She doesn't know about connections with other Black professionals where sje is at or anywhere else because it doesn't seem sue makes the effort to immerse herself in the local culture or at least get to know the locals in a meaningful way.

I can never understand a person knowingly moving into a state or a city that is of a different culture and not making the effort to experience what that state or culture has to offer. If you want everything Jamaican, move back to Jamaica. Otherwise, learn to appreciate and experience other cultures. Because, to be honest, the old Atlanta is dead because of the transplants from other cities and countries and that's not a good thing. Atlanta had a unique culture and it was awesome and attractive. I can appreciate diversity to a certain degree but not to the point where the original native culture is overshadowed. When I moved to Georgia from the Midwest, I moved to experience Southern culture, the lifestyle, the food, the Southern hospitality, etc...it's nice to keep your culture but you can experience others as well.

Came to the Bronx from Portland, Jamaica at 8 yrs old in 1972. Its because of us earlier Jamaicans and even more so the drug trade wars of the mid- late 80s is why Kerri was protected in the 90s If she came in the 70s she would've had to actually fight or flight. Us earlier Jamaicans had to battle daily until we proved ourselves. And we never told our parents ANYTHING.

Please do not use the word "TRIBE" this word is used to Degrade the people of africa, the various people were "NATIONS" so the people are ethnic groups, and Africans are of various ethnic groups.
