- Well guys, perch fishing is something i've really been neglecting this past couple of years, mainly focusing on pike. I finally got round to getting out and having a go at filming a perch video though. Its made me realise how bad I actually am at it now, need to get some practice in for sure! Managed a few dinks to scrape a video together though.

Nobody's haven't caught fish where? Around the no fishing sign? Don't believe so. In fact that's the whole point of this comment, there's ton of fish around the no fishing sign. But if we're to speak about the spots where people tend to fish, there isn't as much of a substantial amount of fish if to compare to the "no sign" fishing spots. Like seeing Perch for a change 👍 amazed how many you’ve caught just walking the banks rather than focusing on a feature.
The ridges in the steelwork create a continuous feature, always worth concentrating on.

I don't think he'd have the time time to go through all the lures he has the video would be at least 2 hour's long with all his different types from budgies and bats to snakes and everything in between but I'd like to see his top ten that he couldn't do without be interesting

@@GillybearukI fish in lakes and I barely catch any perch and idk why, I use small lures especially spinners cuz I never caught one on the soft plastic jigs
If youre in the market for another perch-sized spinner, take a look at the Berkley Pulse spintails; ive been having massive succes on the 5gr spintails when fishing for perch, absolutely lovely bait, easy to fish.

There is no bad size while perch fishing nice job. I got a Shimano nasci reel 1000 size for perch noise of the drag is deadly luv it.
I've used that same reel in florida (from there originally) for snook and jack crevalle. Drag on it does work.

Swear I perch fish alot I go out using 7.5cm shads catch wasps drop down to 2cm shad and the 40s bite.. perch are nuts ... But I love um .. enjoyed the change up from all the pike.. keep it up bud
Try doing a bit of sea fishing with the perch lures, pollock will go mad for them

Ha literally had this last week. Caught 2 low double digit carp on a big chunk of pepperami. Switched to a single 8ml pellet. 22 lber 😅
What's that measuring device you have? Been looking for one like that but keep finding stickers for seatboxes or full mats.

What's happened to your tackle ?
Trebbles im sure they where invented to foul hook fish if they spat the hook out. I hade a liitle jack do it to me last week with a jerkbait. spat the hook as i was landing him and hooked just above its eye socket :-( i was lucky that i crush my barbs and i managed to get the hook out without damaging the fish :-)

Years ago I bought a micro fishing outfit so perch could actually bend the rod, I love to fish but perch fishing ground me down.
Try fishing for some bigger trout on light perch gear, great fun.
Use a snap swivel dude... dont have to bite off and retie a new lure. Just a bit easier 😅

I think a lot of these are around Doncaster and Yorkshire. I've noticed him on the river Don and surrounding canals.

Can I ask why use treble hooks for such small perch, I’m a match fisherman so just genuinely curious? Great video btw
When your using hardbaits like crankbaits etc you cant really use single hooks because fish hit it from all angles so if a fish hits it from the side and the single hook is facing the other way you wont hook it 👍

I'm not been smart but most fishing men don't say where they fish especially on here have everyone fishing his swim's and you now not everyone has respect for the fish and the land he's fishing on but if you txt him before get back in touch. Your best bet is to just get out and fish the water that's near you most canals hold good amount of perch and pike not monsters but still if you're catching your having fun best of luck pal

Im an international student in Bangor, North Wales. I really have no idea about fishing regulation here in the UK. Is it allowed to go out and fishing in public (catch and release)? Do I need a permission or an licence?

Perch like to punch above their weight.
Definitely don't use treble hooks for perch, most the fish you caught were damaged badly and most likely not survive. It's down to us as anglers to cause no harm to these fish and Keep them good for others

I don’t know why but all the perch in the lakes where I am are a lot stouter, yours all seem very thin.
He’s fishing a canal which has current so the fish are slimmer than a Stillwater fish which doesn’t have to fight any current
