Your black jack challenge and Texas plinking 1000 yard 1moa challenge are the best shows on CZcams
Thank you
I mean...Texas baby!
Agreed!
of course
hats off to all the shooters, it takes a lot of humility to come put yourself and your mistakes on camera for all the world to see. Thanks for the good sportsmanship! love this series
Well said
Those plates under that trees shade are hard to see after a few hits on the 4”&2” plates
This test of marksmanship is a blast to watch
Thank you
I love these 500 yard black jack challenge competition videos and I'm surprised no one has gone for the $5k open sight prize yet!
Keyboards don’t shoot too well. 😜
@@ErikCortina i always wonder how good your eyesight has to be to see a 2" target through a peep at 500 yds. i guess you could calculate gaps between and just imagine where it would be ?
First time i shot 1000 yard, was a practice day, and TR/palma shooters were there, super impressive watching them hit V bulls all day with peep sights... thats close....
@@ErikCortina I’d love to try open sights but I haven’t even shot past 400 yards with the aid of a scope yet lol. I’m just getting into this whole long range shooting. Sure is addicting!
I'll give it try 🤔🤔🤔💪💪💪
I love watching your videos. It is nice seeing all the different rifles and equipment that are available.
Erik - love the videos. Keep em coming! Just came across your channel recently and have learned a ton already. Thanks again.
Thanks again for another wonderfully inspirational video, Erik.
My pleasure!
Blackjack today, TP 1000y yesterday. Living the dream!
💪
Exactly what I was thinking, how good is this, cheers Yogi ✌️🤙
Erik, Keep up the great work ! Have a lot of fun just watching.
Thanks, will do!
I love these challenges!!
I find myself cheering on all the competitors!
Kudos to all those that give it a try!
Someday...
I might try.
(But, no time soon. LoL!)
Excellent content as usual.
Keep'em coming!
Thanks, will do!
Great mix of shooters and rifles. I always look forward to these episodes.
Thank you.
Way to go Lainey! That’s what it’s all about. Thanks for blessing us with another video already Erik, love these things.
My pleasure!!
Some beautiful traces on this video. Getting my 12 and 15yr daughters into this. .22 Vudo 360 first, then Centerfire next. They seem to like 6 Dasher but we are still not sure yet on caliber.
Everyone has been so nice in this sport and helped my daughters out so much. They have gotten so much time behind some many rifles.
I'll come down when you set up a barn. Maybe the broad side.
Had a blast.
Thanks for doing it.
Shadows looked tricky to spot misses in
Great Job guys!
I really enjoy these videos, thanks for putting them up. I’m trying to build my rifle now. So many options and variables.
What build are you doing ?
@@baghdadcamper I’ve got a Defiance Deviant action paired with a Bartlein barrel in 6.5 CM. I’ll put it into a ACC Elite chassis with a TriggerTech Diamond. I’m partial to Leupold so I’ll top it with a Mark 5.
@@PhillipBriscoe27 very nice. I went a factory ruger precision 300 win mag. Quite nice for accuracy actually
Kevin making his dang rounds! Just watched him kill it yesterday on the 1000yd haha
I thought he and the rifle looked familiar lol
I came on here just to see if it was the same guy.
LUV THIS SERIES #OUTSTANDING
That looks like great fun. You have some great shooters showing up to compete.👍 Keep the videos coming.
Thanks, will do!
This has become kind of popular for us now at our local range. we built one for fun and it rarely gets cleared cleanly. As a fun addition add a hanging tennis ball at 1k. Thats a real heartbreaker lol.
Heard texas plinking saying he hit one on accident
Yea this and the 1moa at 1k are epic! I watched since the first episode on both...im in central TX hopefully ill get to shoot these challenges at some point
Awsome,I've been waiting
Thank you
That is a tough shoot on the small target. Real challenge
Awesome seeing LRSU out there repping!
Always!
Great job everyone especially the young lady at the end.....
Indeed
Participation Trophy generation. She got 10 pts..how was that good??
@@lelandgaunt7130 don't be a dick. Don't have nothing say positive, don't say it....
@lelandgaunt7130 🤦♂️
I can clean that open sights with my 10/22. Been doing it for years. Coke can at 2000 is easy too. I'm an internet keyboard warrior, hear me roar!!! (As long as my momma doesn't hear it) LMFAO
Nothing like some humble pie!
😂
YEAH BABY!!! I’ve been waiting forever it seems lol😊
Enjoy!
Great job, everyone
I wish I lived closer, I've got a Borden special 6 dasher and it shoots an 10"-2" kyl at 420yrds with ease.
So, where are all those people running their mouth about shooting these targets with a scope was easy? I'm still waiting for them to bring their open sights! Another great vid Erik please keep them coming. I agree, this and the Texas plinking 1000 yard 1MOA challenge are the best!
Many long range videos people have huge freaking targets hitting the steel. The smaller targets is more fun
Love this❤
Thank you
Another excellent video. There's no open sight shooters in Texas???? Damn!!!
I enjoy watching these. Just starting to get into the precision stuff. I was proud of my howa 1500 until I saw how much people invest into these… it’s crazy
Koby was shooting a stupid tiny group just high and left of the 2". That is pretty impressive despite the misses.
Robert look like a nice guy! Awesome character 👌
All great people.
@@ErikCortina off course
Was awesome seeing Lainey shoot. Still trying to get my wife to learn.
ERIC when are you going to try the TEXAS PLINKING 1000 yrd challenge ?
IDK, It's a long drive for two shots. ;)
@@ErikCortinaHaha yes!
If I try the open sight challenge cn I use a spotting scope to see were my impacts was in previous shot?
They are the best
Thank you
Subbbbbbed!!!! Yep. Iv got a 35 year old remington model 30-06 bdl open shot I'd love to try this at. My rifle has the best open sights iv ever used. But the gun in 35 years has only 135 shots fired thru it since new. I'd need an awful lot of practice before I'd give this a try it's no easy feat with a high power scope so open sights would be like 1 in 1,000,000 that could do that.
Dang I made a mess lol. It's a remington model 700BDL 30-06. With wood stock.
Very 😎😎😎 challenge
These challenges are great do you have to use a bolt gun?
No. Run what you brung. Just need bipod and rear bag.
What part of Texas me and a friend would come give a try
Get the 22lr man there from garand thumb
I've got my 6x45 sending 95gr bergers and would love to come try this!
Send it. We’d love to have you.
@@ErikCortina gotta do a few more pours and have enough to cover the travel expenses
You're great at or below .5648 moa on the smallest 2.824" / 4sq. inch target me thinx. Mostly I watched the trigger pulling. 😊
Thanks 👍
If I was closer I would come down with my open sight 1980 browning BAR 270win and try the open sight challenge
I would love to come do this but i have never reached my rifle anywhere near that distance. Havw shot that far but nothing i have. I have a rifle capable just need to stretch its legs
Erik you should go and do Texas Plinkings 1 MOA at 1000 yards challenge.
Erik you should go take Backfire’s 600 yd hunting challenge he just posted, BUT make him come take your KYL challenge.
😁
The charity should be firearms policy coalition
Woot woot
Its great to see a female give it a go! She hanging with the guys for sure.
Indeed
Any info on what was lainey shooting ??great content
She was using her husbands rifle, Koby.
6 dasher
You guys are in SA? I’m local as well, want to get into distance shooting. What ranges you guys recommend?
CTSA in New Braunfels
Another option would be that shooters may choose which target to double up on after reaching the blackjack.
Thus someone may choose to use leftover ammo to just shoot at 12 inch or 6 inch target.
Meh. The idea is to test your limits.
@@ErikCortina Thanks.
Erik! Thanks for all the great videos. I’m brand new to reloading and have a question. I see people agonizing over distance to the lands. I’m trying to figure out why. I understand you need to find the sweet spot as far as seating depth goes and that you need a decent measurement of the lands on your specific rifle. Why does this measurement need to be exact? Actually knowing the exact distance from the lands seems irrelevant to me. But getting a close measurement and starting load development off of that close measurement seems to me all that one would need. It seems like in seating depth testing you would still find the same node and knowing the exact distance from the lands would just be G wiz at that point. Finding a seating depth that works well and replicating it seems like all you have to do. Am I flawed in my reasoning? I know I’m able to get a measurement that accurate within 5 or so thousandths ….if I start at a theoretical 15 off the lands and find a good not working back…is t that good enough to get the same result? Seems like the bullets I want to shoot don’t mind relatively large jumps too. (6.5CM 140 from a few manufacturers)
Search for “Chasing the lands is stupid”
yeah, right "Easy Money" lol!
😂
i wanna sign up have two rifles i would like to try this with
Would so love to see this challenge done with stock standard rifles, straight w the shelf. It’s quite entertaining listening to people talking up their builds🤣. But excuses are better.
I may take you up on the "open sight" challenge one day, depending on what you're calling open sights. About impossible to to hit anymore than maybe the 3rd target, but it would be fun anyways. If a long range soule sight, and aperture would be okay with you anyways.
As long as it has no optics, I'm good.
@@ErikCortina Okay, we'll see. What email would I need to contact you at?
Do a bonus shot of 600 yards and make it a can of tannerite
🤔
James Eagleman from Barbourcreek Long Range Shooting & Hunting School. This is a real life instructor that says this is a possibility.
Someone educate me: I thought suppressors reduced accuracy? Is that not the case?
Can you do the challenge
What is the caliber limit? Specifically asking if a 30cal magnum is allowed?
Sure. No problem.
Just an old Sourdough at 60.33 N, One would be lucky to have 9 hrs of shooting light at this time of year. I have to wonder how the score might change if all shooters wore a bill cap to block the sun and the targets were rotated 45 degrees? Go Shoot >>> > X
You've offered this challenge to open sights, will you allow a spotter ? I shoot bpcr a spotter is usually a necessity
I'm pretty sure I can't even see 2" at 500 yards I would just be guessing, this is a test of eye sight vs shooting
Didn't the Ackley guy just try the 1 MOA challenge on Texas Plinking with the same setup?
Yes he did.
FYI, don't refer to 2 inch as "small" or "tiny" - it's average
I'd like to try the 5k open sight challenge. Only question is, do I get to use a weapon of my choice or something you choose? Also depends on timeline cause my schedule is kinda tied up right now....
Run what you brung!
Ok, I'm torn between using an AR 15 platform/variant, a Lee Enfield no.4 mk.1 or my M1A rifle(s)
What part TX this in I want give it a run
Floresville
@@ErikCortina cool I'll like to try this challenge one day soon
Does... open sight thing have to be shot on your property?
Yes
I would love to see more ladies compete in the Blackjack challenge and it looked like the wind was winning again. lol.
Wind always wins. Lol
That was alright. Can see the 2 inch target being a bugger
It sure is.
I just built something cool and I'm feeling cocky.
Is 2930fps a sweet spot? I’ve been watching a lot of long range shooting lately and I hear a lot of 2930 speeds😛
No such thing as a speed sweet spot.
Famous last words ahhh F***😂
Would you consider allowing a true budget rifle (sub $200 TC Compass in 6.5CM and a sub $200 Bass Pro scope) to give this a shot?
Run what you brung!
Is this challenge and prize money available for UK shooters ? I have built the target rack and would love to tag you into it if the guys here can win it as well
If they win it on your range, you have to pay them. 😉
Lol Lainey is like my daughter. Totally relaxed no big deal then proceeds to shoot laser beams. Awesome job everyone
❤😊
Who's Charity?
It’s a perfectly adequate target 18:19 😢
Son hedef hilesi...
I could do that with my BB gun with iron sites
You and many others. 😂
Oh come on, you know perfectly well you wouldn't even need the iron sights.
@@William_Charles_Baker lol
...also, OKAYYY LAINEY. WE SEE YOU!!
Maybe paralax mistake
posted had to take it down words.
"2 inches is smaller than you think it is.". That's what she said. :)
😂
#wrongammo 🤣
#wrongammo
#wrong ammo😂
I came up with my own challenge at 100m due to lack of longer range in my area. 15 shots, really small target (0.5 MOA): czcams.com/video/WZ5oZl-469E/video.html
2nd episode of asking for a 3shot group of each competitor at 100 yards to see how dialed they are with their loads :) please Mr. Eric
It’s kinda obvious that if there hitting a 2” plate at 500 I’d dare say there 3/4” groups at the biggest at 100…probably more like 1/2” or better… why is there a need to show 100 yard groups when you whacking 2” at 500 is all I’m saying. Not trying to sound like a dink.. it’s just kinds obvious
It would take too long to do all of that.
Some of the shooters don’t hit the 2 inch plate . Also if you can shoot a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards but you can’t get a blackjack that’ll tell us more of how much the wind is playing a factor during that shoot. But then again I don’t know why I’m exposing myself to you who just couldn’t resist to give their opinion.
Explaining *
I've loaded loads for rifles that shot 5 shot groups on a dime at 100. Quarter size at 200, 3" at 250 yards, 1" at 300...
Some of the best loads at 100 just don't shoot well at longer range. 100 is a great start but if you don't stretch them out, you could be sadly disappointed
I would like to see the Lee Enfield No4 Mk2(T) doing the challenge (czcams.com/video/nWpZGJpk6fk/video.html)
*promosm* 😔
