    In this video, "How to pick an MOS? Here are 3 things to Consider! | Advice from a Marine Corps Veteran" I'm going to help you determine which MOS or path you should choose when joining.
    Picking an MOS can be nerve wracking.
    Not only are you going to be stuck doing that MOS for the next 4 years, but also you need to consider whether or not you want that MOS to benefit you when you get out.
    I encourage you to study hard for the ASVAB and really think about all of your options.
    If joining the Marine Corps is something you are considering then you've come to the right place.
    I created For The Corps because I wanted to create a resource that I wish I had when I joined the Marine Corps in 2010.
    I remember how little information there was back then and how I really didn't have any resources to find the answers to my questions.
    Well, you've got a resource here at For The Corps.
    I aim to give you guys the raw truths about joining the Marine Corps, my experiences, and any other bit of information that will help you!
    The fear of the unknown is a real thing and I aim to shed some light for you and make you guys realize that you CAN and SHOULD go after your dreams.
    Fear is always going to be there, but its what you choose to do about it that will truly determine where your path leads.
    Go after your dreams fearlessly, be aggressive, embrace the suck and stay humble!
    Semper Fidels,
    Tony (Sergeant, Marine Corps Veteran)

    The best thing to remember when picking your MOS is that it can change at anytime because the NEEDS of the Corps outweigh the needs of the Marine Semper Fi

    I’m in college right now and I’m looking to join the marines but I am not interested in the officer route. I really want to enlist after I graduate, do my four years and then if I still like the military then I’ll go Officer maybe in another branch and then do my 20 years. What do you think?

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Před 2 lety +3

      I get where you’re coming from, but you’re really leaving a lot of money and everything on the table. If you have the option to go Officer, I’d do it. If anything I’d look into joining now and seeing if they’ll pay for your college if you agree to commission after graduation.

    When did one become able to chose your MOS? When I was in '63-'66 we took several days of aptitude tests and the about a week before graduation you were told what you would be.

      Then go infantry! You’re going to be doing a lot of PT regardless of you MOS.

    Hey brother it’s me that had left to mcrd but I had came home since they had disqualified me for having keratoconus!!! They said I need to have surgery and get a waiver to come back but everyone is telling me they won’t allow u or they will but can u ask around about the eye disease and will I be able to reenlist!!!

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Před 2 lety

      Have you looked in to the surgery? How long is the recovery time and all that? I don't know any thing about that. I'd say your best bet would be to get the surgery, recover, and maintain contact with your recruiter and see what your options are.

      Nah no medical MOS if you want to do anything medical with marines you might have to go Navy and be a Hospital Corpman, then you have to complete A school and C school and go FMF

    Wassup man so I’m going threw the process to join I went to meps took my asvab scored a 35 so I passed but the thing is my recruiter told me I only qualify for admin but it’s like I couldn’t imagine doing that I want infantry but he told me I can change it after 2 years what should I do?

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Před 2 lety +1

      He is right about being able to change your MOS after two years, but I wouldn't recommend that. I would ask him what you need to do to qualify for more MOS options. Maybe study and retake the asvab?
