A video I would love to see done on CZcams would be “watch this before you decide to become a Vet” because I am very interested in Vet Med and the veterinary field, but I want to ensure that a Veterinarian is 1,000% the way to go
Hello. i just want to tell you a few things about being a vet. i am a vet student and i work in clinics in summer. first thing people don't seem to know is that studying is really hard and you can not do it if you don't love the job. it is basically in latin and you are expected to know everything about ruminants(cow sheep etc) equidaes(horses donkeys etc) carnivores(mainly cat and dogs) and pigs. compared to human doctors it is really a lot. my midterms are in two weeks and i am studying at least 6 hours a day for the last 2 weeks. and next week i need to study 10 hours a day. but i love every second of it because everything you learn is something you will use in your job. so jut be prepared to study a lot. and just studying and learning things from your school will not be enough, you need to work in a clinic or a hospital to really understand the job hours. here in Turkey we work for 6 days a week, 11 hours a day. that is if there is no emergency patient. if so it can go up to 14 hours easily. but like i said if you love animals and you really want this job that 11 hours go by really quickly. i don't mean to make you not like the job but you need to understand it is not all fun and games. hopefully this was helpful to you. I hope you become a veterinarian. good luck.
Volunteer and shadow!! You will really get a feel for what you are looking for
Definitely try to volunteer or work as a tech assist at a vet before going to vet school! I wanted to go and now I work at the second biggest animal hospital in the country and I learned real fast that vet school is probably not for me 😅
Same I’m going to volunteer learn the basics and go up from there during breaks away from school I’m in the 8th grade so soon I will be eligible to apply for a job soon enough but before I can learn as much as you can by volunteering take notes while you do it so you can look over them and when you go to school to study for it you will know and won’t be behind
Madison White me too I’ve been doing my research
You literally have my dream job 😭
Briana Lopez sane but i’m extremely bad at math and i only have one last chance to go back to school and i don’t have hope ): i feel useless tbh like i just can’t i have problems when it comes to school
Mine too ❤
@@p00pysc00p you can do it baby girl .
@@p00pysc00p Just take a breath and try and figure out what study techniques work best for you. I'm not sure what grade you are in but keep pushing forward. Once you figure out how to study and how to really apply yourself it can open a whole world of opportunities
Briana Lopez definitely recommend to do more research.....
So I’m a freshman and have always had the dream of becoming a vet tech and so I decided to start watching these type of videos and when I see “El Paso” I freaked out I was like OMG ITS IN MY CITYYYYYY
Ahhh! I’m amazed at how many people have commented that they’re also in El Paso or somewhere close by! 😁🙌🏻
girl me too
Try applying to silva health magnet high school, you can graduate as a vet tech :) its in el paso in front of UMC
Hey! if you still are on that path check me out! I answer and want to help!
Omg same broooo
I’ve never seen the apomorphine crushed up under the eyelid before. I know it is a thing but I’ve only used the injectable. It’s amazing how fast and effective it works 🐾
Injectable def work really fast, recall injected half dose of apomorphine, and the dog started to vomit. Anyways, I think the recommended way to use tablet apomorphine was to crushed up, mix with some saline and give it under the eyelid.
It works really well. I’ve seen it be used before
This video popped up on my recommended, but when I lived in east El Paso I always took my golden retriever to your clinic. My experience there was always positive and my pup was well taken care of. Thank you for all you do for El Paso’s fur babies!!❤️
Ahhh yay! I’m glad you and your baby had a good experience with us. Thank you!! 😁💗
For everyone commenting on here please volunteer for a while at your nearest vet. It looks easy and mostly ok. But there is a reason the vet field has some of the highest suicide rate. Long hours. Mostly thankless job. Clients who don't quiet understand. Patients who are very very sick. Horrible pay. Please be very mindful of your vet and staff. We are only doing ok. To my vet team thank you.
But online it says they get paid well...
Ironic How This Popped On My Recommend List And I’ve Been Thinking About Going To School To Become A Vet Tech
4:56 this is important
i love the fact that Dudley had chocolate all over his face 😂😂😂😂
This was super awesome. As a student in a vet tech course I like seeing what goes on. Even the hard things that will help the little guys out.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!! 😄
Same I’m studying to be a vet assistant eventually a tech :)
What program are you in?
Please tell me about your course. I am from india
This was quite informative. I had no idea that meds can go in the eyelids. WOW!!! Thank you for sharing your day, I hope you can do more of these. Thank you to the people who gave permission to film.

This was a really neat reminder of a day at work! I'm a Vet assistant but I'm out on medical leave. Wonderful of you to share 💕 I do think the owners dogs should be on leashes, though. 💕
when I saw you had to get atleast a 98% on your final tests to be a vet, I was so happy to learn there was a way to work as a vet without the extreme brains! I am really hoping to do this career when I’m older! 💗
this is literally my dream, i adore animals and want to help them in the best way
I’m 11 and iv been really interested to becoming a vet when I’m older I’m good with all animals I study as much as possible even with the smallest pets like hamsters and guinea pigs ❤️

Me too! I’m 16 and I really want to be a vet so I’m working hard to achieve it! You can too! 👏🏼
Awesome! And it's worth mentioning that many places have no "exotic"/small animal vets, so they are really in demand! Best of luck!

Shout out to your supervisor!! Love the video!!
Was watching the video as I am a veterinary video binge and when you said the name of the clinic my mouth dropped! I am also from El Paso and i was a bit shocked to see a video from here. Very nice video on a life of a vet tech, my friend also took vet tech classes in high school so i thought it was interesting that he may did something similar to this !
This is an amazing video girl!
Awesome video! One of my dreams for the longest is to become a veterinarian! I just wanna make sure it’s the right thing for me before I continue with this passion
I am from Sweden and I’m studying to become a veterinary assistant, it’s a lot to do in school right now, and watching this video really helps me to stay motivated because this is my dream :))
Hi! I am a vet tech too! Thanks for putting this video out there.
It’s so cool to see how different hospitals work “behind the scenes.” For example, we have completely different blood machines and when I saw yours I was like 😳🤯
Poor (naughty) Dudley! I had no idea you could put apomorphine under the eyelid! Cool!!
Thanks for showing it’s not “all puppies and kittens.”
Omg I want to be a vet when I’m older and I’ve been binging as many videos and tips as I can and been studying my math and science and all my biology and things to get prepared!!!!
Bo really stole my heart 🥺
woah man! your hospital is beautiful!!! the outside looks just like mine, but the inside of yours looks so much more amazing! we're one of the busiest in the country and we take emergencies. so i get it!!
I loved this vlog style type of video! As a vet tech student, I feel like seeing a video on how to do things is much more informative than reading a textbook. I really like the informative side of this video and would like to see more! You're animal hospital looks like an amazing environment to work in with caring bosses and coworkers :)
Please tell me about your course
Bow, Boe, Bo? was the cutest such a good boy🥺❤️
You’re so lucky you guys have your own chem machine! We send ours to an outside lab which is pretty inconvenient honestly. More work for the tech but faster results.. seems worth it to me
I'm finishing my third year of high school,as a vet tech... can't wait to become a veterinarian 💖💖💖
i wasnt even sure what vet tech would look like but now that i know im so excited to finish school 🥰
BEYOND CRAZY i came across this video, and you're in EL PASO. I'm a military soldier stationed at Bliss, here in El Paso and I'm just now in the process of starting school to become a vet! i absolutely loved this video, and am definitely a new subscriber, and if at all possible I'd love to chat outside of here and see if maybe you could give me some tips with the whole being a vet thing and being here in ELP. Again so so glad i came upon this here video! God bless ya girl.
girl yesss this is the vet where we take our doggies 💘💘
I’m a veterinary nurse in the UK and it’s amazing to see how you guys do things , never seen apomorphine used in the eyelid before! Amazing!
Katie Ann Knight just thought the same, i‘m working in switzerland 😄
Omgggg we use cheese whiz to squirt on our exam tables as a distraction treat😂 the pups 🖤 it.
This was the most wholesome video🤧🥺🐶
I just got my license in December and i’m officially a C.V.T and all I can say is I LOVE MY JOB!🐶💕🥰
Yep I definitely want to be a vet
Ah watching this makes me miss being a vet tech!! I was one in small and large animal clinic for five years then I decided to be a stay at home mom!
Ahhh I went there to get my doggie spaid, great place to go!
Thank you for this video!🙌🏻😊
Thank YOU for watching! ☺
I feel like this is probably such a good job to do. I have 6 dogs myself. I always feel like animals are way better than humans. I’m still stuck whether I should go for it or not
Go for it! I’m a vet tech myself and it’s so worth it knowing I’m improving animals’ lives!
i love vet tech week bc endless food in the break room lol
That sounds amazing as I am a future vet 👩🏻⚕️ ❤️😊
Hello, I'm a vet too. Please go on such videos more. Seeing how some specific clinic or medicine related words are used in English, I was happy to learn while watching. Thanks ❤️
I love working in a Vet 💕
Awesome video!!!
Omg I LOVED this video💖 how does putting the crush morphine induce vomiting?
because i’m allergic i have to do nursing which i’m totally fine with! but if i wasn’t becoming a vet tech would be my career choice! loved this 😊
I was consulting on starting a Vet Tech course from my local college and now this video shows up in my recommended feed... We are being watched
Shout out from Cali I’m an RVT, nice to find this channel
Hi! I'm from El Paso, TX too! Also a Veterinary Technician ♡
I'm 50 years old. And just started my career as a Veterinary Technician. Or, I should say, started my career as a student learning to be a Vet Tech. I started school June 3rd.
Thanks for the insight into your clinic! I subscribed so I can keep up with your career.
I’m so happy this was in my recommendation! I want to become a vet too so watching this video was a lot of fun
if this is still your dream! follow me in my journey and If you have any questions just let me know!
Omg im so happy that i found your channel!! Im a vet tech for 13years, certified for 11years. I work at a 10 dr general practice with a full in house lab as well as well as many high tech machines. Its cool to see how other practices operate and their techniques and protocols!
Can I ask
Do u get paid well as a vet tech bc Im interested in becoming a vet tech
It depends. General practice is typically modest pay but if you get into an emergency or specialty/referal center or if you earn a specialty degree in an area (such as emergency/critical care, anesthesia or dentistry) pay is definitely better. But it all depends on what you like.
Cant wait till i can start my first step is being an MA for a year then being able to apply at vet clinics and start my vet assistant journey
I LITERALLY REIGNITED MY PASSION TO BE A VET TECH LIKE A WEEK AGO & THIS VIDEO POPS UP IN MY RECOMMENDED
This is it. This is my sign. I am 100% going to be a vet tech/vet nurse!
Ive applied for a vet nursing course that starts next year. Great video!
