I really hope they make full waves of LotR and not just $200+ display sets. Many children are still getting into fantasy, DnD, and LotR and playsets are desperately needed for Lego to move with the times. Maybe 1 UCS sets per year, and ditch the brickheadz for similarly priced playsets. A Minas Tirith battlepack would be my perfect set
in regards to your Shelob's lair idea, there was actually a Shelob set in the original line, which I got, and liked a lot. seeing a revamped version would be cool, although I'm not sure I would get it
I heard from an Interview with the designers that Rivendell was almost Bag End. So I hope bag end and barad dur become real sets at the very least. I want them all really to be sets
I have the Bag End set from the Hobbit Lego line (didn't care for the movies as much but was late to the LOTR Lego sets and wanted to get something from Middle Earth). Seeing a bigger one would be nice. :) We just got the Rivendell - it's really heavy. We have to dismantle our Hogwarts castle to make room to build it.....
Probably the biggest miss here is the Bridge of Khazad-dum with a Balrog. Also alliance battle packs wouldnt make much sense, especially over more prominent battles (Helms deep or minas tirith) I think if we get a full on wave, lego would focus on most-wanted sets that havent gotten released yet (Khazaddum, amon hen, pelenor fields/minas tirith). I think a micro build minas tirith is spot on, with pelenor fields being good for play sets. A witchking on fell beast and mumakil set would both be highly desirable. Meanwhile, at best if we got $30 battlepack (akin to the 501st battlepack) we could see a villain battlepack with 2-3 orcs, 1 easterling, 1 haradrim. Builds could be siege towers or catapults. It would be awesome to see a troll included but that would never happen. For the good guys 2 gondorians, 1-2 mounted rohirrim, and 1 undead. Build a trebuchet.
You forgot about such gems as Minas Morgul and Argonath. Bree would be cool too and Buckleberry ferry could be a part of this set. Besides I would see Lotlórien as UCS.
I feel like we would be more likely to get the hobbits hiding under the tree with a ring wraith above rather then buckleberry ferry. And I think that 30$ price point is way under. I'd say mabey 100$ for that many figs
The hobbits hiding under the tree is a great idea! My thought for the price is based on the Harry Potter bathroom set where it came with 4 figures. That was before the prices increased though, so you definitely have a good point.
Your enthusiasm and optimistic attitude is commendable but this is Lego we are talking about! In last 3 years they have skipped on minifigs, quality of sets are diminished and with Lego knowing the fan base of lotr n Tolkien, they will milk every last penny they can! I can't see Lego giving more than 2-3 minifigs under 50$ and if they do, it'll b very cheesey sets! They will only do bigger minifig amounts in 200$ plus sets! I'm 47 and been into Lego 40 years! The decline in Lego is unlike anything ever seen in last 3 years and havnt bought anything new in a year! And being lotr, I can see them trying to milk it worse than star wars atm and that's just gotten out of control! I hope your right but 100% doubt your optimistic hopes in Lego still being about there fans instead of about profits n cutting corners for profit!
I got Orthanc and Bag end, but a upgraded Bag end would be very tempting. Fingers crossed they do not make Helms deep. Couldn't aford it and have little space left.
I'd like to get sets like for Avatar, because these where both displayable and playable. Also the advantage of these is that they can get like 40% cost reduction on some shops. The problem with these big sets is that they are exclusive and you have to pay the full price. I got all the avatar sets that I want with at least 30% reductions, imagine Rivendell with a 30% cost reduction, that's 350!
According to me price predictions are too low, other things are ok. Rivendell set is 500 Euros so 30 usd sets are almost impossible because of inflation
The Two Towers are the Orthanc and Minas Morgul (not Barad Dur). In designing the Two Towers book, Tolkien designed a cover depicting the two towers, but at the time, it was considered too expensive to produce, so they did not publish that particular cover. Fortunately, in recent years, Harper Collins produced that very cover as the dust jacket for one edition of the Two Towers hardbound. The cover features the two towers, on one, it depicts a white hand (meaning the hand of Saruman), which denotes it as the Orthanc. The other Tower features 9 rings, showing it to be the 9 rings given to mortal men who became the Nazgul (hence, Minas Morgul...besides, "minas" means "tower"). And flying in between both towers is a Nazgul riding a Fell Beast.
Absolutely love this! This is also my take based on the books alone (Orthanc and Minas Morgal), but I did not know that about the covers. Super interesting! Thank you for sharing this!
Your price points just seem so far off from what LEGO would do. An under $40 set that includes all 4 hobbits and multiple ringwraiths? Lol. I don’t like paying what we pay but be realistic.
Tolkien himself disliked the title the two towers, because it was unclear what it referred to. However, I think I’ve read that it’s supposed to be minas tirith and minas morgul?
When searching into it, apparently it refers to isengard and minas morgal. You make that statement with such confidence as if it is fact, what gives you that idea?@@ethanmietzner5218
Well, I didn't hear an option that I wouldn't buy. Sure I'd have to get a second job, but hey, it would be worth it. I just really do hope this turns into a theme that stays around, because as good as Rivendell looks, it would be a bit odd to just have that and nothing else.
Agreed! I've heard that lego is waiting to see how Rivendell does before they formally commit to an entire product line, and seeing that the set sold out in the first day, I'm hopeful!
@@stackingstoriesreviews With how many new molds that are in Rivendell (a ton of new weapon molds, new elf hair piece, etc), it would be weird if they weren't already committed to doing a full wave so I think they just said that to try and encourage more people to buy Rivendell.
I have been a huge advocate that Minas Tirith MUST be micro scale. That's the only way to communicate the iconicity of this massive and glorious location. I agree with all of the other sets. I personally would love to see a lot of Diorama sets such as the Last Alliance, the Door of Durin at the Mines of Moria, Shelob, Mt Doom, and much more.
@@ethanmietzner5218 everyone hates those tiny little micro scale figures. Only in your mind does it have to be micro scale. More than likely it will never be a set, it would be too hard to make a good set without it costing $600 + dollars
I believe they should only do the big collector sets because lotr isn’t really relative to the kids and I prefer getting one big set a year than 5-8 smaller sets a year.
I don't agree at all. I just got Rivendell and love it but I really want cheaper sets to get lots of different scenes and minifigures, there so many things that would make great sets
Huh? LOTR has been relative to kids since the books came out in the 50s. Also, the movies are 20 years old, but now parents who love them are showing them to their kids, making them continually relevant. My nephew is 9 and loves the movies. Also, I'm an adult, but collect other things than just LOTR, so dedicating $500 to LOTR is a bit more than i want to spend. I would be all over some amazing playable/displayable $100 sets. LEGO should make a variety of price sets so all ages and income levels can enjoy a little lego LOTR.
As an AFOL, I love rivendell of course but I really want smaller sets that I can collect without breaking the bank.
Same here! Rivendell looks like a fantastic set but hopefully we get some smaller ones soon!
Then the $$$ to light the set up - not sure if I want to do that. Just finished the Rivendell set yesterday .
The ships to the gray havens would be cool. The large statues on either side of the river entering Gondor.
I really hope they make full waves of LotR and not just $200+ display sets.
Many children are still getting into fantasy, DnD, and LotR and playsets are desperately needed for Lego to move with the times.

Totally agree! A Minas Tirith battlepack would be absolutely stellar.
What about modular hobbit holes? They could release one or two a year as you can build up the Shire over time (like Weta Workshop’s hobbit hole line).
Let’s be honest here who would actually want that
Niche audience for this for sure, but I'd definitely make a Shire diorama if they did this!
Me@@dualmoldedb3088
I think the best outcome would be many smaller army-building battle sets, maybe one or two $70-$120 sets, and the rest can be bigger collector's items
in regards to your Shelob's lair idea, there was actually a Shelob set in the original line, which I got, and liked a lot. seeing a revamped version would be cool, although I'm not sure I would get it

Argonath could be amazing!
That would be incredible!
I heard from an Interview with the designers that Rivendell was almost Bag End. So I hope bag end and barad dur become real sets at the very least. I want them all really to be sets
That's so exciting! Hopefully that means that a Bag End is already in the works!
Anything minifigure scale with elves and beautiful locations. And detailed modular hobittown yes
Considering the Rivendell set sold out the first day, I could see this being almost as huge as Star Wars if Lego goes for it.
It's crazy how fast it sold out! I hope you're right!
I have the Bag End set from the Hobbit Lego line (didn't care for the movies as much but was late to the LOTR Lego sets and wanted to get something from Middle Earth). Argonauth definitely cool
I guess as a play set they could make Frodo and Sam in Mordor? With a few orcs, a little tent, some sort of costume they can wear?
Definitely!
I think an $80 Prancing Pony would be great
Absolutely!
I’m still thinking about a mini scale erebor with the city of dale
I wonder if hobbit or even rings of power sets are likely to happen
Rivendell looks amazing, but I can't justify the size & price. I really want to see some affordable, smaller sets.
I think we'll get some smaller sets, hopefully this year!
tom bombadils home and old man willow
I hadn't even considered that one! That would be absolutely epic.
Battle Packs, we need Battle Packs.
Lots and lots of battle packs!
UCS Edoras/Meduseld is both necessary and expected. Followed by Minas Tirith on the same scale as the Eiffel Tower. Do Peter Jackson proud, LEGO!
Do Peter Jackson proud indeed!!
I would buy EVERY ONE of these!!! Great video!
Thank you so much! I hope we see at least a few of these sets!
Did you forget we have a buildable ent in orthanc?
As for Entmoot - could be done as one Ent was included with the Orthanc set.
Excellent point!

I can definitely see that!
Bag end, weathertop, Balin’s Tomb, Bridge of Kazad-Dum with balrog. Helms deep. I’d love to see a series of micro scale castles too.
Helm's Deep for sure!
The path to helms deep with warg riders would be cool
Good one! Some wargs would be great!
