I am 25 and fasting from today for the first time. I was struggling with anxiety and rejection. Two weeks ago, I cried my heart out and asked God to hold my hand,,the next day my heart felt lighter, my anxiety was gone. I feel more closer with God now so, I decided to fast which I have wanted to do for a very long time. Praise Lord! Something changed in my life.

YES - IMHO - Fasting can also be an attitude that says where ever that I find myself - that God allowed it and that I can be thankful that God is in Complete Control and All of the MANY Ways that God is going to MANIFEST His Resurrected Glory in and through this in and through me as He did in and through His Son Christ Jesus
I believe in fasting. It is definitely terrible if you have the wrong mind set for sure. But it does work with prayer of course. I fasted one time for 10 days. The first 3 days were the toughest but God sustained me and at the end He healed me of an eye issue, blood sugar issues and a back injury. It's a challenge at times but it can definitely pay off.

@@stevenlawson9460 if u just started, you can do fasting and prayer without any solid food but u can take water.. u can do mwf. of 3x a week. then next second week try to do every day. and try to do without any solid or without any food.. and then you can do it normally.. but if ur taking medicine u can take it with water
Fasting should never be seen as a heavy burden! Fasting brings Deliverance, Healing, Repentance, Salvation, Cleansing etc

Fasting is done to get closer to God. The closer we are to him the better we can understand him.

Are you against fasting? Jesus fasted. Jesus addressed fasting (Luke 5:35 & Mark 9:29).
It is said that fasting is most likely the least observed spiritual discipline. I have found that some people don't fast (1) because they don't want to and (2) haven't experienced breakthrough, etc resulting from a fast.

I once suffered from a terrible case of Type 2 Diabetes. I fasted several days every week and prayed to God for help with my condition. Now, I don't suffer from T2D. I still fast 2 days a week to give thanks.

When I fast and my stomach starts hunger paining I tell my flesh " good, suffer and I hope it hurts". I know it sounds crazy but I let my flesh know that it has no power over the spirit.
Sorry but you are gravely mistaken, your Body is not the same as your flesh. The flesh is a term used in scripture to describe the sinful nature of man. Like lust for example. Lack of food doesn't hurt your lust (that is your flesh) it only hurts your body.
Fasting is a sacrifice to God. It demonstrates to God how badly we want something. It says to God, I need this answer more than I need food. And God loves and honours sacrifices that are pure.

Today is my first day fasting. Felt amazing praying for healing. Didn't even notice I was praying for more then 20 minutes. Let the holy spirit rush through me.
Fasting and praying works for me. I fasted for 5 days. God has done wondrous things in my life within the 5 days. Although the temptation is overwhelming, Stand firm and Keep on Fasting and praying.

When the church I attended went on a fast for 21days, I looked forward to going on it, as it was my first time. I went on a partial fast of fruits n veges, I abstained from meat, bread n sweets. I heard the Holy Spirit say to me before I started, that when ever I felt hungry to drink water. It worked. I even stretched the fast to 40 days, All glory to the king of kings amen n amen 💜👍😄🙏 it really advanced my prayer life, I felt closer to God's presence, I am more sensitive to Him now more than ever now and loving it.🦁🔥🌈🕊️👑♥️

Amen, please pray for me. I've followed God these past 40 years, from evangelism, intercession, etc but except standing on the pulpit and preach. People call me Pastor but I do not know how to preach. At 40 with no children and not married. In an African culture thats 'unmanly'. I became poorer and poorer over the years I've remained in God (I'm talking about world definition of poverty ) but in me I feel God's presence but there are times when I feel weak. I'm on my 6th day of 40 of prayer and I feel like asking for all the intercessors out there to pray for me not to miss the Voice of God but most importantly, for God to give the Grace to follow Him according to His perfect will.

Just finished a 43 hour fast. What a burst of energy I received I feel great! My next goal is 72hours
I was fasting today, and I had a really hard time, such pressure inside to go get food. And so I prayed and asked God to help me move through it, and suddenly I felt the back of my neck release--- then I felt relieved, no pressure, no desire for food. I feel blessed that I was heard. PRAISE GOD
Crazy how I've been thinking about fasting and knowing my wife needs prayer for her medical condition as well as my youngest son needs prayer for salvation and that's exactly what this gentleman touched on.
Just a teensy note it has been PROVED that prayer makes the chances of recovery a LOT less !

Thanks God that my first fast was smooth, I didn’t have any problems. The only thing is I got attacked in the spiritual realm when I was sleeping, but that is bound to happen cause you know the enemy doesn’t want you tapping into something powerful that will destroy him. Praise Jesus!
Same thing happened to me during my fast while I was sleeping!

A lot of people think it is crazy to fast for several days. I know my family would say I'm crazy because they think it's not healthy 🙈
@@wetdroidedition2549 it felt good Bro. I noticed changes around me. Peoples reactions were different. But it got to a time I started praying less and less expecially on my very busy days. Due to that I got weakened again. If you must fast let your prayer life not dwindle else the devil would penetrate that angle. I would suggest you start small like maybe 6 in the morning to 12 or 2 in the afternoon with prayers and worship with the word
Fasting and prayer work hand in hand with each other. You cannot fast without praying - otherwise you will simply be on a hunger strike. The point of fasting is to sacrifice earthly needs in order to focus more on communing with God. Prayer is how we commune with God during this time of fellowship. It is in these times we can receive visions, revelations of God’s word, and a refreshed assurance in the goodness of God.
I think that fasting has many purposes for yourself and your relationship to God:
1. You will get to know yourself better, you can know that you are able to live with less than you think you need. Because of this you become more thankful towards God because you know how blessed you really are. (--> Love your God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength)
2. You will get a new perspective towards poor people who cannot afford enough food. You start to have more compassion which causes your love for those who are in need to grow, knowing that this state of not being able to eat which you voluntarily participate in, is a state which they are forced to live in, unless you help them get some food. (--> Love your neighbor as yourself)
3. If you know that you don't need nearly as much as you think you need, you can give more freely, because you can know that you will not come into need so easily. (--> Trust God and love your neighbor)
4. If you know that you don't need as much as you think you need and you can survive with much less, you can be more sincere with your faith and defend it better because you know that you are able to endure persecution and suffering for your love of God.

"Pray when it hurts" I LOVE IT!!! Would spiritual fasting then be denying our self pleasures and seeking God instead? It REALLY all boils down to self crucifixion and letting Christ CONSUME us. Jesus woke His disciples and told them to pray that they enter not into temptation. So we could deny sleep even if for one hour to pray. And to the single and celibate, I think that is a great opportunity to have a strengthening of prayer life. All part of denying ourselves, taking up our cross and following Jesus. Even selling our possessions and giving to the poor applies as well. It is good to have one focus and one goal. Heaven is our home and that's where our treasure and heart is. God bless.

I have tried to fast at least twice now with limited success; usually giving in within four days. In all honesty, I have not had much support for most of my spiritual walk. I lost my sense of taste and smell from COVID, and as a result had very little appetite to eat anything aside from the bare minimum to keep my body moving. I don't have idea how do people fast in different parts of the world.
But Out in here Nagaland, there are two ways of fasting.
1. Clean fasting i.e, without taking any food or water. (Usually 3 days)
2. Half day fasting. (i.e,till 12 noon time) .
Number of days for fasting were given by the prayer warriors through Prophecy reveal to them by God.

When we fast, we fast to be filled by the Lord’s Holy Spirit and to get closer to the Lord through His Son Jesus Christ! Fasting also empties you of yourself. The Holy Spirit intercedes for you so that you may have the fullness of Christ. And also deliverance comes and demonic strongholds are broken. Answers to prayers are answered according to God’s will and He says that we should never cease to pray! In all things with supplications and petitions make your requests known to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. And it must be done with a sincere heart which the Lord desires that He may mold us more into the image of His son. He is faithful and wonderful and beautiful in all His ways!!! I fast two months once all my prayers answered.... fasting is great..

But I most say whenever I fast i don't feel hunger as I always pray to the holy spirit to lead me in my fasting I am suffering from high blood pressure but that is never and hindrance when I mean to go to the Lord in fasting. Demons cling to the our bodies and remain there until we either cast them off in the name of Jesus or in many cases to starve them out through fasting! Yes that's right, starve out pain demons, demons of infirmities, demons from medications. Clean your body Holy through this action- give them NOTHING to hold on to you. Demons enter in to our lives through many doors and always the door of sin- fast, pray and they will flee.

It should also be done in complete privacy, no one should know but you and the Triune God. (Matthew 6) It can be done as a group, but privately as a group. If done in this way, our motives will be pure.
Our church is doing a fast but I was never told why we fast or how to fast. This video was very helpful to me. Thank you!
I want to add that after two days (depending on what your diet is before the fast) the hormone that controls the waves of hunger completely dissipates. Also, focus and energy go through the roof.
What this means is, the hunger pains won't be there in a longer fast -and- you will have more mental clarity and more time to pray. People who do prolonged fasts often say that by the third day they have so much energy that they don't need to sleep nearly as much and they feel like they could work our for hours. Perhaps longer fasts have the benefit of giving us amazing laser focus and the energy to put into praying that we don't usually have when we eat on a regular basis.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made!
There is something to do with spirit. Fasting is like giving more focus to spirit than normaly/idealy balanced spirit and body.

I've walked the way of the cross for many years and have had much time of fasting but have never had the revelation that this teaching has brought. May we continue to ask "what is the "GOD" centered spiritual purpose" for fasting that we might not go astray into physical works expecting spiritual breakthroughs. Thank you sir, for this amazing teaching. I'm so grateful that His word remains timeless.
