I was surprized the Mamba wasn't blown to pieces with a Caliber that big . Was it shooting just underneath it ? Kinda of a shock from a ricochet shot ? When it was being carried , it appeared to be whole . How was it killed without tearing it apart ?
Contrary to popular belief, African calibers - like the .416's - make very reasonable holes and internal expansion, on a snake, has absolutely no time to occur.

Yeah I agree! I have rattlesnakes that frequent my property in Florida and they keep the rodents down. I never kill them I just remain vigilant

Nice hunting. Did not have to kill the little Mamba, however. These animals are more beneficial than dangerous. I myself did kill a few large ones, but they were in urban areas with kids around. Kind regards.
