follow her programs always. We are surrounded on three sides by Senegal except the Atlantic ocean. The country is divided on both banks by the River Gambia. Mangoes are grafted with other varieties. The most popular one is called"Jurr" very sweet and juicy. Colanuts are found only in West Africa, every ceremony is composed of it. In Mandinka is like " Fo Soma" Wollof is " Be aleck" Fula" Ha jango" that's the equivalent of bye.
Nice one Yankuba, thank you.
Gambia is fabulous. I hope to visit again for the third time. Wonderful people.

You should go to The Gambia...
Very nice people.
I am a black South African and enjoy this program. As an African, I urge our people to accept our distant cousins and help them to resettle back in the mother land as long as a person is comfortable in an African country.
We shall had helped them in our reunification. We in S.A. follow suit.
My grandmother usually give us bizzy tea in the morning
My mom gave me grated bissy in cream soda flavored pop for food poisoning or food allergies back in the day. Another interesting interview 😘🇯🇲🇺🇲💜
Bizzy protects from poison. A gift of bizzy shows you mean the person no evil. In fact it shows you mean them well.
there are also many Gambians living in Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean
Greetings from Finland, feel at home sister. I wish you wonderful stay in the smiling coast of Africa ❤

Another interesting interview Xavier. Karla seems to be interacting very well with the people considering that she has only only moved there in 2020. Didn't realise that the Gambians were such a lovely bunch. Gambia is now on my bucket list.

Cola nut is yes as a sigh of respect. It is presented to respectable people as a sign of appreciation or honor. For instance if you’re seeking a hand of marriage to a girl, you present it to your in-laws, it can also be presented to Alkalo (village heads) when they offer you a land, maybe at cheaper prices. In the past many people got lands from village/town by just presenting cola nuts to the Alkalo as token of appreciation. Cola nut contains caffeine so Many elders eat it daily. My mum for instance. It’ taste bitter tho.
The Gambia.. The smile of Africa :)
What a lovely smile she has..pleasant personality just like our dear host..me lobe me ppl.enuh...Jamaica!

Hi Karla, great interview. I had a eureka moment when you said the Kola/Cola nut is called Bissy in Jamaica. For many years, a friend has been trying to get me to drink Bissy tea, but I've always refused. I've apologized to her because Bissy tea will now be a part of my routine. Thanks. 👍😃
ginger beer is alsk from Gambia and words like nyam
Busy is used for food poisoning in Jamaica, we use to drink the tea sometimes, it was very good
This is enjoyable 😊
Very interesting convo
Many African countties uses kola nut, i first saw it in the nigerian shows. I drink it alot here in Jamaica its boiled with coconut juice, cinnamon leaves or pimento leaves and nutmeg. It can also be drink without milk 🇯🇲🇯🇲

Good interview, would love to visit. "Bissy" is good for bad stomach, or if you think you may have eaten something that will upset the stomach. My Mom used to make the tea sometimes, and unlike Cerassie, it does not taste unpleasant.
Positive energy good conversation and well said.

Patois is an evolution of Gambian Pidgin language. In other words, the languages are very close
yes and krio from Sierra Leone
WHY Gambia people are increasing the house rent nah
The Gambia is definitely Jamaica 2point O
Karla how can I get in touch privately
We look familiar and behave the dance because it ancestors live in us. Diseases are not all we carry from them.
One family we say gamjamaica
Jamaicans would do well right in Jamaica bringing the country forward.
they call it bissy in Ghana just like Jamaica
Most of the Black American and Jamaican or South America DNA have more Ghana,Nigeria, Congo, Benin and Cameroon. Very low percentage of them have Gambia, senegal and Mali because most of the population are inland
We don’t care
Karla sure is beautiful 😍
True talk
Mangfirek
Sometimes people say things without knowing the facts .....actually the gambia has a smaller population than jamaica
they call it jamaica number 2, and they love talking patois
The interviewer sucks in his questions. Phrase your questions before asking them 4 different ways. Ugh
Thank you for the feedback. We will try to do better. We are learning as we go and appreciate you taking the time to provide your thoughts. Blessings.
@Jamaicans You are too nice. He could phrase his comment much nicer. He comes across as rude...to me.
🎉 P*R*O*M*O*S*M!!!
We love Jamaicans ❤
