This wall was such an accomplishment for me, and I’m so proud of the way it turned out. So many of the steps were new to me and I had to figure them out as I went. This video will save you some trial-and-error time and hopefully provide some tips to make your herringbone accent wall easy to install. I misspoke about the height of our ceilings, I said 12’ but they are 10’ high. Sometimes it felt much higher!

Did you measure out what you needed then go to home depot or something to have them cut the boards for you?
I did measure, and then calculated how many 12' boards I'd need. I cut them with my mitre saw. The long boards did stick out the back of my SUV though.
It turned out great, what size boards did you use?
3.25" wide exactly by .75" thick. Hope that helps!

You don’t need liquid nails, butterfly your install of the mdf instead.
I've seen that technique but as a beginner DIYer I wasn't confident to try it. Thanks for the tip though!
Not to be a Debbie downer, but this is a chevron pattern, not a herringbone. However, it still came out great!
That's true! But the term is interchangeable when people search on this pattern so I wanted to make sure my post gets found :)
