  • Who loves onigiri? 🍙 Japanese rice balls are so popular right now but we ate them all the time when I was growing up. Cook some high quality sushi rice or short grain brown rice, make a filling such as chickpeas mashed with cashew mayo and a drizzle of soy sauce or use store bought ume plum filling, simmered shiitake mushrooms or whatever you like. They taste the best when they’re freshly made and served with a bowl of miso soup. #chefjulia #plantbasedjapanese2

Chef Julia - yum!!!!! I just love rice!!!! Did you use a short-grain
Sushi rice? Oh, I love Yum-yum sauce. Is that Chinese. I need a healthy recipe. Only YOU could create a tasty one! I love watching you. Thank you! I saw some Miso
“cubes” at the grocery store. Do you think they would be ok?

Pickled daikon radishes or pickled umeboshi plums are extra tasty in Onigiri. (I don't really use those anymore though because of the salt but they are extra tasty non the less)

Is there anything special that’s needed for the rice, or is it just plain?
