  • Multi-award-winning photographers Aries Tao makes incredible images with Godox V1. 8 hours shooting from day to night, 7 challenging locations in Melbourne, 7 breathtaking images, the photographer demonstrates the exceptional performance of Godox V1 in the fast pace shooting environment. At the busiest street in Melburne, Aries Tao uses the handy Godox V1 to mimic the ambient light to light the model's face to get a natural look and mimic the light of sunset near the bridge on a cloudy day. Using modeling light and high-speed sync of Godox V1, the photographer creates the stunning work of a high-speed continuous shooting in the night scene.

I have a Sony A7ii. The V1 for Sony does NOT work with any Sony A series cameras. The high speed sync will not work and will show a black bar across your image anything over 1/200th with HSS on, and it will keep saying on my camera “this is not supported by the devise and cannot use”. I talked to B&H today and they said it doesn’t work for any of their cameras either. And they said they’re going to reach out to Godox too. So there’s a big problem with this flash AND the xpro trigger to go with it. Wish it worked. I’m also on the newest and updated firmware. Any advise?

I like the V1. But it is NOT a soft light in any way shape or form. It's a small point source which means it's hard. Now, it is a very even light. No hotspots like other speedlights. The 860ii has hot spots. So does the profoto a1. So it is a better flash. The diffusers work well in the V1. But it is not by any means a soft light.
