I have both; Hilton Aspire and Marriott Brilliant,.. I love both cards. My preferred card out of two is the Marriott Brilliant (even with the additional $200 AF). Overall, Marriott has the best properties plus the best Hotel Lounges.

Do you find the Marriot status more useful than Hilton Diamond? Lately, I am questioning if I really get anything extra out of Diamond over Gold.

@@charliedurham4248 I think having Diamond Status is a pretty nice perk to have seeing that it is the top tier with Hilton, that being said, Gold Status is very similar in what benefits you get.
Platinum Elite Status with Marriot Bonvoy is good, but doesn't have quite as many benefits at Hilton Diamond status.
So I guess it depends on what benefits you know you will use with either card.

Id argue that. Plus The hilton card gives top status and even without the free night the card pays for itself with the credits

It’s amazing how many benefits these cards offer. Thank you for breaking it down for us.

Hi, and thank you for the informative video just to add 3 things to get extra points. 1 using Rakuten when booking the hotels via their web page. 2 Uber and Uber eats to get Marriott points. 3 Hilton Honors dining to get points at select dining locations. It's just like Pokemon you got to get them all! 😂😂😂

You are basically being paid $50 to hold the Aspire card plus a free night at any property. That's god tier, not even including all the other perks that come with it including the highest status.

One thing missed when comparing signup bonus. You said Marriott edges out but didn’t compute that you get the annual free night the same year with Aspire vs Marriott. That has to be taken into account as a minimum of 110k HH. You will always be a free night ahead.

Thank you for pointing that out.
I will make sure to do a follow up review that is more detailed.

Doing some comparisons. With regards to hotel-level status, Hilton Aspire wins out. With Hilton Aspire, you are automatically in the top-tier hotel status. With Marriot Brilliant, you are automatically in the middle-tier status, kind of an insult to injury in a way. Perhaps one is paying just to have a metal credit card in the Marriot Brilliant while the Hilton Aspire is not. I would figure if you are paying the highest annual fee for a particular brand/chain you should get the top-tier status.

Hmm. I am a Marriot Platinum member. I do not consider Platumum to be middle tier. I think when the dust settles, it's about the equivalent of Hilton's Diamond status.

Hilton also gives you a 5th night free. It does have to be a standard room redemption

Hello Daniel, Great video. I would like to add one thing that Hilton Aspire card also allows you to get a 5th night free while booking with the points. Great job, sir.

For the Hilton Aspire. Does the 7X points on restaurants apply to all restaurants including fast food? It does not involve going to a selected list of restaurants or having to book a restaurant reservation through the card's portal site?

    • @dannyshep
      @dannyshep  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Thanks for the questions!

To receive 7x points at restaurants it must be located within the US.
Then, it is not possible to receive points if the restaurant is located in either: nightclubs, convenience stores, grocery stores, or supermarkets.

Also the restaurant must not be located from within another establishment -for eg: Casino or hotel.
