- Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! Welcome back for season 2 Yellowjackets fans! Today we are talking about easter egg's, theories, secrets and what's to come on Yellowjackets Season 2! It ALL happened on Yellowjackets Season 2 this week and we finally got to see what we've been waiting for since the first scene of the first episode! Episode 202 Edible Complex is wild from beginning to end!. We picked up with our core four - Shauna, Nat, Tai, Misty - and we also now have adult Lottie in the mix plus a flashback to adult Travis! Plenty of crazy stuff going on in the adult timeline, but there's exciting stuff in the 1990's timeline too, including a new 90's timeline, 1998 emerging, exciting and mysterious! With the death of Jackie, how will the group fair in their first winter in the wilderness without their team captain? I'm very excited my theory that we would see a third timeline emerge proved to be right, so what other theories will we come up with this season?! My prediction is that Shauna is the actual antler queen because she was first to imbibe and Lottie is to obvious a choice 🤷🏻♀️
Misty was at the Class Reunion that Randy also attended. Zero chance he wouldn't recognize her.
Definitely with you on the mine theory. Additional evidence would be the red colored water Tai's group came across before the wolf attack and the place Lottie see's in her baptism vision appear to be an underground pump station. Perhaps the mossy tree is near the entrance (Could Javi have found it?)
1. Lottie's story about Travis doesn't make sense bc the crime scene photos showed the symbol was in his home on his floors and Lottie didn't talk about doing any ceremony in his house. If he only meant to choke himself out then people do that at home in their own closets for other reasons all of the time w/o a crane. Since he was only going to choke himself out and then be put back down, he wouldn't leave his bank info because he wouldn't expect to die. Lottie always said it wanted blood and omitted how Laurie Lee came back to her in ghost form, but very sick and then turned to ash screaming. Travis could have been a sacrifice for Lottie to have a vision. Her purple troop could have helped.
2. If all those necklaces are made of gold, I mean real gold, the potential mine shaft or the fact the previous man who lived in the cabin be a prospector is a possibility. This along with the minerals in the water or what Lottie called the Blood River which was simply a river that has an immense amount of iron. It threw off any compasses and the would include in a plane and would make it hard for a search party to find them or the previous man who made the cabin as they would have used a compass and been led in circles. However if Lottie bought the property then she would own a gold mine and be able to open a wellness retreat, make her necklaces, maybe Travis helped and that's why his bank accounts were emptied. Hard to buy stuff from a psych ward.
3. Tai - I think she has some type of personality split like DID - multiple personality disorder - type issues and this can happen from severe trauma and I can't think of anything more traumatic than living through the plane crash only to end up eating your friend. We got glimpses of it coming all season one, but didn't know what it meant from the woman in the tree eating dirt who came at night and her son saying it was another person to the sacrificial room in the basement to the other one where she likely painted the message on her house and then used it for her campaign. It's not just her eyes, but she has this evil smile as well. She also marks up her girlfriends hand with the symbol and I would assume the bad one is in charge.
4. I think not only does Elijah Wood's character have a really good feel on Misty, but if you pause the screen in the discussion group it shows a shat about a string of other poisonings and Misty would be the one who has been the one to poison people. He tracked her down, made up a reason to go to her work, found her lunch and left a note only she could read if she figured out how. He puts the "sic" in forensics. . . . .like Dexter???
5. Nat - I think Nat can play the game to get out of rehab 5x and fool psychologists and never tell what really happened out there so I believe she may come to a decision where she will "play the game" with Lottie to gather as much info as she can on her cult and on Travis's death. Her seeing her own brush with death may have been because Lottie brought it up and due to the place she is in. Talk about a place to trigger your PTSD!!! She had a flashback.
6. As far as mines and the river being red as I said. It throwing off compasses for search parties, etc. The common phrase is "Iron leads to copper and gold". Normally these are in the same mine and have been created or formed around the same time by geothermal pressures and the rocks and soils in the area. The stream was filled with so much iron it was red and turned compasses completely off course which means a LOT of iron. Methane is from mining coal and a small single man or even two would not go out into the wilderness to mine coal as that is not something you could take back in a plane and all of the hints given, including the compass being extremely off indicate an extremely large iron deposit to the point it makes the stream run red with iron and other elements like bromine. Methane is really from coal mines however and the clues in the show clearly point to a significant amount of Iron Ore and likely "Gold in dem Hills". However for the wildlife drinking from such a stream, Iron Toxicity and any other elements in the water is very much a thing.
Birds are exceptionally sensitive to their environments so bird die offs can be from exceptionally harsh winters with starvation to much colder winter temps than normal to diseases in the food/water supply or simply diseases as avian diseases are normally highly transmissible. The list is endless of natural reasons and some bird die offs we still have no explanation for. It's the actual reason we used to use birds in mines, otherwise we would send people down with rats and other small animals in cages if size was the only concern. Birds tells us more than the weatherman, when they stop singing and go in early it means a storm is coming and you should listen. When they are out happy and peeping and flying around it means it will be a good day with sunshine out. If there is a die off it could be that this is simply a horrible winter the girls are up there and this info is shared as being "the worst winter in 50 years" when we see some scenes from when they are rescued.

@@ed8329 Found a chair, foot stool, or a table, but yes, anything to keep him alive. She likes sharp things so maybe giving him a knife to cut the webbing. I agree that someone could stand on my shoulders or anything until help arrived. However, it would mean she would actually b calling for help and I don't think she would get PD involved as their were the candles and any regular officer would look around like "Were you guys doing some "wicca crap"?" and Lottie would potentially get in trouble. . . . you know, unless her story is absolute BS and she wanted him to die and that's why his bank account numbers were written out. . . .
S2 E1 The first time adult Nat sees adult Lottie (about 59 mins) Nat holds up the stick and yells "Mari"....

Any thoughts about Coach and how he reacted to the girls having a Jackie snack .
What I took from that scene is based on his reaction. He didn't have a look of disgust . That would be anyone's natural reaction. I saw a look of fear.
These girls now have that taste of flesh. Jackie is not a very big girl, so she's not gonna last long.
Let's face it, Coach is scared. He's crippled so he's not able to contribute with their daily needs. He could very easily become their next meal. Is he ever mentioned in the present day time-line ? I don't recall anything.
Thats my thoughts. He's scared for his life after episode *2. Any other ideas ? Or is this one just too easy to predict ?
He is never mentioned. We never hear of him being rescued. He is never brought up other than in the time period when they are in the woods. Don't see him boarding the plane. Don't hear about him needing immediate medical attention when the rescue teams find the downed plane, nothing. The girls in present day don't speak of him either and I worry that he sealed his fate at Doomscoming w/o knowing it when he told Misty he was gay and he didn't want to be with her. He lost Misty as a cunning ally in this game of life and death as she does morally questionable things for those she cares about.

Yellow Jackets kills bees and eat them, including raiding the hive for larvae, pollen, and honey. Just saying. Maybe Lottie is raiding some honey pots or bank accounts to fund her wellness center.

I think Nat’s vision is to show you that she has also had a “died for a minute” experience like Van and Lottie. Since Lottie was telling her about what Travis said, it was at the front of her mind and brought up the memory of her own experience. That’s what I took from that anyway 🤷♀️

My notes:
-When Misty tells Walter "She's hiding something", I think she's referring to Shauna. Shauna lied to the girls when she told them that Javi was the blackmailer. If it is indeed Randy that her and Walter brace, that would lead them to Jeff and Shauna.
-Lottie doping people: When Nat enters her cabin after their conversation and throws the dumb heliotrope uniform on the floor, she definitely looks drugged. I felt that right away. Further evidence from the '96 timeline: When Lottie gives Travis and Nat the tea she developed during the "blessing". Nat stops drinking the tea, or going to the blessing at all, but Travis continues and becomes more and more entranced with Lottie and her beliefs to the the point that he has visions of Lottie while having sex with Nat. I think there is DEFINITELY cheese down this tunnel.
-The Methane Theory: Methane is a solid theory and could be what is happening. That could actually explain Laura Lee's death in the plane as well. However, I'm a bigger fan of the illegal mine theory as toxic mercury exposure would explain the dead birds, the sick bear, the sick deer with maggots inside, the lack of fish in the lake, the blood red stream, the crazy compass, what Cabin Daddy is doing there in the first place, Lottie's underground visions, and where the hell Javi went. Having said that, the two theories are not mutually exclusive as there could be an illegal mercury mine AND methane poisoning. Hey, with this show, you never know!

And how would it explain any heat significant enough to reach the surface and a allow a single tree to have moss grow on it? A mine even when in operation isn't a furnace and this one, which "Theoretically" has been decommissioned for year is somehow supplying enough heat to the surface to melt snow and allow moss to grow? I'm not saying the show won't do that, but if they do, it's getting pretty lame.

I do not trust Lottie, I don’t believe her story about Travis whatsoever I think that lottie needs the rest of the group to appease the God that she is still worshiping that they found out in the woods. If she truly believes that they discovered “darkness” out in the woods, then why are her followers wearing that symbol.
Very interesting Theory regarding methane pockets in yellow jackets if you know anything about the oil industry, Canada is probably has the largest oil reserves anywhere in the world but they are currently in what's called a oil impacted sand reserves I Believe been awhile but they're having to use a lot of technology to extract these oil reserves from the Canadian soil. So the fact that the show has made it explicitly clear that they are trapped in the Canadian wilderness not Montana not Wisconsin but the Canadian wilderness is kind of a could be a pointer towards oil gas methane production in Canada it was probably being secretly looked at in the mid-90s or I'd know that that Acres were sold during that time for operators. The Crux of all this is that methane can also is not only deadly but it's also in small doses could possibly give you the feeling of maybe acid or mushrooms or something along those lines. So perhaps Misty finding those mushrooms in the first few episodes was kind of a precursor to them living and basically a who's Hosanna genic state for 18 months and how would that affect your brain your memories what's real what's not. Also wondering if anyone else remembers that Ty grandmother was a part of a type of Santeria religion where it involves a lot of mystical elements that perhaps Ty kind of buried within herself and it's now this bad one is kind of like the place where she's kept all of her fear all her anxiety all the things she's told herself or make-believe her whole life is now kind of being rolled into this quote-unquote bad one so perhaps it is Ty but perhaps it's just a different version of tie that she's buried deep within herself for whatever reason

S1 E1 at the high school party on the eve of Nationals, Nat takes acid and trips out, why does she see a vision of Misty? I mean we knew she wld be fucked up, its acid and we sae her friends faces get all weird... Idk maybe its nothing, but I feel like its something...
Yeah that was never explained was it? It's weird for them to put something in the show that has no purpose so I'm sure we'll get some sort of explanation for that.
Especially with the music that's playing when she sees misty is definitely a hint at something

I don't think it was a hallucination. I think Misty was there hovering around the fringes of the party. No one would have invited her to the party, but she shows up so that she can watch and spy. She does it a lot at the crash site and cabin as well. She does it at Doomcoming too when she's hanging back to spy on Ben. She's very much an outsider, she's quirky and weird and she's been bullied. This is how she can still be a part of things
THEORY - in the main trailer for season 2 at about half way Taissa says “we have to find a way to stay alive” and I believe they will draw straws (or something like that) to see who they kill. Furthermore, the girl who draws the short straw will run out of the cabin and that’s who they are chasing in the trailer and also who we see them bringing back to the cabin. This will probably be the season finale. Let me know what you think.
Hey all. Loved your breakdown Ash! This show is just the best and you have great insight! Love your methane theory. Not ruling that out. The only thing I have a different take on that might be important is that I don't think Shauna has a bloody nose at all. In the preview we see that's she's on top of someone, punching them and her nose is fine. if you look close, you can see the fist she's using to hit them is bloody. It's possible she just wiped her face after the fact because I don't see how the person she is on top of can possibly throw a decent enough punch to do that kind of damage from under her like that. Randy could be the one who will be interrogated by Misty and Walter but he just saw Misty at the Reunion dance so he's definitely going to recognize her. Randy's a little slow, but he's not completely oblivious. Lottie is totally spiking the food. I also think teenage Lottie was spiking Travis' food back in the cabin too which is why he started tripping balls during sex with Nat. Tai's reflection moving on it's own is sooooo creepy!! So is the man with no eyes making more appearances. Tai is really scaring me right now and I'm worried about Steve's whereabouts since he's already MIA. 😲

Some thought on this episode...
1) Lottie is so suspicious! I don't trust her and feel like she didn't tell Nat the whole story about Travis and how he died. 2) In the wilderness I noticed that Lottie gave Shauna Jackie's heart necklace. We know that the necklace plays a role in the fate of the pit girl. To me it seems like the necklace becomes the marker for who is next to follow Jackie's fate. 3)Tai and her sleepwalking is really freaking me out. She is getting worse and I wonder if this escalation is what causes her to reach out to Van. They have such a special relationship and Van knows how to deal to Tai and the sleepwalking. She might me the key to helping her with the bad one. 4) I too think that there must be something up with at tree stump. I like your idea of the mine shaft gases and that killing the birds and causing them to hallucinate. Hopefully Javi isn't lost in mine shaft having crazy hallucinations! Lol

We know she didn't tell everything about Travis or she would have mentioned seeing Lora Lee and how her ghost turned to a screaming ash in front of her. That's not your average normal thing to see. Lottie is also always saying how "it wants blood" and maybe she sacrificed Travis in order to have one of her visions.
I do wonder if Tai does have DID or what could be multiple personalities as her face in the mirror is different than her pose irl. Psychologists who believe in DID know it is caused from intense trauma and everything happening could easily be a case of severe and ongoing trauma.
Adult Lottie is a tragic character. Not evil or dangerous. She is trying her hardest to quit having the visions but I think her visit to the psychiatrist was another vision.
I didnt really think about it before but it does feel out of character for Tai to just jump in and start eating Jackie with the others. Tai is someone who ALWAYS has something to say for every thing they all do, and she always wants to have a discussion before anything is done or decided. She's probably the one trying to hold on to being civilized the most. But with Jackie's body she just didn't have anything to say. She didnt even take a second to question if they should really be doing that. Her dark side was desperate enough for food to go outside and eat dirt, I'm sure her dark side would eat people too. It really does feel like shes gonna wake up in the morning and will learn what she did and will not handle it well, finding out she ate another human while she wasnt in control of her own body. Everyone else at least got to make a consious choice of if they would partake in the feast or not, but if Tai was sleep walking, then she didnt get to make that choice, it was just kinda made for her. I'm curious to see if the YJs will have to face any kind of legal repercussion for the things they did in the wilderness if it all comes out somehow. Would they still have to answer for the people they unalived? Will they have to face the parents of any of the teammates they unalived if the truth comes out? I'm so curious how everyone would react to these things coming out and being revealed to the public
It’ll also explain why in present day she doesn’t eat meat. Maybe they’re under a trance and the power of just plan hunger, they had no real control of themselves.
also her response when she 'wakes up' is really strange as well. she says something like 'we have to go,' it just seems like something was pulling her. much like in the sleep walking episodes she has.
Well, this show is fictional, but in 1972 when flight 571 did actually go down in the Andes mountain range the people that survived were faced with the reality of starve to death or eat the people who not only passed in the plane crash, but also died of exposure and injuries afterward. They did attempt everything beforehand including chewing on leather. They did actually come out and tell their story and were terribly ashamed of what they had to do to survive and there was mixed reactions from people/the public and the media was a circus. However, the Catholic Church heard their confessions and told them they were not damned due to the in extremis nature of their survival situation. The media and public accepted everything more once they knew the extreme and dire nature of the circumstances. The medical records all show scurvy and severe malnutrition as well. It's not unheard of in severe survival situations for seemingly normal people to go to extremes no one would have ever thought possible.
The thing about Tai is IDK who is the bad one sometimes. I hope this makes sense, but from the first episodes it's like she had a personality split when the plane crash happened. In the first episodes she broke her fellow players leg in a significant compound fracture because she didn't want her going to nationals and wanted to "icer her out". She did some harmful things very intentionally from the very beginning like breaking bones. I never saw her as kind and caring and then turned bad. I see her as having to split where she has a side that wants to have a normal life and is vegetarian and has a dog despite her wolf and predatory nature and the bad and mean parts of her split to probably eat a whole roast, sacrifice her dog in the basement, blame her child for things, break bones, eat more than a roast, and basically stop or take care of anyone who gets in her way. I think she split from the trauma and she has has progressively lost control over which side is in charge from Season 1 onward and the things the bad side does have gotten far worse than eating dirt and watching her son at night through his bedroom window.
@Wolfie Van FrankenStryker Oh, I enjoy several movies you mentioned from Girl, Interrupted (Mental health institutions), One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (dealing with nurse Ratchet eventually breaking people by Electroshock Therapy), and know the Kennedy's and other prominent families would place children in institutions and the prefrontal lobotomy which you see in Sucker Punch where all of the girls are part of a "dream state" of an actual escape. I've also actually seen people after current electroshock and they look so incredibly off.
The issue is the people who wrote and designed this show wanted a more female version of "Lord of the Flies". In Lord of the Flies the boys on a remote island start to become paranoid of something they name "The Beast" and they take things that happen in reality as signs the beast is a real thing. One of the boys attempts to convince the others that there is no Beast, but they find a corpse and basically become convinced of their own paranoia. Eventually their fear and paranoia becomes so overwhelming that when a peer comes back they mistake that peer for the Beast and beat the person to death. That peer is the only one who knew the Beast was not real. The boys have split into two factions by this point and one faction plans to hunt a an opposing group member at dawn. When the hunt occurs is the time when they are rescued and the rescuers see the "feral" nature of the boys. They call it "the end of innocence" and since they were caught in the hunt of a human they basically sob uncontrollably with their shame as rescuers see what they have become. Brief synopsis of what the creators of this show compared it to.
I think trauma can mess with the brain, starvation, isolation, etc. I think recovery from this and Lottie being the believer of "the beast" or "the wild" would be hard to deal with and likely take her being hospitalized for mental health and any further hallucinations may make her question is she was actually paranoid or a seer. Is it paranoia or is it something more evil?
Something to do with bees or “yellowjackets” are what are causing the crazies in the wilderness. I thought that was obvious. Maybe I’m off.
It might be the sunlight, but I don’t tia ( adult )in a few parts looked like her eyes were red - I didn’t know what it was but even if it was just a play with the sunlight or whatever I think it has a bigger meeting - and I just find it ironic that Lotte visions and Tia sleepwalking kinda seem to be going hand and hand
Lisa (Nicole Maines) could be Shawna's (in the woods) baby. She's slightly older than Callie and could be an interesting story line

i don't know that Nat was having a premonition. i think it almost seems like she could have been drugged in the scene where she lies down in the bed and she has the flash back of one of her ODs. her behavior is a bit odd in that scene, how she kind of throws herself onto the bed and such. it's so hard to tell with Nat tho, because her baseline is already kind of like that.

I get theries with every scene. My daughter keeps threatning me that she will stop watching with me. I keep thinking someone who we think is dead, is not. Someone knows something and if screwwing with them. I though T was just sleep walking, last season with the dirt and the dog, but I think it is another personality that was formed to deal with the trauma from the crash. My kid did agree with me on that one, because the host will not know what the other personality, and the way they are shooting her mirror image moving...I think that is where they are going with her. I feel really bad for the little boy...AND the new dog. Was disapointed that adult Van has not been in the show so far. I LOVE her and can't wait to see what she does with this character. Will be interesting how much of the thrid timeline we see this season, thinking it will be very limited, until season 3.

to be honest tai's sleeping walking reminds me of DID...i really don't know if this is what they're going for, but i wonder if tai has had DID but it only comes out when she's in high stress situations, because what it actually is is that the brain can't handle whatever is happening, so it dissociates, which is basically what's happening with her...that being said idk if sleepwalking has anything to do with it, but i do know sleep has a lot to do with a lot of mental illnesses, like if you are sleep deprived it can trigger manic episodes in those with bipolar...i feel like there's more to tai's childhood that they could speak on, because they touched on it a tiny bit, but if they were to go with the DID route then it would be from something in her childhood, meaning we have yet to see some important parts of tai's story...i'm not sure about this theory, i wouldn't even really say it's a theory, more like i notice aspects of what tai is going through match up with what i know about DID but it also somewhat matches up with sleepwalking, just a very elevated way (usually not collecting important items, climbing up trees, walking through a whole forest with the intent to jump off a cliff, driving a car, sacrificing animals, building altars, etc...like that all seems too much for JUST sleepwalking if that makes sense)
I agree with the DID idea, but they could say it's from the trauma of a plane crash and seeing your friends dead and then starving and seeing more people die. I mean the entire show is basically all trauma. However Tai does some stuff in the first episodes that has me like "That's not healthy!!!". When she wants to "ice out" the freshman she feels didn't play as well and doesn't want her coming to nationals and hides it from certain people, she doesn't just make her trip or fall on the ball, she causes a frickin compound fracture in what appears to be the tibia and fibula of that girls leg. That's not a little rough, that's out to break bones and do damage to get what she wants. I don't know if it was childhood or if we simply saw some of the real Tai who would do anything to get her way and win. I think she may have had some "bad" in her before the plane crash and her mind split into a kind of good Tai and bad Tai. One that is a mom and successful lawyer who is a vegetarian and the other who breaks bones, eats meat(s), makes alters, and will do anything to get her way to anyone in her way.

Though when they were rescued they said the baby is Lottie's. So the girl was adopted or in foster care. Joined the cult because she thinks Lottie is her mom.

Totally agree. Lottie always said "it wants blood" and I think Travis may have been a sacrifice for Lottie to be able to have one of her visions, the part she didn't tell Nat. Where it looked like Laura Lee's ghost came walking out of the darkness is the stiff motions and then was screaming and turned to ash/died. I think Lottie wanted a happy or guiding vision again and she didn't get it.

It's Clear everyone has their roles and since the first hunt and kill Shauna's role has been to use the knife to bleed out the kill. We clearly see someone doing that and it's not the Antler Queen. Shauna has always been the neck cutting, bleed out the kill person. So in in terms in process of elimination, we can eliminate her as the antler queen. It's probably the Show Tunes singing girl.
