This machine reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode "The Fever" (I believe it was called)- I believe Watling made that particular machine too, because I distinctly remember that "W" symbol on that slot machine. That was such a good episode- but then again, all of em are. I'm a fan of old slots.

Speaking of that machine, I got a hold of a Rol-a-top and recreated the Twilight Zone machine; czcams.com/users/shortsOri3oI4RDbM

The exact same slot machine from "The Twilight Zone" episode "The Fever" when mr Franklin Gibbs was addicted to playing the machine until he discovers that the machine is after more than just his money it's a great episode about the dangers of gambling

Nice Peace of Machinery - with that said - do merry comments:symbols not aligned on centerline - 6-7 mm offset.Clock timer is pretty noisy compared to eg. Mills and jennings.Reels is not running smoothly - they stop before the breaks is activated.

What?#$%@$ 50 cent denomination was indeed the highest denomination model made and the $1 machine featured on the Twilight Zone episode was either from the 5th Dimension, or was modified by the prop tech guys from the TZ show.

What would it cost for somebody to restore this machine if it was a total basket case? Water damage etc?

Hi Barry. Would need to see photos to give an estimate. It’s really about 2 main elements - the inner mech and the outer case/castings. Feel free to contact me to share photos and we can discuss.

@@AwesomeCoinOp Are restored machines even worth more then not restored? Doesn't it depend if people want to play it or for a collection? I have seen unrestored machines go for more then restored...

@@niels1491 Most collectors will prefer an unrestored machine but it comes down to personal preference. Not all original machines were cared for so that they would look good for a collector (remember: these were commodity machines made for the sole intention of making money!). I've had a number of machines that were borderline for restoration since the original finish was very worn and the machine was considered by many to be in need of sprucing up...

Did the math, you put in 11 half dollars, which is $5.50, and you won 18 half dollars ($9), which means that you ended up with a net gain of $3.50!
