Karen, this is beautiful! So happy for you! Art is freedom! I'd love to see how you make these journals, I've always wanted to do something like that myself and I really like your style! Line and wash look perfectly natural and delicate. Like sunlight throuigh branches and leaves.
Your drawings are marvelous! 😍😍😍 I don't think that I want to do the mixed media that you are doing, but I will continue to watch your channel, who knows, I might change my mind. In any case, you should always follow your heart and do what brings you joy and don't worry what others think.

Gel printing, cyanotypes (never hear of that until now), your gorgeous tower drawings, art journal making, your process for creating art journal pages with your prints… all of it is so beautiful! Hallo liebe Karen, die Sachen, die Du machst, sind wunderschön. Allerdings habe ich vor Jahren schon Mixed-Media gestaltet mit Zeichnungen / Collagen, Papiergestaltung aller Art. Das kommt für mich leider zu spät, da ich diese "Phase" hinter mir habe und eigentlich Deine wundervollen Malvorlagen liebe. Ich habe noch nicht alle Deine Vorlagen gemalt, werde es aber weiterhin tun, auch wenn ich ein bisschen das Gefühl habe, dass Du das nicht mehr so gerne machst. Schade, denn gerade das Ausprobieren von vielen verschiedenen Farben innerhalb der Portraits, das Mixen der Stifte und Gestalten der Hintergründe hat mir viel Inspiration gegeben. Ich konnte viel von Dir lernen und habe es geliebt, Dir zuzuschauen, wie Du Leben in die Gesichter gebracht hast. Ich wünsche Dir trotzdem viel Erfolg und Vergnügen bei Deinen jetzigen Arbeiten. @@ArtbyKarenValentine We all have personal journeys and rather coloring, painting or making journals I don’t think its any of those it’s actually the process and how it makes you feel! I live in Albuquerque we are in the East Mountains so we have trees, they are pinon pines and juniper trees I miss leaves but still love all the colors around me. From coloring I have learned how color’s interact and look and I think have a better appreciation for that? But I also know at times you just need to look at what else? So let the creative mind process move you on. I am also into Yoda today so please I am not trying to advise I just know how it feels to need a change! Enjoy and keep creating!
I'm so intimidated by line drawing I have been quietly practicing but I hven't gotten ther yet. So refreshing the journals I hope you tech so I can learn.
It still intimidates me Carmen. Drawing with pencil or pen is very new to me. (I’m so used to creating the shapes and contours with colored pencils) Sometimes they turn out great. Sometimes they are terrible. So I don’t really consider what I’ll be doing a tutorial as much as just, hey come draw with me!❤️

I will love to see some drawing! I started coloring out of Santiago to learn drawing and it reminds me so much of what you say in your video! I hope to go for portraits and people one day. That idea actually came out of me Reading Books and having pictures of the Main characters in my head I would like to safe in a way.

I tend to do things obsessively for a period and flit around to something else when I’m bored. I’m no master but I enjoy playing in any medium.
