I remember hearing this not long after it was released, I think maybe 1985 ish?, I was driving an artic truck in Europe on my way home to Ireland, I-was overwhelmed by the girls duo and this amazing song…As soon as I arrived home I bought the record and nearly wore it out 😂…Still one of my favourite all time hits..

How after nearly 40 years can they sound so good and look even better and i look and sound like a bag of spanners, classy classy ladies
Part of why this works so well for these two is they have such radically different voices and vocal tone, Dickson's is particularly unique. I think that's why it's never been successfully covered.
She has a very lovely voice, perhaps not as secure here as it was, but still beautiful.

No one beats the original singers in their a game. As good as chess the concert in 2008 was Menzel was pitchy and felt forced compared with page who seems to effortlessly sing this song no matter how many years go by. And how cool is Barbara harmonising and holding her own with her beautiful voice too. All things considered this performance was 20 years after the concept album they both recorded. Amazing

Yes, it's possible to notice numerous tricks of the trade employed by Elaine, at least, e.g. the break for a breath between "I know him" and "so well" at 3:47 that she didn't used to need or bother with when she was younger.

This is fantastic. but i have heard listened to loSA. I M LOVE BOTH GIRLS,M, BUT elaine paige had issues with susan boyle not being taught 9 WHICH I THINK is an even bigger accolade to susan. But susan could sing elaines part effortlesly, she could never match the the vibrato in barbaras voice which is why this will always be barbara dickinso.. elaine could never match barbaras voice x
Elaine could sing a bit, but Barbara is a far more accomplished performer in every respect.
Agnetha and Frida would have done this better as they have much better voices. Here Barbara is much better. Elaine is off key nasally.
