Just replaced my factory TB (78k miles) with the Thuren TB on my 2015 2500 today. Man what a difference it made tightening up the steering. I do have a steering box brace and dual steering stabilizers and this still made a significant difference. I’m getting a little slop in my ball joints as well so just ordered the EMF’s. Not really looking forward to that job lol. Thanks for the video! 🤝
Great video, just got done doing this to my 2016 6.7, the track bar is what fixed my vibration in the steering wheel. Now my steering box stabilizer will be here this week then I’m getting an alignment and it should feel like a new truck. Thank you for all the videos it’s been a huge help!
You definitely do want to replace the steering crossover. You'll see a huge difference, no sloppy steering or over steering. Kevin@re-fab fabricates really nice ones.
Actually, the 2nd upgrade I did on my '13 PW, right after the DOR steering brace. I agree completely with your assessment. Didn't notice much difference, but have the piece of mind that it is more robust and centered. I noticed more difference w the King/Thuren tuned stabilizer, as you did. Next up are Carli ball joints.
John FitzGerald Yeah absolutely John. Very happy with the suspension in the front. I’ll do sway bar for the rear before I do the front though. I’m happy with the peace of mind of having decent geometry intact.
Nice. Just remember after you loosen the drag link jam nuts to adjust your steering wheel, you need to put some blue loctite and try to torque it to the required spec. There is a TSB on that for the jam nut backing off and if it does and you don't catch and correct it. the two piece could separate and then you would be in a world of shit if driving.
@@MotorHead18 after torquing nuts I like to take a paint pen and make a mark on the nut and whatever the nut is tight against. That way you can just look at it from time to time to see if it has backed off. If the two corresponding lines still align then it hasn’t lost its torque spec.
Any one have death wobble ? I have 4 inch pro comp lift and I’m getting death wobble and installed steering box stabilizer kit which helped to calm it down
@@MotorHead18 Ok, cool. I already got the stabilizer brace based on your recommendation. Ill also get the steering damper. Thanks and thank you for your service.
Would I have to do anything special or lengthen the Thuren track bar after it has already been preset from factory I have a 2013 2500 with 100,000 miles with the stock track bar and a 2” leveling kit that was on it when I bought the truck and I don’t know the brand
I'm about to put a 2.5inch level kit on my 14 ram 2500 6.7 and after reading I need an adjustable track bar now but... although I did to the drag link recal:( will have problems??
What lift brand do you have? I have rough country and wondering if it's okay to mix match that Theron track bar with my rough country lift? I would assume it's good to stick to all one brand but budget doesn't agree right now lol and also have little shake around 75 80 that's still there after front end rebuilt. Hoping that thuran bar will help it
Hey bro, on your thuren track bar do you notice any side to side play on the drivers side right where the bolt is? Just had a new Thuren track bar installed and when the steering is turned slightly left or right there’s a thud/pop and after climbing under to watch the when the wheels turn the coil deflects and the track bar at that bolt has play. Trying to figure out the issue..
After your level, did you truck track to the right? Did this cure it? I just bought this same track bar and Bilstein steering stabilizer after my level.
@@MotorHead18 thank you very much for the quick reply! I'm an idiot and dremmaled out the hole on the drive side to install the bolt...so now I have to weld it and redrill the hole ..
Milo M Not always needed, although depends on how much geometry is altered with sizes of leveling kits. If the dealer welds the drag link nuts, I don’t think we will be able to adjust it. Although there has to be another way?
Hey man do you have any bad vibrations at 70mph+??? I have rebalanced my driveshaft , added the steering box stabilizer, do you think this could be my solution?? According to Thurens website this is the best place to start

Be sure you have quality tires and take them to a good tire shop for balancing. A friend got some Mickey Thompsons and no amount of weight could balance them. He added Centramatics and they are smooth as glass.
@@MotorHead18 have you had any issues with the transmission? I have the same exact truck and like 2 months into after I rolled off the dealer lot the trans would shift into 4th on it's own while driving on the highway but only while driving on the highway for some reason. Currently in arbitration with Chrysler after getting the runaround from the dealer

Don’t forget to add blue-loctite onto the drag link before tightening down the nuts!

I just installed this last week on my '14, great product, so far zero complaints.

Myron Benally No problem Myron! You will definitely appreciate the new suspension upgrades.
Myron Benally how do you like your parts so far?
I did this and mine pulls to the right. Been to alignment shop multiple times with no help. Wore a new set of front tires out in 12k miles.
You need to find another specialized alignment shop.

Thank you for the great video. My level kit is on the way and I'm changing the track bar also. Very informative.

Texas. Hell ya! My 2015 RAM 3500 has a welded track bar. Fix I’m assuming. I think I need to address this.
Yeah look into that. Less play in the track bar the better though

The steering stabilizer helps. Have you assessed all suspension parts for wear and tear?
Nice truck, I have a 2018 power wagon and I am wanting to upgrade with the Thuren components. Out of stock, but I will get it
Only a matter of time, I would order ASAP! Definitely a great ride
Hey Marc, Have you had any luck getting a steering gear box brace for the powerwagon? I haven't been able to find one anywhere. Thanks
Did you get bigger bolts to accommodate for the Heim joint size/play?
Of all your mods, which is the most beneficial for tightening the steering (or combination of mods). I like a very tight steering.
P4UL Mods that you will notice a difference in tight steering that you would want would be the steering gear box stabilizer and steering damper.

So I shouldn’t have to do anything special with it? It should just be plug and play?
good to see how much off centre the truck is after a 2” lift. or was it ? 😂.
2" Leveling kit from thuren, yup!

Is it possible to adjust the steering after the drag link recall? Is adjusting the steering wheel always needed?
Milo M Not always needed, although depends on how much geometry is altered with sizes of leveling kits. If the dealer welds the drag link nuts, I don’t think we will be able to adjust it. Although there has to be another way?
Na you have to break the welds and adjust and then basically go back for them to reweld it

Just put lock tight on it.
