Alzheimer's, making decisions can be hard. Sometimes you just have to laugh

- Sometimes when you have Alzheimer's/dementias making a decision can be difficult. My dad was trying to pick out the
ice cream he wanted to eat and the conversation quickly turned into a "who's on first" about flavors. I loved that we were able to laugh in the middle of all the craziness!

He wanted everyone else to have some before him, and he didn't care what was left. True mark of a generous person. Seems like such a lovely guy.
beechface1 Thank you for the lovely message. My dad was always generous and concerned with others, even when he had dimentia.
Such a kind man, wanting to let everyone else have some before him, made me smile. I'm very sorry for your lost.
Big Boss Thank you for your lovely message 🙄
@@PaintingToRemember I know you probably didn't mean to add that eyeroll emoji, but it made your comment sound sarcastic.
The love was still in his heart. Even if he didnt remember his grandsons name he wanted him to have the icecream. Thats warming.
Binge watching all of these videos, and every second becoming more and more grateful. Thank you and may your loving father rest in peace now. I guess you could say he actually is in peace now and will be up there with your sister, and will have the memory of an elephant (they remember everything) Much love from a new subscriber!
Hilarious!! You don't laugh at them, you laugh with them!
You are the most loving person I found on CZcams. I am so touched by the way you took Care of your father! You are such An amazing person! Thank you sharing those moments with us!

Thank you! My dad was a sweet man :)
This touched my heart so much. Many many tears. I've been watching your videos for the passed half hour & I can't stop crying on how we lost such a great person in this world! It's amazing how kind hearted of a person he is wanting everyone to get their ice cream first before he gets his. But Norm is in a much better place where he could remember all the great times y'all had every day, looking down at you with such a big smile. From the booth of my heart he will be missed. I'm sorry for your lost. With much love,
Sincerely, Alyssa
This melted my heart. Thank you soooooooo much for sharing.
slockett59 Thank you for the lovely comment :)
I seriously love your dad brings me so much happiness to watch his videos ❤️ May God bless him always !
Such a sweet man!!!
Awe...your dad reminds me of my sweet father-in-law. They even look similar. Ralph had Alzheimer's and I was his caretaker until he passed. My husband was diagnosed with the same disease 4 years ago at age 64.
This family has been through so much with the Alzheimer's and with the 1979 event, so glad there is still some humor left.
This is such a BEAUTIFUL video!
Blowing kisses above to Norm xo
Thank you for sharing you and your dad's experiences. I'm watching the videos and learning. I hope to share ideas with my father's caregiver/s. I live across the country from him and can't be there except for visits. It's hard to be so far away. I wish I could be there for my dad like you were with your dad. It is obvious how much you love and respect him. Everyone should have such dignity and compassionate care as that which you have your dad. RIP Norm. You did a great work, Daughter.
Watching now, I worked in In Home care. I loved it.

oh noo! did he pass away? when?!
Nellysa Chavez Yes unfortunately my dad passed away during the end of February 2016. One of my father's greatest pleasure throughout his entire life was helping others. When he first got diagnosed with Alzheimer's I asked him if it would be okay with him if I shared our story. He asked me why I would want to do so and I explained to him that I thought our story could help others who unfortunately are also forced to deal with this brutally difficult disease. His response was if I truly believed it would help even just one person then yes go ahead and share our story. Even though my dad passed away in February of 2016 I still feel very passionate about how devastating this disease is along for those afflicted with it. I also feel very passionate about the plight of the millions of caregivers who are struggling on a daily basis to try to provide care for their loved ones with little to no help or support. I still continue to post our videos (and advocate) because I receive so many messages daily from people all over the world telling me how much our videos have helped them. I'm sure my dad is looking down from heaven pleased to know that his struggle with Alzheimer's wasn't in vain and he still continues to help others 💜
Painting To Remember I'm so sorry for your loss...I recently saw your videos. I fell in love with it.you're a remarkable woman bless you.
