So, do you regret reading it? I found it quite helpful...much better than Gabor's books.

@@robynhope219 i did not read much of the book and am scared to try reading more because i get triggered.
can you tell me the difference you found in the 2 authors and what is the main thing you found helpful?
i have been living with PTSD from much childhood trauma for 60 years and have tried everything available to ease the struggle it causes me without much success.
thank you for commenting i forgot the book altogether. perhaps i can give it another try.

@@DS-nv8bi Gabor Mate doesn't fix anything, he just talks around it, raising awareness. Bessel van der Kolk's The Body Keeps The Score has many helpful suggestions, whereas Mate's book the Myth is a critique of an abnormal society. It is not a self-help book. If THE BODY triggers you, perhaps you need a trauma informed expert. I hope you find what you need, but I definitely think you should read The Body Keeps The Score again.

@@robynhope219 the myth book did help me to realize that my parents and all my brothers and sister have PTSD which has in turn helped me understand my family. I will take a look at The Body keeps the score again.
      thank you.
