Develop a sense of urgency donât take certain things to heart check your ego. Man this is some real advice here. Not bullshit tips. Thank you sir. I ship In 2 weeks. San Diego.
When you first arrive a MCRD, you will say to yourself, I think I screwed up big time. As time goes on you will gain pride in yourself and you will be amazed at what you can do. Becoming a US Marine is not easy, it's not meant to be. You can do it.
Preach it! You ain't lyin man! Its not easy, but its a very rewarding endeavor!

I want to be a Marine. My friend felt down, depressed all of the time with a 9 to 5 job. I feel the same, once he came back from the Marine corps boot camp he felt way better about life. So I'm planning on getting into the Mariners today.

I am 18, been graduated for 8 months now, been doing electrical, I am not passionate about it and the Marines was always my back up plan, I would be the 5th marine in the family tree that I know of, My dad raised my brother and I like Marines pretty much, he taught us the discipline and knowledge from his time in the marines our whole lives, my brother is a 0311 marine and going to his graduation really fired me up to join.

@@davidmejia954 That's cool as hell! Where you guys shipping out of? What questions do you have? I'll be posting another video on Wednesday...
For The Corps With all this pandemic crap hopefully I leave. I leave outta NJ. I do have a question. From a scale of 1-10 how difficult is it to graduate guide?!?! Iâm trying to graduate guide.
@@davidmejia954 It is hard to maintain guide throughout basic. But, not impossible. You need to show leadership from the get go and when the time comes grab that Guidon and don't EVER let anyone take it from you.. Only the Senior Drill Instructor in certain cases.. In some cases, the Green Belt DI's will try and take it from you and other recruits as well.
As the guide you need to be setting the example, give others something to look forward too. If someone messes up, both the guide and their squad leader are right there with that other recruit paying for the mistake. Get ready to be on the quarter deck alottttt.
I was a squad leader a few separate times during boot camp, never stuck.. But, when it came time for graduation, they meritoriously promoted 3 people from the platoon. The guide, one of the squad leaders and myself.
One of my best friends from the Marine Corps graduated basic a few months after me. He graduated as the Honor Guide and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. He is still in. Currently an EOD Tech on recruiting duty in Pennsylvania. He'll be a Gunnery Sergeant within a year.
Hard work pays off in the Marine Corps.
I'm 17 and I've wanted to go into the Marine Crops since I was in middle school. I'm starting to take care of myself more and trying to better myself before I go. This video has been a really good motivator, thanks a lot. :)
Have you gone to it if so how was it Iâm 18 and thinking of joining
@@Shirokuruse Iâm 17 as well and I go to boot camp in July. Iâm going because Iâm coming right out of high school and you have structure in high school. Iâm not a very structured person. So when you join the military you get that as well just harsher and in a way better prepares you for the world after the military because of all the values you learn in service. I think overall itâs a great option, but then again this is just my take on it.

Iâm 24 thinking about joining the marine corps. Itâs something Iâve wanted since high school but life happened and I had stuff to do. I would be lying if I said that Iâm not nervous and scared but at the same time I feel exhilarated and eager; mix of emotions. I want to be the best version I can be for myself, my country and my faith and I believe the marine corps will get me there.

Iâm 24 about to be 25 and I feel like the corps is my best option not just for a career opportunity but for personal growth as well. My dad carried a radio for a couple years before receiving a medical discharge and he still holds himself to the USMC standard.

Go for it bro!
I'm 62 and love watching videos like yours because if I had a "do over" I'd join the Marines. The discipline, focus, sense of urgency and physical training, etc. that Marines have has caused me to RESPECT every Marine I've met and worked with all my life. I needed that in my life, especially when I was younger.
Thanks for what you're doing with your channel!
I really appreciate that Bill! I love hearing stories from those who watch my videos! I am just trying to create a resource that I wish I had when I joined the Corps 10 years ago.
I loved the Marine Corps and really enjoyed my time serving in it. Sure, there were a lot of times that I hated it, but its like anything in life. I've always been the type of person to look at any situation and see the good in it. There is always something to be learned and the Marine Corps was a great environment for my young mind.
I'm 17 and a big kid weight wise and I grew up wanting to be a Marine, started running and already have self discipline, but not gonna lie I have trouble eating healthy but I'm sure gonna try!
Baby steps man! Eating healthy is a lifestyle change. The more gradual the more sustainable. Start cutting out certain things in small increments and over time cut out more. Good luck to you and thanks for watching! New video uploaded every Wednesday!
Try cutting sugars, like fructose corn syrup, so did of sodas and juices. Sugar does a lot to your body in terms of gaining fat. Dropping certain sugars is a start. Of course your brain and body need sugar so don't completely lose it.
@@StevenTheAristolianNerd Great advice! If people just cut out juices, sodas and candy they'd be amazed at how much of a difference it would make!
I believe in you!! You got this!

Iâm shipping out in June and Iâm so glad I came across your videos. Theyâve helped me mentally and physically prepare. Part of the reason why I started going to the gym is so I could become physically fit to endure what the marine corps has to offer. I am 15 years old right now and have wanted to be a Marine since I was around 7 or 8. I plan on joining once I get out of high school. I appreciate the information and tips that you gave in this video and I will start working on them. Thank you for taking time to make this video, it is really going to help me out.

Always so confused on what branch to join until I jad a talk with a couple of Marine Recruiters. They didn't try to sell me amd instead taught me, gave me advice, and wanted to help me be a better person or marine and by god they weren't nice about it and I'm glad they weren't because I'm unhealthy and big. None of the other recruiters did that and now that I'm growing up I'm understanding what I need to do and why. I can't join law enforcement or be a marine eating shit and not working out because how am I supposed to save a life when I can barely save my own. I'm slowly doing better and I know I can, I just need to work harder for it.
I'm glad you didn't take any of it personally! Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders. Keep working towards your goals!
This is straight up good advice for LIFE!!!
Awesome đ
I'm 26, I've always wanted to join but got busy quick with other things after high-school. I've worked construction since I was 17 and I'm just not passionate about it. I've always been interested in the military, especially the marine corps. My great grand father was a marine during ww2 and fought on iwo jima. I still have his uniform, cartridge belt and dog tags and a few other things. I want to join and become the best that I can be and become a leader and be more self confident. Thank you for all your videos! They are very helpful.
Im also 26 and want to join in a little worried about being older but I figure Iâll regret never trying more than I would failing
Im 18, I ship out to bootcamp in San Diego for infantry. One of the main reasons chose to join is for self confidence and to push myself to my limits, I think it will make me realize how good everyone has it in life and appreciate things more. Also to earn the title of the 1% đđȘ

I agree totally with your brother, it's no secret being a good Marine is self accountability build yourself up but also everyone around you. You cannot be a good Marine on just yourself you need other good Marines around you. How good you wore and how could you make others around you depends on your heart and how much you put into it. Semper Fi!
People feed off of other people. I firmly believe being a good person, carrying yourself professionally, and holding yourself to a higher standard will rub off on others and inspire them to change.

I'm 15 honestly, I think learning things early is something useful and around listen to things like this to get used to it. I know the marine cor is going to be a challenge, but the sooner I get used to it, the more I can show that I care to have a spot as a marine soldier
No such thing as a marine soldier bud! If you are in the army, you are a soldier. If you are in the marines, you are a MARINE. Keep your hopes up little guy, marines can use little men like you

24M, Been bouncing the military around in my head since 17. Ended up going to college instead of going to Canada to play hockey. Graduated. Been in a few corporate jobs from finance to real estate. Grew up around electricians and construction. Had multiple family members serve over multiple generations. Been doing my research hard the last two weeks, still have more to do, but the itch hasn't gone away and I know with 100% certainty I will end up as another individual later in life still asking "well what if".
I'm 21 watching this video in '23. I've dreamt of being a marine since my father told me about his time in the corps before I was in school.

@@ForTheCorps how did he take it physically? Currently 29 waiting on a age waiver and trying to get my running back to where it was but being older we get more fragile if you know what I mean lol appreciate any feedback.
I'm 29. Last year I changed career paths and went back to college for IT. I just got a call from a recruiter today, so I'm looking into everything now. It's an option that's always been in the back of my mind, but the fact that I can get into infosec and state-sponsored hacking through the military (even the reserves) is making it look way more appealing to me. Especially considering i can get all of the certifications i'm studying for (sec+, ccna, ccnp, ceh, oscp) through the marines. If i knew that was an option, i would have signed up in 2010. My father was a paratrooper in the army in Viet Nam, my grandfather was a marine in WWII, my uncle is an army ranger. I grew up with a basic understanding of what I'm in for. I'm here because I'm trying to get a feel for it and see if it's right for me.
Sounds like youâve got a pretty sweet opportunity. The Marines and military in general is what you make of it. Unless your a shitbag, suck at PT, lazy, weak minded, problem with authority or any other obvious reason youâll be fine. Basic training is all about embracing the suck and doing as your told. You get used to it in a way and it becomes tolerable. You try to fight it then your in for a long shitty 13 weeks! Keep me posted on what you end up doing man, Iâm looking forward to hearing back!
@@ForTheCorps I gotcha. I feel like I'm pretty prepared for the suck. Right now I'm looking into which branch can help me get to where I want to be, or if the path I'm currently on is a better one for me. I want to serve my country by defending our personal information and by defending our military and government information form people who would wish to sabotage us, whether that's through the military or infosec. I subscribed to your channel and I will be sure to let you know what I decide.
Thanks a lot man. The support means a lot. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do. Plenty of opportunities for you from the sounds of it. Good luck!
Currently 16, been dreaming since 9.5 to join the Marines! I still have some training to do before I can physically be ready for it, but I canât wait!
Been in talks with my recruiter for a while now and I'm currently being filtered through the Genysis program but I'm determined. I'm 19, and this shit with Ukraine is part of the reason I'm joining. Once it all started I reached out to go volunteer but after talking with a few guys I knew who had military experience, they told me I should go get trained and do it right. After mulling it over here I am, current waiting to be enrolled in the DEP as a polee

I'm 17, I just graduated high school on the 5th on June and now I'm going to marine boot camp on July 12th. Iâm 16 years old in my sophomore year and Iâve had an interest in enlisting in the Marine Corp for quite sometime now. I am in no way entitled, Iâm able to support my peers and discipline is engraved in my brain. Improving my sleep, eating habits and my physique will further improve my performance in the marines and I grant my thanks to you for helping me find the inspiration to improve upon those 3 things. Thank you for your service and stay strong đȘ
I am 17 as of now I was planning on enlisting once I graduate but I was told I need to lose 40 lbs because Iâm 6â0â 270 lbs and I need to be at 220 in order to make the cut but I have been working my ass off because I know this is what I want to do in life
Just continue exercising and working out. What kinds of things are you doing currently for exercise? Also, if you haven't done so already clean up your diet. 40 pounds isn't impossible. Read David Goggins book, "Can't Hurt Me" for some motivation and to get an idea of how much weight he lost to become a Seal.
Iâm 17 this month and Iâm going to try and enlist and ship out next summer. Thanks for the advice
Iâm 17 rn just talked to my recruiter yesterday about the marine corps and Iâm ready for the challenge
Iâm 24 turning 25 next year in January. I got my class A license and started looking up videos with commercial driving and I came across a tiktok of a motor transporter in the military and I thought that was cool asf hauling a tank in a military truck. My uncle is a veteran marine and heâs persuading me to join and Iâm going for it!
I'm 16 and planning on enlisting later this year, thanks for making this 2 years ago
27 year old female, wanted to join right out of high school but never did, until now. planning to enlist now but having serious doubts about my size and age. this video and all the comments helped though, thank you đ
welp Iâm 16 but already graduating high school, I turn 17 next month and when that day comes I want to sign up! I really want to become a marine and this video really helps so thank you !
Thank you and if you're considering joining I'm all for it! If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
Iâm 23, turning 24 in August. I wanted to join straight out of high school, but I couldnât decide on what I wanted to do in life and long story short, my life is a depressing nightmare. To put it bluntly. If I told you even a quarter of what has happened to me, youâd be shocked. I wanted to join the Marines originally because my uncle was a marine in Vietnam, he was a machine gunner (M60) in the infantry, he did 3 tours. Unfortunately he passed away when I was 12 from Agent Orange effects, so I did not get to know him as much as I wanted to. I am still interested in joining, and it runs through my head every day, and Iâve been getting in good shape, but I have some health issues that Iâm afraid MEPS will fail me for after boot camp. Not to mention, Iâm trying to figure out what to do with my mom because she is broke at the age she should be retiring at, and if I leave, she might be out on the street.
My goal is to able to join force reconnaissance marines and eventually reach marsoc and push myself to be the absolute best marine i could be following my uncle and brother footsteps and join them on the yellow footprints. Goodluck to all future marines!
Right on man! Sounds like a solid plan and it sounds like youâve got a great head on your shoulders. Follow your dreams man and kick ass when you become a Marine!
Hello! Thank you so much for making this video. I really appreciate it. I was wondering how I should physically prepare for Marine Boot Camp. I am looking at going into the Marines in the future, I play multiple sports but I feel that there is more that I should be training for. All the tips help. Thanks and have a great day.
If youâre already in sports and stay active with those, Iâd focus on strengthening your mind. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
@@ForTheCorps thank you so much, have a great rest of your day! And thank you for your service!
im 19 and i just started my second year of college majoring in automotive repair i plan on enlisting as soon as i finish this year of school
19, leaving next month! Thanks for the tips!
I am 16 and finishing my sophomore year of high school! Iâve been training since the end of 2023 to hopefully be ready to enter the corps! I plan to speak with a recruiter later this year once I turn 17 and enlist shortly out of high school!
As a lot of the people in this comment section, I'm 17 years old and I'm going to go into basic training when I'm 18. I'm both extremely nervous and extremely excited. I feel this will be the first significant step in my life to growing up and becoming a tough, mature man.
Im 18 years old graduated high school last year. Been to meps once and got dinged for some medical stuff but hopefully going back soon!
In 75 there were no videos telling you what to expect. No one told me anything veterans would just smile and say nothing. My recruiter told me as long as i was physically fit i was fine. My football coach was a retired Marine who worked with me till i left. It was hard but i did it.
I'm 24 and I've just submitted my application for the Royal Marine. Im so excited man
