  • A backsplash is a great low risk way to get your hands dirty trying tile work for the first time. Unlike a bathroom where waterproofing is imperative, this is low stakes and good for practice!

Nicely done. I would suggest using a mastic like Ardex D14 for a virtually unlimited pot life and ease of use. It's perfect for backsplashes with a tile size of 8"x 8" or less.

Good to know! I live in a small town so I have super limited access to products. But I like to know the good stuff for when I have more complicated or difficult projects. When I have those, I can plan ahead and I'll go to Utah to buy some better stuff in advance :)

That looks amazing. The tile snap tool looks so simple to use. Thank you for the demonstration. Your videos are very well done. Keep up the great work.

Thank you! I like the score and snap when I can use it because its way less mess and its much lighter to carry to the job site than my wet saw is! Its also a much more affordable tool.

A tile backsplash is one of the best value add for the money. I do one in every rental I buy because the cost is low and the impact is high. Nice work. (Premix mastic is what I use too, just so much easier and better than mixing your own thinset)

You're right- its an easy way to pack a punch! Also makes it look less "flippy" and generic and more homey in my opinion.
