    Just a tip for puncturing the holes for the screws you can heat up a small Phillips head or punch ideally close to the size of the screw and it will melt a perfect circle hole where your screws go through. 👍🏻

    This is the third video I've watched after finding your channel. I'm curious why you kept the original Intex pool outlets plumbed in when you added the Hayward skimmer. You mentioned using the Intex ports when you vacuum but I don't see how that works with two Intex ports. During your older video on the cloudy pool you vacuumed using the "clamped on skimmer".

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  Před 2 lety

      No I did not have to support the weight at all. I’m so happy I did it this way. The skimmer works amazing it keeps the pool super clean. When I have the skimmer going I close off the original inlets. But when I vacuum I close the skimmer and use the original inlet and cover the extra hole. Doing it that way gives me amazing suction and vacuuming is so easy.

My problem is when I run the hose from the skimmer straight to the pump I have pressure but if I run the hose over to the other “Tee” like you did, I lose all pressure. What am I doing wrong. I wish I could attach a photo of my set up. It’s exactly like yours except for not cutting the end off the hose and clamping it.

      @@LifeLessOrdinary nice video. Thinking of doing the same. Question - why not just cut out one of the original inlets and add the skimmer there? Having a valve for each would allow you to cut suction to skimmer for vacuum or cut suction to the remaining inlet for everyday skimming.
      Having 3 inlets now seems unnecessary, unless I am missing something.

    Does having a more powerful pump increase the suction on the skimmer? Also if only using one exit instead of 2 or more...

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  Před 2 lety

      Yes a bigger pump gives you better suction. Personally when I run my pump I only open the skimmer, but when I vacuum I close my skimmer and use the original inlet with one side covered. It gives me the best suction for vacuuming

      I’ve had the skimmer that goes in the pool for 2 years now and it works great. But my kids get crazy in the water and it causes it to bounce around too much. This one is much closer to a regular above ground pool skimmer and it’s pretty solid on the wall and doesn’t move.

    How did you hook up the old floating skimmer once you did you pvc conversion? Or even the hose for a vacuum? I notice the 3/4 inch pvc that goes into the inlet might get in the way of putting anything else in the hole. Maybe put in through just enough to connect a hose clamp so that it doesn’t go through to the inside of the pool, then push something else through till said object and pvc meet?

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  Před 2 lety

      Now that I have the Hayward I don’t use the floating skimmer anymore. But when I did I cut the skimmer adapter just a little which allowed me to push it into the inlet enough without hitting the pvc 👍🏼
