she is a perfect example of why women need to be self made and independent. if she actually had an actual skill or an actual career she could leave him and start over, but its clear to me she has neither. she allowed herself to be where she is at. she choose to not have a career or evena way to support herself....

Child trafficking survivor here throwing my two cents in. Trafficking is often very public and under your noses thanks to how wide spread the internet is, it's nit always locking young men and women up in a basement or cages in chains. Kids and people do get swapped in plain sight simply due to the fact of anomonity and how easy it is to isolate and control another human being is, especially if you're say a homeless, desperate pregnant first time mom with no strong familia connections. From what I've heard she's safe after one of his cousins rescued her and her daughter from that icy cold trailer and he BLEW UP ON HER saying she owed him and everything. Her saving grace was that he and A&E were dumb enough to film this and that only his wife is enabling his behaviors, not the rest of his family. Though she's clearly miserable too.

She was just desperate for a home for her and her baby. Poor Christie may also just be trying to get by. The dynamic is so weird and I think Danny got a sexual thrill out of ALL of it. No shade to mutual kinks. Obviously they shouldn’t emotionally harm people and cross boundaries without consent. Hard agree. Wouldn't be at all surprised if his plan was to have multiple "daughters" living on his property under the watchful eye of his cameras and his indoctrinated, abused wife.
Christie's whole emotional range seems very similar to the cult wives you see stories about, where she's heard so many times that this man is dangerous and she refuses to listen and not only accepts the abuse but actively helps him recruit new victims in the hope he'll lay off her, but then ends up jealous of said victims during his honeymoon phase with them. And as for Danny himself, the previous 'survival' business, all the shipping containers, the cameras, the long term, repeated attempts at adopting adult women in vulnerable situations, specifically preying on young single mothers, the casual abuse of his wife that he's comfortable engaging in even when he knows TV cameras are rolling, his utter, blissful conviction that all these women "want to be with" him...
Not saying that's any more than speculation, especially on Christie's part, but those are definitely the vibes I'm getting.

The fact that he talks all about how Iliana "wants to be with me" all the time is also really telling. Like.... what about her and Christie's relationship? He says "she wants to be with me" and not "she wants to be with us" and as subtle as it is, that's really weird and unnerving IMO. It's also weird that he contribute literally nothing to her, makes Christie solely responsible for her care and health and that of her unborn baby, and is never around and yet he still not only goes on and on about himself as some sort of savior but goes on and on about JUST himself as some sort of savior, taking all the credit just to be that much more of a jerk and creep. I just hope Iliana, her baby, and Christie all are ok and get better, happier lives. I hate seeing poor Christie stuck with a dude that somehow "disagrees" with what she says..... about her own emotions and then says she's "so hard to live with" for.... being stressed. I hope she leaves him in the dust.
I also think it sucks that this show kinda makes the whole concept of adopting people who are adults look bad and weird and creepy and all that, so basically... creates a stigma. Yes, there are certainly very strange, shitty, and creepy motives someone could have (though that's true of adoption in general tbh), but there's also a lotta really innocent, wholesome, sweet motives someone could have. Maybe they took someone in and became a mother figure to them and wants to make them legally their kid for inheritance and familial rights and such but the adoptee happens to have become a legal adult in that time. Or maybe someone took in a parentless kid as a ward back when they weren't allowed to "truly" adopt the kid for whatever dumb reason like being single/unmarried but then those rules change and they finally can but the kid has grown up in that time. (I know any cases of that would be quite a while ago now, but still that's an example of why someone might have done this at one point in time). Or for the same reason Iliana THOUGHT she was being adopted: a way to give a young person who is legally an adult but still basically a "kid" desperately needed support, security, and shelter. I hope this disaster of a reality tv show doesn't do too much damage, even if just for a short while.

I feel like if Danny wasn't a creep who forced it on her Christy would probably actually get along with Ileana, Ileana does seem to have appreciation for Christy; it's really sad how messed up their wedding dynamic is, he seems to be trying to pin blame for every little issue on Christy and then Ileana was dragged into this. I have watched multiple videos about this show and specifically Danny and everyone can clearly see how messed up his interactions are. Honestly kind of wish Christy and Ileana took the RV and go and be Mother and Daughter without his disgusting ass(obviously we would never know how well that would go bit I think it would work so much better than Danny being even remotely involved) regardless I despise how he acts, and treats both Christy AND Ileana it's so uncomfy and gross

The US is the last place I'd want to live to give birth; you'd go bankrupt from having an ultrasound, and barred from taking your baby home because you're not able to pay the medical fees. She mentioned the fear of being homeless in Austria, but from what I know, the support system over there would've at least made sure she was well-fed and could care for her child. I mean, she must have been more than desperate to take the option she did with all the red flags going on.

Where do you read this stuff. You just need insurance . I had a dead end basic retail job and had insurance and it paid for open heart surgery . I think i had some copays. Once you hit a certain deductible you don't have to pay anything else the rest if the year. So...have a job... doesn't have to be high paying or glamourous. Opt in for medical insurance or opt out and get the extra money on your check and get a private plan. There are low income government type ones that are really cheap each month. Cheaper than a phone data plan and the copays might be high but it will save your neck for major expenses. So. Yea. We all aren't over here running around in medical debt. People who make poor decisions with employment or taking jobs that offer no benefits and purposely not purchasing a basic plan from a companywill get shafted. I'm as low end povert borderline middle class as you can get and i have had no issues with 2 heart surgeries and like 50 ER visits . With an easy dinky full time job.
Sum up. In America, you put forth a minimum effort of just holding down a full time job at any major retailer, food place, business , etc. You can get health insurance. Better private insurance for good care. With no waiting months for appointments or tests or overcrowding. And a lot of employers match what you pay or something like that. I lose waaaaaay less every paycheck paying for private insurance than what you get taxed to pay for government funded ...sooooooo. you're not really getting it "free" and I'm probably paying less. Hospitals can't turn people away or pregnant mothers going into labor. They take care of emergencies and a lot of times eat that cost because the ppl cant pay or declare bankruptcy . Which causes prices to go up so i guess theres a disadvantage . But it proves ppl dont get thrown out and not treated. All you have to say is "bill me" then work out a payment plan or ..just dont pay ...you dont get jailed. Credit score gets ruined .
