    Hey! We’re Chris and Jessie and we’re making the best of this life by living out of our self converted Promaster Van. We have a passion for wellness, music, craft beer, and are dedicated to not taking ourselves too seriously. Our goal is to visit all 50 states, 62 National parks, countless breweries, and share our adventures with you!
    One day, shortly after we started dating, Jessie mentioned she had the bucket list item to live in a van for a summer. Chris thought this idea was absolutely crazy at first, but after a little more thought and research, decided living in a van would be exactly the kind of excitement he would enjoy. We both love seeing new places, spending time outdoors, and don’t need a whole lot of physical things to be happy. In January 2019, after just 8 months of dating, we purchased our 2019 Ram Promaster and began converting it into our future tiny home. One year later, we finished the build and hit the road!
    We’re excited to see where the road takes us and to share our adventures with you! Big thanks to all of you who have supported us and encouraged us to live out our #vanlife dream!

    I appreciate the video and it got the wheels turning. The idea of having the tank outside is very appealing on many levels. Do you have a way to turn off propane at the tank short of crawling under the van? Is that needed?

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately that was the only way for us. However, you could install a solenoid, which would remotely open and close the propane from the inside. It's certainly a good idea for added safety, it just costs more and take more time to install!

    Thanks so much for the video. My girlfriend and I have a 2500 159"WB. Do you know if the propane tank you used would fit between the rear axle and the spare tire (like yours) on the non-extended model?

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety

      I think that the spare tire is in the same place on the non extended version , so you probably could, but I would certainly try to measure if possible because i'm not totally sure. You definitely have to shrink the brackets on either, though. Worse case you could move the spare tire to a rear carrier on the back door!

    IF I understand this correctly you have made your propane tank your suspension limiter ? I am curious if it has caused issues

    I’m late to the game here but I have a tank that is under mounted onto a van as well but am finding no one who is willing to purge it. I know filling it up isn’t much of an issue with uhauls offering the service but any suggestions on places that will purge it?

    • @nmartin5551
      @nmartin5551 Před 2 měsíci

      There is a remote fill device (or used to be) for accessing the tank. I hope you found a place.

    I know you're building your bus now, but could I have an estimate of what the cost of this van build was? I plan on buying the van new, but would like to know what it would cost to do a build like this. Thank you!

    How do you refill this and have you had any issues with filling it?

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey! You can go anywhere that has propane like Uhaul or truck stops and they will fill it up for you. No issues at all - super easy!

      @@AcrovanAdventures sweet was just wondering how the would get under there to do it. Did it ever come close to hitting the ground. Also, congrats on your bus that’s super cool!

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! We installed a remote fill so you don't have to crawl under the van. It sticks out to the side of the van to make it easy :) And no, no issues with ground clearance at all!

  • @Wildsunchild
    @Wildsunchild Před 2 lety +1

    Could you do an overview of the cost of your vanbuild?

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety

      Yes! It's on our list. We'll probably film/release it in another month or so. :)

  • @davidse4486

    The most serious issue here is if you get a flat you have to be certain the tank won’t touch the ground.

  • @LifeWithRilla
    @LifeWithRilla Před 2 lety

    Did you ever lift the van after this?

    • @AcrovanAdventures
      @AcrovanAdventures  Před 2 lety

      We did get some oil changes and other service work and the shop put it on a lift, yes! If you’re asking about the suspension in the vehicle, we kept the stock springs and suspension

      @@AcrovanAdventures Have you guys ever bumped the propane at all? I'm going to get my promaster lifted out of concern for the things I'm going to put under the van. But. I wonder if that is over kill or not.
