super Mario odyssey hard level and super Mario 3d world challenge. Champion's road, similar to I played every Mario kart game or hiding an impossible balloon in super Mario odyssey - Hry
I think the version of Champions Road on the Wii U is actually much harder than the Switch version just because of your lack of ability to dive on the Wii U making it a lot more difficult to make quick recoveries
Not to mention all the characters are slower.
@@PaulRodela yeah I really feel like the slowness makes it so much harder honestly
@@plantyhyeah like that one section he kept back tracking on. You're supposed to run over it, but on the wiiu it's much slower so you'll get hit if you try running the entire time
True. I also think that playing as peach is an unfair comparison. Floating is very broken and it would also make the other levels better. No power ups mario is the way to compare these imo, and then champions road is harder than grandmaster galaxy
On the Wii U I couldn’t beat it. On the switch, I’ve beaten it with every character.
You can also just run across the blocks where every second one is missing in champion's road.
Also that champions road can be done with multiple players, which can fluctuate the difficulty depending on who you are playing with
It made my experience from impossible to easiest level and i'm not happy about that
I love how we all just collectively forgot that 3D Land also exists and also had a very difficult final bonus level.
I was surprised it wasn't here, it was really hard for me to beat it for the first time
Really? I got through it on my first attempt, although that may have been luck because I'm not good at video games and took 15 hours on Champion's Road.
3d land's final is easy cause tanooki leaf is cheese
cuz this one is just too ez compared to these 3 like
@@30THMAN. i really liked the part in nsmb2 where mario became 3d and 3ded all over the game
Chamipons Road is definetly the one that gave me the hardest time of these three and i think the reason why is, as long as you arent playing peach or rosalina ,its the game that gives you the least movement options out of these three. I mean if you REALLY got the hang of odysee its kinda ridiculous what kinda stuff you can do.
Every day the voice gets deeper and the content gets better

I am liking the original post out of spite of this reply@@GaybrohamStinkton

8:15 oh no he doesn't know you can just hold the button to keep high bouncing on enemies in this game. No timing needed. The piranha creeper part is best done with Mario as it's designed for him to smoothly jump between them. Peach's float makes it weird since it entirely halts her upwards momentum. The other characters can do it more or less just fine. Also, I've died many times when I felt I shouldn't on the one block gap section too, you're supposed to just run across it, but the charging chucks make you jump, so at that point you can try to keep your speed and pray, or bounce on each chuck and hover (since you were using Peach, could also double jump with Rosalina), or take it carefully like you did, which is harder than it looks with the increased player speed.
You can run across the bars in Champions Road. Most jank you described is fixable by playing the sections correctly (with better strats)
The weird timing he mentioned could have been solved by keeping the jump button pressed.
I think this is a really good video! Though, you did forget about the secret final hard level in 3D Land, which is similar to 3D Worlds in structure while being entirely different
I thinik the hardest mario level is actually when you are in a ranked match with kento and he keeps throwing
Here's my ranking of these levels. For completeness, I have also included Special 8-Crown from 3D Land and The Ultimate Test (the base version of Grandmaster Galaxy).
1. The Perfect Run
2. Champion's Road
3. The Ultimate Test
4. Special 8-Crown
5. Darker Side
Where would the final level of Wonder be at?
@@cjtheracer0113 Ineligible for comparison, as Wonder is a 2D game.
underrated!!! i love that your videos are high quality (content, editing, nice voice etc.) without being over the top with sound effects, screaming... it's very refreshing :D
Good video. The notorious "Lily Pad Ride Level" from Super Mario Sunshine might deserve a try as well.
Or the plinko machine
@@Samandjam555Plinko is easy compared to the poison river red coins, easily.
@@WeegeeDX on depends on personal experience I guess
As someone who is very used to the jank of Mario Sunshine I don't find either the lily pad shine or the Pachinko machine to be that hard.
This Level gave me ptsd ...
For me Champion's Road is definitely the hardest, with The Perfect Run at 2nd, and Darker Side is not even close to the first 2.
One thing worth noting is that to 100% 3D World, you need to beat Champion's Road with every character. I can't recall from memory which character is the hardest, but it's most likely Toad because of his smaller jump height. So if we're comparing which level is the hardest to beat by any means necessary, then yes, Champions Road isn't too bad. But considering it's involvement in 100% which necessitates playing with characters that aren't Peach or Rosalina, I personally think Champion's Road is the hardest.
you don't have to, you can just add them after you beat it
Toad definitely, and only because of the last section where you have to do those massive jumps on the boost panels. Almost impossible in the Wii U version with him, slightly possible in the Switch version.
But as long as you're playing as Luigi, Peach, or Rosalina the level is a piece of cake.
no lol@@AverageCommentor
toad isnt that hard
@@AK_804.
True enough, just you're way more likely to die with him. But Champion's Road as a whole isn't very difficult. I've created Mario Maker levels that give me more of a challenge lol.
Just a few things about champoin's road:
7:50 you dont have to land precisely on each block. You just have to land on the first one and the others you can just run over them. The challenge here is running past all of the charging enemies because if you have to jump to avoid them, then you have to do a good landing as well.
8:06 keep in mind that this stage is beatable by every character. And this section can also be done in many ways. It it a timing challenge. And also, for the double blocks, you can walljump from the next blocks (the one that is too far to reach) and land on the next block when it switches back.
8:11 The same thing happened to me until I realized that it is NOT timing based thing. You just have to hold jump and you will always get the max height when bouncing.
When I was a kid me and my brother grinded to beat champion's road for like two months straight at one point. It was brutal, but we got there in the end.
Was it fun?
@@NickMario1Yeah! I remember bragging about it on Miiverse after we did it lol
Yo i clicked on this vid after a long while since i last saw ur vids and it was supper funny to hear how ur voice changed, then i realized wors mario kart vid was 2 years ago damn.
Glad to see u still uploading!
I'm definitely subscribed bro. Keep making your videos because we all enjoy them.
Loved the video! glad to see you branching out into more games.
8:13 You can just hold the jump button here
The Darker Side of the Moon is the easiest level out of all levels you mentioned.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
It’s only difficult because the level is SUPER long. But besides that, the game does give you tons of hearts in consideration, which makes it not as hard. Personally, I like the shorter, more difficult levels in 3D World and Galaxy 2 better, since they are more fun and rewarding to accomplish.
Couldn't agree more. It's also worth mentioning that 3D world has multiplayer which can make it easier to beat Champions Road.
There is also a level on mario 3d land, when you finish all levels in the secret world you unlock by beating the boss, that i've never get into a half of it, but it was a few years ago and i can't play it anymore so i don't really know if it is that hard
Dude, im so proud of how far you came. You gonna be a great youtuber bro
Great video tho I think 3d land last level, which is the "Champions Road" of that game, it's harder than Champions Road itself. Ofc it doesn't mean that's harder than Galaxy 2, that's the toughest one XD
Well my man you have a lot to learn about darker side so i will educate you. Firstly the goombas are there for the optional miniboss that is the hat which gives you a life-up heart after defeat. Then in the uproot section there is a hidden block with a heart in it that you can use to stand on and get to the top ledge. There will be some coins there and you skip the ice-water section. You mentioned glydon being able to skip the forks section, but if you use the wind draft correctly then you can not only skip the entire sub-area. You can also completely skip bowser and then you close of by doing u-skip in the ending wire segment.
And before you ask: no, I have not executed any of these skips myself because i unfortunately don't have the ability to.
At 7:45 you could actually just dash along the blocks instead of jumping on each one. I learned that the hard way. Love your content.
This earned a follow-up great video
I love your videos, keep it up
7:53 you can sprint over those blocks and you'll run over the gaps instead of having to jump over each one. Same thing in the 2D Mario games with 1 block gaps
The perfect run only took me n my brother like 50 minutes probably because we realized how easily Co-Star Luma can be used to cheese it. It can hold the moving lasers in the pullstar bit, blow up the bomb mines, and freeze hammer bros/boomerang bros. Not to mention crouching by boomerang bros means their boomerangs miss you. Was absolutely relieving finally beating the game after 10 years.
Champion’s Road on the other hand has taken us hours to beat. It was torture. And we have to go back in and beat it with the rest of the characters since there’s only two of us. Rosalina does absolutely cheese most of it though with the spin jump, especially the beat blocks.
We haven’t beat darker side yet.
The beepblock section in champion's road is a lot more fun with a character that cant float. Jts really satisfying to stall in midair with ground pounds
there's a few methods to make champion's road much more consistent.
For the Chargin' Chuck section, you can jump over it using boost/P speed and landing in the center. mario and toad may not be able to do this as easily, but everyone else can do it very well. you can also hug the top wall while at max speed to avoid the first chargin chuck. as for the piranha creeper section, if you're not holding any direction on the analog stick, you will lose all horizontal momentum upon bouncing. (it also seems like you weren't holding A, too). with the ants, you seemed to know the correct method, bouncing off of them and then wall jumping. the beat blocks have several ways to pass. it's possible to run full speed and do small jumps to barely reach each block at the end, and the timing will line up. you can also stall out with peach. the intended method seems to be hopping back and forth between them, however.
This probably would not change the veredict of the video but I definitely think you should've considered 3D Land's final level as well. It's the same "Grand Finale" style of level and the difficulty of it is definitely notable.
Not only is the Switch version of 3D World easier (mostly due to the speed increase) but it’s also important to remember that in order to truly 100% the game, you must beat that level as all five different characters. It’s really hard to beat with Toad and Mario. I played the original Wii U version all the way to 100% when I was younger, and I 100%’d the Switch version a year ago.
In the pull star section on the perfect run, you can purposely fall out of the pull star, catch yourself for vertical momentum and use that height to ignore most obstacles.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but on the Wii U version of 3D World, didn’t you have to beat every level as all of the characters including Rosalina?
I’m asking because I didn’t get to Champions Road on the Wii U version, but I did on the Switch and just assumed it was the same.
Champion’s Road is the only one of these I’ve beaten and AHHHH so true about some of the jumps just feeling off. Most of my deaths in 3D World felt so bad because I didn’t feel in control or like I knew where my character was going to end up after a jump. I’m still salty
for the section in champion's road with the chargin chucks on the weird platforms, you can just run across the gaps. you don't have to jump.
3:31 The flower part is not precise, the enemies can be avoided through timing
The lazers are not random
Crouching and not moving isn't a good examply of 'not making an error'
Reminder to all with access to ways to play galaxy 2 that I highly recommend trying to beat the perfect run but keeping yoshi all the way through using infinite flutter. Very challenging, but one of the most rewarding experiences in a mario game (even if one of the most flexless experiences because of the amount of time you have to waste explaining why it's cool)
Good video! This does make me curious, though, as a series aimed towards children, which game is the most difficult overall?
Champions Road for me!
I feel so good, knowing i mastered it
And bro, you used peach to hover… so haha using no power ups
Heyo a Jopes upload? Nice!
You should do a hardest 2d Mario level video next. There’s definitely a lot of candidates to choose from in that series.
There is no question in my mind that Champion's Road is the hardest. The Perfect Run really only has two difficult sections, that being the fourth and final, whereas Champion's Road is difficult all the way through (And Darker Side was never even really a contender; it's more a test of resiliance than a test of skill, and forget skipping the Fork section, with Glydon you can also skip the Pokio and 2D sections by gliding straight to the Bowser portrait).
However, I feel like Special 8-Crown from 3D Land bares mentioning. It may not have been the first final gauntlet in 3D Mario, but I like to think this level truly laid the groundwork for what these levels are truly capable of. The platforming is tight, the style of platforming keeps switching on you preventing you from getting too comfortable, the obstacles are tight, and they even threw a boss fight in the middle of it. I still think Champion's Road has a higher barrier of completion, but I also think this level at least deserves to be in the competition.
Damn bro last time one of your videos came in my recommended was two years ago you’re a whole ass old man now
I think Champion's Road is the most interesting of the three. It felt a lot more streamlined than a mishmash of various levels, and I never felt like it was unfair, just precise.
I think the music being more or less exclusive to it makes it a lot better of a final level, honestly. It makes it feel much more special.
Then again, I played on Wii U and went to the HOME menu whenever I died so I didn't have to smuggle in powerups. So that may also be related lol
Champion's Road's music was also in that one top-down hexagon level and its harder rehash, so two stages before Champion's Road itself. If it were FULLY exclusive to Champion's Road it would REALLY feel special, especially since it's Gusty Garden and CR is very overtly Galaxy-themed and the end of the game.
If i had to pick one, it absolutely has to be odyssey's. You give the game the most fluid controls some of the tightest jumps while also implementing cappy abilities and shortcuts for the bold are straight up maddening to pull off, and when someone finds a frog skip _instantly_ remove it, the game becomes pure chaos but in the best way possible..seriously i dare you to use assist mode and 2 player, I'd argue the assist bubble actually makes things harder cause it blocks you of shortcuts
As someone who played both Galaxy 2’s Perfect Run and 3D World’s Champion’s Road (on Wii U), I found Champion’s Road much more painful 😂
3D land has a final level that took me a pretty long time too
the perfect run from super mario galaxy 2 easily takes this part
cant believe world S8-🚩 from 3D Land wasnt mentioned but good video
The cannon galaxy level on 3D world or whatever its called is much harder, just because you have to climb cannonballs which is hell
This channel goes HARD!
the purple coin level in super mario galaxy 1 with the disappearing platforms was hard asf
Cosmic cannon cluster! Champions road is a cakewalk
Super Mario 3D-Land also has a super hard final level, but it's been a while since I beat it so admittedly I don't remember how difficult it is.
Lilypad Level in Mario Sunshine is the hardest for me. Oh, the suffering to simply get there, only to realize its so messed Up and hard to Beat... No words
I am one of the 3 percent subscribed! Never played galaxy 2, but I agree champions road is harder than Odyssey. Part of that is how familiarity with Odyssey’s move set lets you game a lot of the level design. Which the developers did on purpose, and I love that. Have you played Celeste? If you like this sort of challenge, that’s pretty much all Celeste is.
The Perfect Run. Hands down.
Nice video Jopes!
For darker side you can also defeat the boss at the beginning for extra hearts
I beat Champions Road and Darker Side first try, I still haven’t beaten GrandMaster Galaxy. It’s the hardest easily
I probably suck but no power ups Mario champions road sounds like the definition of pain
as someone who's beat champions road with all 5 playable characters, i can tell you that your first mistake was picking peach. playing that level as luigi makes it several times easier
I still haven't beaten champions road. Personally, it's been a while, but I feel like you can't cheese it as much as you can the other ones.
He forgot to mention Lava Spire Daredevil Run from Super Mario Galaxy, since that level is JUST like The Perfect Run from Galaxy 2, because you have to go through the whole level without even making ONE single mistake! Because there’s no water in the level, if you lose your Bee Mushroom or Cloud Flower Suit, you die and automatically get sent all the way back to the very beginning. In fact, Lava Spire Daredevil Run is the 1st and only Daredevil comet in Super Mario Galaxy in which Mario/Luigi has to go through the entire level instead of just fighting the boss.
I fucking hate that one, but eh; I beat that game 200% twice so it’s not that bad to a masochist like me
Me and my friend always die on the final dash panel section and haven’t gotten past it yet
I feel like there was a a bit of misunderstanding when it comes to Champions Road. The 1 space platforms can be crossed by just holding Y. And holding B as you fall on an enemy makes you jump automatically.
Fun fact. A 3D level that is harder than champions road that you forgot to mention is super mario 3d lands Special world 8-Crown. It is longer and much more difficult than champions road
I’ve beaten all three. Including also beat the pachinko machine on super Mario sunshine and 100% that save file. I also 100% Super Mario 64 5 times, once on Wii, once on Wii u, once on switch and twice on the ds version and once on the 3ds port. I crave levels that make me wanna pull my hair out, so do your worst miyamoto
Champions Road, next question
The final level of 3D Land felt harder than all of those, maybe I’m misremembering though… Regardless, you really should try it next time !
Three words. The. Perfect. Run.
Here’s how I would rank all of these levels from easiest to hardest, assuming you play as Mario in all three games to keep comparisons as fair as possible:
-Darker Side with shortcuts and you can take damage
-Darker Side with shortcuts but no damage taken
-Champion’s Road with powerups
-Darker Side without shortcuts but you can take damage
-The Perfect Run with Yoshi
-Champion’s Road without powerups
-Darker Side with no shortcuts or damage taken
-The Perfect Run without Yoshi (as far as I can tell, it’s designed to be impossible so it’s the hardest by default)
What about Mario Sunshine's lily pad stream level or pachinko machine? They are hard because of rushed game design rather than being intelligently difficult, but are still contenders nonetheless.
How do you do that air role thing? I see people do it all the time, but I never figure it out.
Badge Marathon from Mario Wonder should be in this conversation too, I thnk
READ THE TITLE, NOT 2D, 3D GAMES HARDEST LEVELS
My ranking:
1. The Perfect Run (i have 241 stars on galaxy 2)
2. Champions Road (easy to cheese as peach)
3. Darker Side (you can skip like half the level for this one)
Edit: I just beat the perfect run and yup it was pretty hard
You can just run across the bars in the part with the chargin chucks
Man, perfect run gives me a nostalgia burst
No likes. Better luck next time🤷♂️
Darker side is a toned down “hardest level” which I like it for that, because it’s actually pretty doable.
Don't forget to cover 3D Land's hardest level
A note about the section mentioned at 7:49, the unusual feel and constant falling through the bars it not exclusive to the Switch version, it happened to me plenty of times on the Wii U version.
Man Puberty came fast little man
fantastic video. but you are missing Super Mario 3D land. ive heard that the final level of Super Mario 3D land is the hardest in the series but i have yet to make it to that level to find out for myself
edit: absolutely love your channel
Did you know that in champions road you can run across the small bars without jumping
I dont understand how you can give this to grandmaster galaxy like yeah i spent hours on it as a kid dying hundreds of times but after going back to it as an adult i beat it within single digit attempts just take your time, dont die trying to save a cloud, and use starbits/duck on the boomerang bros and you will be good
I knew that Darker Side couldn't be the hardest, given that it's the only one of these I have beaten.
Not sure if anyone else said it yet but the Impossible Pack DLC for NSMB2 is also really really hard, on par with these. Although I don't think this level can be bought anymore since the 3DS eshop closed unless you already have it
3D hardest levels, nsmb2 is 2d, so therefore it isn’t allowed
Puberty hitting my bro like crazy
7:45 you're supposed to run across these blocks with gaps. Makes it a lot easier
Interesting video, however, you missed one.
You missed "Special World 8-Crown" from Super Mario 3D Land
I think Mario Wonder's final badge challenge is worth mentioning here, though its difficulty is cut down a bit by the inclusion of checkpoints
2d game, the entire video is 3d Mario hard levels, so Mario wonder is not included
Try SM3DL's Special 8👑, its like Champions Road but harder, harder to unlock, worse depth perception, a litteral boss fight halkway through and 3dls 8 direction controls
Though easier than champion's road, I think the final level of mario 3D land should've been looked at too. Cosmic clones are horrifying, let alone giant cosmic clone at the very end of the level
For me: Seaside Volleyball from Super Mario Oddysey
Darker side is pretty forgiving compared to champions road and galaxy
