    Just found your video, really nice explanation of process. Still happy with the ride? Secondly, I have a 2018 with the rear vibration. It seems like it is an amplifying movement on the rear. more weight eventually higher amplitude movement/vibration. Any dealings with this? Thinking about same front kit with progressive coils in the rear. Anything would be helpful.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 3 lety

      Thank you, I haven’t had an issue on my truck with this but you might start by rotating the tires. If the vibration moves location it is likely a wheel issue. Also, check any rotating assembly, play in driveshaft at the u-joint, out of balance drive shaft, bearings, inspect differential for any issues. You could absolutely get a better ride with progressive coils in the rear but you will lose about 25% capacity when towing. You can do air bags to help with squat which we just installed last week and will have a video in that soon. Im still happy with the ride this kit offers.

  • @03redrubi
    @03redrubi Před 4 lety +3

    Nice install. You getting any wobble in that front end yet? I would suggest a steering box brace, about $135 from Rough Country. Really tightens things up, and boxes in the front frame rails.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 4 lety +1

      03redrubi no wobble, might be doing some 7500 airbags for the rear, and some thuren fab stuff in the future. New clutch will be goin in soon and a video on it. Those braces do help tighten things up.

Bilstein mfg. wont commit that your same kit fits my 2019 truck,. I don't do much off roading and Bilstein lifts is trying to sell me the remote res, model 5160's on all 4 corners saying they will fit. • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 4 lety

      sean otoole I don’t but I’d be willing to bet it does as most the suspension components are unchanged to my knowledge. Best thing to do is look at a 19 suspension verse an 18. Axles should be same and springs. Shocks shouldnt be any different either the way they mount

      @@MKSPerformanceOffroad Thanks for your quick reply! I will take a look, my son has same truck but 2017 model. Im going to use my 35x 11.50x 20 (factory rim) nitto grapplers. • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 4 lety

      sean otoole 17 will be the same as 18, if your only going for a level, no more than 2.75” the adjustable track bar doesn’t give you a huge gain if any in my opinion because it really just helps re-align the axle laterally under the truck when it moves through its travel arc. Mine might be off 3/16” or less on one side or another but its very minimal and hardly noticeable. If your ocd like me, check out thuren fab or carli suspension, they make top notch products and are proven. 3” or more you will want the adj. track bar to re-center your axle. Take a good look at the springs, rubber isolators and shock mounts. If they are the same the kit will work and ext. reservoirs serve little purpose on road but offroad are intended to help dissipate heat.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 2 lety +1

      I did not order an updated track bar, only had the drag link replaced by dealer with new design. If you go higher than 3” I would recommend just to get your axle back to center. Thuren has a great website that explains this and would point you in that direction. Several good options out there from Thuren, Synergy, and a few others. I have been able to align the truck just fine with it leveled.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Před 4 lety +3

      Jeff Bennett Coming from a 2014 with coil spacers, these ride much better, not sure how much better than Thuren. I’ll have to do a comparison, reason I bought these was the price and the fact that I didn’t want to spend $2,000 on a level with shocks. I think it honestly rides better than stock for what it is. If you want that soft ride you have to be willing to sacrifice something. If you go with any coils for the rear you get a softer ride but less tow capacity and then it comes to, what do you plan to do with your truck? Sorry for the long reply.

Slow speed sharp bumps were about the same. Switched to 35s on 18” wheels and run about 45 psi and ride is way better all around.

      The 5100s are a bit firmer as expected but necessary for what I wanted out of them for the slight level/lift. If you want a softer ride than I would install shock extension brackets on the 4600 or go with a different shock. I have 35” tires so they work well with the components I installed.
