- (📹 6/28/2024) These are the garage elevators for the Costco in Arlington VA. These are absolutely colossal at 18,700 lbs (8480 kgs), making these the largest traction elevators I've been on. These even need two door operators to move both panels telling by how wide the doors are. These also run on EcoDisc machines and are on 4:1 roping.

This elevator really contrasts with the size of the elevators at Costco in Norwalk, CT
Nice, these were MASSIVE
I have a feeling that these elevators use the MX100 motor, because of the capacity and how fast they go, which i believe is 1-1.5 m/s, correct me if i'm wrong.
Imagine if these were 7 floor hydros this big.. probably need 2 DT-221-TALL power units and 4 100HP motors. This is definitely more efficient, but not as cool as if it were hydraulic.
That would be insane
I wonder what they’d need an elevator this big for?
to haul lots of shoppers back to their cars with all the stuff they bought
you can't go into costco and leave empty handed
